Praise Awaits God in Zion 1 UST God, when you come to your sanctuary on Mount Zion, you will find that we have been waiting quietly to praise you and to do what we promised we would do to honor you. BSB BSB: For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A song. Praise awaits You, O God, in Zion; to You our vows will be fulfilled.
2 UST Because you help people when they pray, people everywhere will pray to you. BSB BSB: O You who listen to prayer, all people will come to You.
3 UST When we feel very badly because we have done wrong things, you forgive our sins and make it as if we had not committed them. BSB BSB: When iniquities prevail against me, You atone for our transgressions.
4 UST When you invite people to come and worship you in your sanctuary, that makes them very happy! When we come to your sanctuary, we realize how good and holy you are, and that satisfies us completely. BSB BSB: Blessed is the one You choose and bring near to dwell in Your courts! We are filled with the goodness of Your house, the holiness of Your temple.
5 UST When we pray to you, you do good and powerful things to help us. You are the God who saves us. Even people who live in very remote places on the earth, on the other side of the oceans, trust in you. BSB BSB: With awesome deeds of righteousness You answer us, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas.
6 UST You are so strong, you were able to use your power to set the mountains in their places. BSB BSB: You formed the mountains by Your power, having girded Yourself with might.
7 UST When there is a storm at sea, you can calm it and stop its waves from crashing on the shore. In the same way, you can keep nations from causing trouble. BSB BSB: You stilled the roaring of the seas, the pounding of their waves, and the tumult of the nations.
8 UST People who live in very remote places on the earth deeply respect you because of the miracles that you perform. People who live all over the world celebrate what you do. BSB BSB: Those who live far away fear Your wonders; You make the dawn and sunset shout for joy.
9 UST You send rain to make the soil fertile so that it will produce good crops. It is as if you bring water to the fields in a stream. That is how you prepare the earth to produce abundant crops. BSB BSB: You attend to the earth and water it; with abundance You enrich it. The streams of God are full of water, for You prepare our grain by providing for the earth.
10 UST You send rain on the plowed fields, and you fill their furrows with water. You soften the hard clods of soil with showers, and you help young plants to grow in the fields. BSB BSB: You soak its furrows and level its ridges; You soften it with showers and bless its growth.
11 UST When harvest time comes, the fields are glorious with crops, as if you had put a golden crown on them. You provide food for people in great abundance. BSB BSB: You crown the year with Your bounty, and Your paths overflow with plenty.
12 UST There is plenty of food for sheep and goats to eat in the pastures where they graze. So many crops grow on the hills that it is as if the hills were celebrating. BSB BSB: The pastures of the wilderness overflow; the hills are robed with joy.
13 UST Flocks of sheep and goats cover the meadows like a garment, and there is so much grain in the valleys that the ground is not visible. It is as if the meadows and valleys are singing and shouting joyfully. BSB BSB: The pastures are clothed with flocks, and the valleys are decked with grain. They shout in triumph; indeed, they sing.
