The Death of Moses 2 UST all the land that the tribes of Naphtali, Ephraim, Manasseh, and Judah would occupy as far the sea to the west, BSB BSB: all of Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Western Sea,
3 UST the desert area in the south part of Judah, and the plain in the valley with Jericho(which is called the City of Palms), from there{ on the north end of the Salt Sea} to the city of Zoar{ on the south end}. BSB BSB: the Negev, and the region from the Valley of Jericho (the City of Palms) all the way to Zoar.
4 UST Then Yahweh said to him,“This is the land that I solemnly promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that I would give to their descendants. I have allowed you to see it clearly from a distance, but you will not go there.” BSB BSB: And the LORD said to him, “This is the land that I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your own eyes, but you will not cross into it.”
6 UST Yahweh buried Moses’ body in the valley in the land of Moab, across from the town of Beth Peor, but until now, no one knows where Yahweh buried him. BSB BSB: And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab facing Beth-peor, and no one to this day knows the location of his grave.
7 UST Moses was 120 years old when he died, but he was still very strong, and he could still see very well. BSB BSB: Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak, and his vitality had not diminished.
8 UST The Israelites mourned for Moses in the plains of Moab for thirty days and then they stopped crying for him. BSB BSB: The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.
9 UST Because Moses had put his hands on Joshua the son of Nun{ to appoint him to be the Israelites’ new leader}, God gave Joshua a spirit that made him very wise. The Israelites obeyed Joshua, and they obeyed all that Yahweh had commanded them through Moses. BSB BSB: Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites obeyed him and did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
11 UST No other prophet has performed all the kinds of powerful miracles that Yahweh caused him to do against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, against all his servants, and against the people of Egypt. BSB BSB: no prophet who did all the signs and wonders that the LORD sent Moses to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh and to all his officials and all his land,
12 UST No other prophet has been able to perform all the great and terrifying deeds that all the Israelites saw Moses perform. BSB BSB: and no prophet who performed all the mighty acts of power and awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
