The End Times (Revelation 1:1–3)
1 ULT And at that time, Michael, the great prince standing over the sons of your people, will stand. And a time of distress will be that has not been from the being of a nation until that time. But at that time, your people will be rescued, every one found written in the book. BSB BSB: “At that time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a time of distress, the likes of which will not have occurred from the beginning of nations until that time. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
3 ULT And the ones making wise will shine like the brightness of the firmament, and the ones making many righteous, like stars forever and ever. BSB BSB: Then the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever.
4 ULT But you, Daniel, close up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will go about, that knowledge may increase.” BSB BSB: But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam to and fro, and knowledge will increase.”
5 ULT And I looked, I, Daniel, and behold, two others were standing, one here on the lip of the river and one there on the lip of the river. BSB BSB: Then I, Daniel, looked and saw two others standing there, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.
6 ULT And one said to the man clothed{ in} linens, who{ was} from above to the waters of the river,“Until when{ will be} the end of the wonders?” BSB BSB: One of them said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long until the fulfillment of these wonders?”
7 ULT And I heard the man clothed{ in} linens who{ was} from above to the waters of the river. And he raised his right hand and his left hand toward the heavens, and he swore by the one living{ for} eternity that{ it would be} for an appointed time, appointed times, and a half. And according to the finishing of the shattering of the hand of the people of holiness, all of these would finish. BSB BSB: And the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by Him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, and times, and half a time. When the power of the holy people has finally been shattered, all these things will be completed.”
8 ULT And I, I heard, but I did not understand. So I said,“My lord, what{ will be} the end of these?” BSB BSB: I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”
9 ULT And he said,“Go, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. BSB BSB: “Go on your way, Daniel,” he replied, “for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.
10 ULT Many will be purified and whitened and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly. And not any of the wicked will understand, but the ones making wise will understand. BSB BSB: Many will be purified, made spotless, and refined, but the wicked will continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand.
11 ULT And from the time of{ when} the perpetual sacrifice is removed and the setting up of the abomination making desolate{ will be} 1, 290 days. BSB BSB: And from the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation set up, there will be 1,290 days.
12 ULT The happinesses of the one waiting and he reaches to the 1, 335 days. BSB BSB: Blessed is he who waits and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
13 ULT But you, go until the end, for you will rest, and you will stand for your lot at the end of days.” BSB BSB: But as for you, go on your way until the end. You will rest, and then you will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”
