Psalm 43 43 Psalms Book 2 unfoldingWord® Simplified Text Send Out Your Light 1 UST Please protect me, God, from the people who are being so cruel to me. Please consider that I do not deserve that. Rescue me from people who would deceive me and treat me unfairly. BSB BSB: Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; deliver me from deceitful and unjust men.
UST { I ask you to do this} because you are the God who protects me, and yet I feel as if you have abandoned me! I am living sorrowfully because my enemies are afflicting me. BSB BSB: For You are the God of my refuge. Why have You rejected me? Why must I walk in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?
UST Treat me favorably, as if you were smiling at me. Help me, as you have promised to do for those who are loyal to you. Guide me so that I can return to your temple on Mount Zion. BSB BSB: Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy mountain and to the place where You dwell.
UST { When I do come to Zion,} I will go to your altar{ to worship you}. O God, you make me very joyful!{ At your altar,} I will sing praise to you, the God whom I worship, as I play the harp. BSB BSB: Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my greatest joy. I will praise You with the harp, O God, my God.
UST So I certainly should not be so sad and upset! I can confidently expect God to rescue me! When he does, I will have the opportunity to praise him as my savior and my God. BSB BSB: Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.
