1. The Resurrection

   (Mark 16:1–8; Luke 24:1–12; John 20:1–9)

2. 1ULTNow after the Sabbath, at the dawning on the first of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to watch the tomb.BSBBSB: After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
3. 2ULTAnd behold, a great earthquake happened, for an angel of the Lord, having come down from heaven and having approached, rolled away the stone and was sitting on it.BSBBSB: Suddenly there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, rolled away the stone, and sat on it.
4. 3ULTNow his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.BSBBSB: His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
5. 4ULTAnd the ones guarding were shaken from the fear of him and became as dead.BSBBSB: The guards trembled in fear of him and became like dead men.
6. 5ULTBut answering, the angel said to the women,“You, do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, the one having been crucified.BSBBSB: But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
7. 6ULTHe is not here, for he was raised up, just as he said. Come, see the place where he was lying.BSBBSB: He is not here; He has risen, just as He said! Come, see the place where He lay.
8. 7ULTAnd having gone quickly, say to his disciples,‘He has been raised up from the dead. And behold, he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him.’ Behold, I have said{ it} to you.”BSBBSB: Then go quickly and tell His disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him.’ See, I have told you.”
9. 8ULTAnd having quickly gone away from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to report{ this} to his disciples.BSBBSB: So they hurried away from the tomb in fear and great joy, and ran to tell His disciples.
10. 9ULTAnd behold, Jesus met them, saying,“Rejoice!” But they, having approached, seized his feet and worshiped him.BSBBSB: Suddenly Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” They came to Him, grasped His feet, and worshiped Him.
11. 10ULTThen Jesus says to them,“Do not be afraid. Go, report{ this} to my brothers so that they might go away to Galilee, and there they will see me.”BSBBSB: “Do not be afraid,” said Jesus. “Go and tell My brothers to go to Galilee. There they will see Me.”

12. The Report of the Guards

13. 11ULTNow they going, behold, some of the guard, having come into the city, reported to the chief priests all the things having happened.BSBBSB: While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests all that had happened.
14. 12ULTAnd having been gathered together with the elders, and having taken counsel, they gave many pieces of silver to the soldiers,BSBBSB: And after the chief priests had met with the elders and formed a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money
15. 13ULTsaying,“Say,‘His disciples, having come at night, stole him, we sleeping.’BSBBSB: and instructed them: “You are to say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep.’
16. 14ULTAnd if this is heard by the governor, we will persuade and make you free from concern.”BSBBSB: If this report reaches the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”
17. 15ULTAnd they, having taken the pieces of silver, did as they were taught. And this word has been reported among the Jews until today.BSBBSB: So the guards took the money and did as they were instructed. And this account has been circulated among the Jews to this very day.

18. The Great Commission

    (Mark 16:14–18)

19. 16ULTNow the 11 disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them.BSBBSB: Meanwhile, the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain Jesus had designated.
20. 17ULTAnd having seen him, they worshiped, but they doubted.BSBBSB: When they saw Him, they worshiped Him, but some doubted.
21. 18ULTAnd having approached, Jesus spoke to them, saying,“All authority was given to me in heaven and on the earth.BSBBSB: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
22. 19ULTHaving gone, therefore, disciple all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;BSBBSB: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
23. 20ULTteaching them to keep everything, as much as I commanded you. And behold, I am with you all the days, until the end of the age.”BSBBSB: and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
