Psalm 101 101 Psalms Book 4 unfoldingWord® Simplified Text I Will Set No Worthless Thing before My Eyes 1 UST David wrote this psalm. Yahweh, I will praise you with singing! I will sing that you are just and that you faithfully love us. BSB BSB: A Psalm of David. I will sing of Your loving devotion and justice; to You, O LORD, I will sing praises.
UST I will examine how to live in the right way. Yahweh, I need you to come and help me! In everything that I do in my household, I will sincerely try to do what is right. BSB BSB: I will ponder the way that is blameless—when will You come to me? I will walk in my house with integrity of heart.
UST I will not tempt myself to do any bad thing. I hate any kind of sinful action; I will not allow myself to think about doing those things. BSB BSB: I will set no worthless thing before my eyes. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me.
UST I will not be dishonest, and I will not do anything evil. BSB BSB: A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know nothing of evil.
UST I will get rid of anyone who secretly slanders someone else. I will not tolerate anyone who is proud or arrogant. BSB BSB: Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; the one with haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not endure.
UST I look for people in this land who are loyal to God to help me rule{ this nation}. Only people who behave honestly may work for me. BSB BSB: My eyes favor the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in the way of integrity shall minister to me.
UST I will not allow anyone who deceives others{ to work} in my palace, and I will not allow anyone who tells lies to continue working for me. BSB BSB: No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who tells lies shall stand in my presence.
UST I will start every day by working to get rid of all of the wicked people in this land. I will expel everyone who does what is evil from this city that belongs to Yahweh. BSB BSB: Every morning I will remove all the wicked of the land, that I may cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.
