The Presence of the LORD (Acts 2:14–36)
1 UST A song of David. God, protect me, because I go to you to keep me safe! BSB BSB: A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.
2 UST I said to Yahweh,“You are my Lord; all the good things that I have come from you.” BSB BSB: I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.”
3 UST People who try to live holy lives, they are wonderful; I greatly delight in them. BSB BSB: As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides.
4 UST Those who choose to worship other gods will have many things that cause them to be sad. I will not join them when they make sacrifices{ to their gods}, and I will not join them in speaking the names of their gods. BSB BSB: Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips.
5 UST Yahweh, you have granted to me that I would belong to you, and you supply all of my needs. You control what happens to me. BSB BSB: The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
6 UST Yahweh has greatly blessed me; I am delighted with all the things that he has given me. BSB BSB: The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
7 UST I will praise Yahweh, the one who teaches me; even during the night he puts in my mind the right things for me to do. BSB BSB: I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me.
8 UST I have chosen to always think about Yahweh. Because he is the one who strengthens and supports me, he will save me from anything that might trouble me. BSB BSB: I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9 UST Therefore I am very glad, and I can rest securely, BSB BSB: Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely.
10 UST because you, Yahweh, will save me from going to the place where dead people go, yes, you will save me, a godly person, from dying. BSB BSB: For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay.
11 UST You reveal to me how to live in a way that will make me joyful now and will result in receiving eternal life in the future. You make me joyful when I am with you. You give pleasures forever. BSB BSB: You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
