2 ULT who swore to Yahweh; vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, BSB BSB: how he swore an oath to the LORD, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 ULT “If I go into the tent of my house, if I go up on the bed of my couch, BSB BSB: “I will not enter my house or get into my bed,
4 ULT if I give sleep to my eyes, slumber to my eyelids, BSB BSB: I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
5 ULT until I find a place for Yahweh, dwellings for the Mighty One of Jacob.” BSB BSB: until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
6 ULT Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar. BSB BSB: We heard that the ark was in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar.
7 ULT “Let us go to his dwellings; let us bow down at the footstool of his feet.” BSB BSB: Let us go to His dwelling place; let us worship at His footstool.
8 ULT Arise, Yahweh, to your resting place, you and the box of your strength. BSB BSB: Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength.
9 ULT Let your priests wear righteousness, and let your faithful shout for joy. BSB BSB: May Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and Your saints shout for joy.
10 ULT For the sake of David your servant, do not turn back the face of your anointed. BSB BSB: For the sake of Your servant David, do not reject Your anointed one.
11 ULT Yahweh swore to David,{ in} truth, he will not turn back from it:“From the fruit of your body I will set{ one} on the throne for you. BSB BSB: The LORD swore an oath to David, a promise He will not revoke: “One of your descendants I will place on your throne.
12 ULT If your sons keep my covenant and my testimonies that I will teach them, then also their sons, unto perpetuity, will sit on the throne for you.” BSB BSB: If your sons keep My covenant and the testimony I will teach them, then their sons will also sit on your throne forever and ever.”
13 ULT For Yahweh has chosen Zion; he desired{ it} for a dwelling for himself. BSB BSB: For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His home:
14 ULT “This{ is} my resting place unto perpetuity; here I will dwell, for I have desired it. BSB BSB: “This is My resting place forever and ever; here I will dwell, for I have desired this home.
15 ULT Blessing I will bless her provisions; her needy I will satisfy{ with} bread. BSB BSB: I will bless her with abundant provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 ULT And her priests I will clothe{ with} salvation, and her faithful, shouting they will shout for joy. BSB BSB: I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will sing out in joy.
17 ULT There I will make a horn sprout for David; I have arranged a lamp for my anointed one. BSB BSB: There I will make a horn grow for David; I have prepared a lamp for My anointed one.
18 ULT His enemies I will clothe{ with} shame, but upon him his crown will flourish.” BSB BSB: I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown upon him will gleam.”
