Give Praise, O Servants of the LORD (Psalm 115:1–18)
1 ULT Hallelu Yah! Praise the name of Yahweh; praise{ him}, servants of Yahweh, BSB BSB: Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD. Give praise, O servants of the LORD,
2 ULT who are standing in the house of Yahweh, in the courts of the house of our God. BSB BSB: who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 ULT Hallelu Yah, for Yahweh{ is} good; make music to his name, for{ it is} pleasant. BSB BSB: Hallelujah, for the LORD is good; sing praises to His name, for it is lovely.
4 ULT For Yah chose Jacob for himself; Israel for his special possession. BSB BSB: For the LORD has chosen Jacob as His own, Israel as His treasured possession.
5 ULT For I, I know that Yahweh{ is} great, and our Lord than all gods. BSB BSB: For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is above all gods.
6 ULT Everything that Yahweh desires, he does, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all deeps— BSB BSB: The LORD does all that pleases Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and in all their depths.
7 ULT bringing up clouds from the end of the earth, he makes lightning bolts for the rain— bringing out wind from his storehouses, BSB BSB: He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
8 ULT who struck the firstborn of Egypt, from man to beast. BSB BSB: He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, of both man and beast.
9 ULT He sent signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt, against Pharaoh and against all of his servants, BSB BSB: He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.
10 ULT who struck many nations and slew mighty kings: BSB BSB: He struck down many nations and slaughtered mighty kings:
11 ULT Sihon, king of the Amorite, and Og, king of the Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan. BSB BSB: Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.
12 ULT And he gave their land{ as} an inheritance, an inheritance for Israel, his people. BSB BSB: He gave their land as an inheritance, as a heritage to His people Israel.
13 ULT Yahweh, your name{ is} to forever; Yahweh, your remembrance{ is} to generation and generation. BSB BSB: Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your renown, O LORD, through all generations.
14 ULT For Yahweh vindicates his people, and he has compassion on his servants. BSB BSB: For the LORD will vindicate His people and will have compassion on His servants.
15 ULT The idols of the nations{ are} silver and gold, the work of the hands of man. BSB BSB: The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.
16 ULT A mouth{ is} to them, but they do not speak; eyes{ are} to them, but they do not see. BSB BSB: They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
17 ULT Ears{ are} to them, but they do not listen; indeed there is no breath in their mouths. BSB BSB: they have ears, but cannot hear; nor is there breath in their mouths.
18 ULT Their makers are like them— everyone who is trusting in them. BSB BSB: Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.
19 ULT House of Israel, bless Yahweh; house of Aaron, bless Yahweh. BSB BSB: O house of Israel, bless the LORD; O house of Aaron, bless the LORD;
20 ULT House of the Levite, bless Yahweh; fearers of Yahweh, bless Yahweh! BSB BSB: O house of Levi, bless the LORD; you who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!
21 ULT Blessed{ be} Yahweh from Zion, the one dwelling{ in} Jerusalem. Hallelu Yah! BSB BSB: Blessed be the LORD from Zion—He who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
