You Are My Refuge and My Fortress 1 ULT The one dwelling in the shelter of the Most High will remain in the shadow of Shaddai. BSB BSB: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 ULT I will say to Yahweh,“My refuge and my fortress, my God, I trust in him.” BSB BSB: I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 ULT For he will rescue you from the snare of the trapper, from the plague of calamities. BSB BSB: Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague.
4 ULT He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will shelter. His faithfulness{ is} a shield and rampart. BSB BSB: He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.
5 ULT You will not be afraid of the terror of the night, of the arrow{ that} flies by day, BSB BSB: You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 ULT of the plague{ that} walks in darkness, of the destruction that wastes{ at} midday. BSB BSB: nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the calamity that destroys at noon.
7 ULT A thousand may fall at your side, and a myriad at your right hand; it will not approach toward you. BSB BSB: Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you.
8 ULT You will only observe with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. BSB BSB: You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.
9 ULT Because you have made Yahweh, my refuge, the Most High, your dwelling, BSB BSB: Because you have made the LORD your dwelling—my refuge, the Most High—
10 ULT evil will not happen to you, and a plague will not approach your tent. BSB BSB: no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent.
11 ULT For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all of your ways. BSB BSB: For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
12 ULT They will lift you up in their hands, lest you hit your foot against a stone. BSB BSB: They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 ULT You will tread on the lion and the adder; you will trample the young lion and the serpent. BSB BSB: You will tread on the lion and cobra; you will trample the young lion and serpent.
14 ULT “Because he clings to me, indeed I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name. BSB BSB: “Because he loves Me, I will deliver him; because he knows My name, I will protect him.
15 ULT He will call me and I will answer him. I{ will be} with him in trouble; I will rescue him and I will honor him. BSB BSB: When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him.
16 ULT I will satisfy him{ with} length of days, and I will show him my salvation.” BSB BSB: With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”
