Psalm 16 16 Psalms Book 1 unfoldingWord® Literal Text The Presence of the LORD (Acts 2:14–36)
ULT A miktam of David. Protect me, God, for I take refuge in you. BSB BSB: A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.
ULT You said to Yahweh,“You are my Lord; my good is not beyond you.” BSB BSB: I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.”
ULT As for the holy{ ones} who are on the earth, they are the majestic{ ones}; all my delight is in them. BSB BSB: As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides.
ULT Their sorrows will be multiplied, they{ who} hasten{ after} another{ god}. I will not pour out their drink offerings from blood, and I will not take up their names on my lips. BSB BSB: Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips.
ULT Yahweh, the portion of my inheritance and my cup. You are holding my lot. BSB BSB: The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
ULT { The} measuring cords have fallen for me in pleasant{ places}; indeed,{ the} inheritance is beautiful for me. BSB BSB: The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
ULT I will bless Yahweh, who has given me counsel; even{ in the} night my kidneys instruct me. BSB BSB: I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me.
ULT I have set Yahweh continually before me, because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. BSB BSB: I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
ULT Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices. Also, my flesh will dwell in security. BSB BSB: Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely.
ULT For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol. You will not hand over your faithful one to see the pit. BSB BSB: For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay.
ULT You make known to me the path of life; abundance of joys are before your face; in your right hand are delights forever! BSB BSB: You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
