The LORD Will Not Forget His People 1 ULT God of vengeance, Yahweh, God of vengeance, shine forth! BSB BSB: O LORD, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth.
2 ULT Rise up, judge of the earth, return recompense upon the proud. BSB BSB: Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render a reward to the proud.
3 ULT Until when will the wicked, Yahweh, until when will the wicked rejoice? BSB BSB: How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long will the wicked exult?
4 ULT They pour out, they speak, arrogance; all doers of evil praise themselves. BSB BSB: They pour out arrogant words; all workers of iniquity boast.
5 ULT They crush your people, Yahweh; they afflict your inheritance. BSB BSB: They crush Your people, O LORD; they oppress Your heritage.
6 ULT They kill the widow and the sojourner, and they murder the fatherless. BSB BSB: They kill the widow and the foreigner; they murder the fatherless.
7 ULT They say,“Yah does not see, the God of Jacob does not perceive.” BSB BSB: They say, “The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed.”
8 ULT Understand, stupid ones among the people! O fools, when will you have insight? BSB BSB: Take notice, O senseless among the people! O fools, when will you be wise?
9 ULT The one planting the ear, does he not hear? Or the one forming the eye, does he not observe? BSB BSB: He who affixed the ear, can He not hear? He who formed the eye, can He not see?
10 ULT The one instructing nations, does he not rebuke? Does the one teaching mankind lack knowledge? BSB BSB: He who admonishes the nations, does He not discipline? He who teaches man, does He lack knowledge?
11 ULT Yahweh knows the thoughts of mankind, that they are vapor. BSB BSB: The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile.
12 ULT The joys of the man whom you instruct, Yah, and from your law you teach him, BSB BSB: Blessed is the man You discipline, O LORD, and teach from Your law,
13 ULT to give rest to him from days of evil until a pit is dug for the wicked. BSB BSB: to grant him relief from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 ULT For Yahweh will not forsake his people and he will not abandon his inheritance. BSB BSB: For the LORD will not forsake His people; He will never abandon His heritage.
15 ULT For judgment will return to the right; and all the upright in heart{ are} after it. BSB BSB: Surely judgment will again be righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 ULT Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of wickedness? BSB BSB: Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity?
17 ULT Unless Yahweh{ had been} a help to me, shortly my soul would have dwelt in silence. BSB BSB: Unless the LORD had been my helper, I would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.
18 ULT When I said,“My foot is slipping,” Your covenant faithfulness, Yahweh, supported me. BSB BSB: If I say, “My foot is slipping,” Your loving devotion, O LORD, supports me.
19 ULT When my cares within me{ are} many, your consolations gladden my soul. BSB BSB: When anxiety overwhelms me, Your consolation delights my soul.
20 ULT Can a throne of destruction be your ally, one creating injustice by statute? BSB BSB: Can a corrupt throne be Your ally—one devising mischief by decree?
21 ULT They conspire together against the life of the righteous and they condemn innocent blood. BSB BSB: They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.
22 ULT But Yahweh has been to me a high tower, and my God, the rock of my refuge. BSB BSB: But the LORD has been my stronghold, and my God is my rock of refuge.
23 ULT He will return on them their iniquity and he will destroy them in their wickedness. Yahweh our God will destroy them. BSB BSB: He will bring upon them their own iniquity and destroy them for their wickedness. The LORD our God will destroy them.
