The LORD Has Heard My Voice 1 UST I love Yahweh because he hears me when I cry out for him to help me. BSB BSB: I love the LORD, for He has heard my voice—my appeal for mercy.
2 UST I love him because he listens to me, so I will call out to him all during my life. BSB BSB: Because He has inclined His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live.
3 UST Everything around me caused me to think that I was about to die; it seemed to me that I was already dying. I was distressed and very sad. BSB BSB: The ropes of death entangled me; the anguish of Sheol overcame me; I was confronted by trouble and sorrow.
4 UST But then I called out to Yahweh. I said,“Yahweh, I plead with you to save me!” BSB BSB: Then I called on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, deliver my soul!”
5 UST Yahweh is kind and does what is right. He is the God whom we worship, and he loves us. BSB BSB: The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.
6 UST Yahweh protects those who are helpless; when I was experiencing bad things, he saved me. BSB BSB: The LORD preserves the simplehearted; I was helpless, and He saved me.
7 UST I encourage myself to relax once again because Yahweh has restored me. BSB BSB: Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
8 UST Indeed, Yahweh has saved me from dying, he has delivered me from being sorrowful, and he has kept me from making bad mistakes. BSB BSB: For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
9 UST So while I am still alive, I will live as Yahweh directs me. BSB BSB: I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
10 UST I continued to trust{ in Yahweh}, even when I said,“As for me, I am greatly suffering.” BSB BSB: I believed, therefore I said, “I am greatly afflicted.”
11 UST For my part, I was so distressed that I thought,“I cannot trust anyone.” BSB BSB: In my alarm I said, “All men are liars!”
12 UST I can never repay Yahweh for all the good things that he has done for me. BSB BSB: How can I repay the LORD for all His goodness to me?
13 UST { But I can do this:} I will present a cup{ of wine as a thank offering} as I call out to thank him for saving me. BSB BSB: I will lift the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.
14 UST Also, as the people who belong to Yahweh watch, I will give to him the offerings that I solemnly promised to give to him. BSB BSB: I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people.
15 UST Yahweh is very grieved when one of his people dies. BSB BSB: Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.
16 UST Certainly I am one of Yahweh’ s people; I am his servant; I have belonged to him since my mother bore me. So he saved me from what was going to kill me. BSB BSB: Truly, O LORD, I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have broken my bonds.
18 UST So I will offer to him a sacrifice to thank him, and I will pray to Yahweh. BSB BSB: I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people,
19 UST As the people who belong to Yahweh watch, in the courtyard outside his temple, in the middle of Jerusalem, I will give to him the offerings that I solemnly promised to give to him. Praise Yahweh! BSB BSB: in the courts of the LORD’s house, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
