1 ULB Cualquiera que cree que Jesús es el Cristo, es nacido de Dios, y cualquiera que ama al Padre también ama a Aquél que fue nacido de Él. BSB BSB: Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves those born of Him.
2 ULB Debido a esto sabemos que amamos a los hijos de Dios: cuando amamos a Dios y obedecemos Sus mandamientos. BSB BSB: By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments.
3 ULB Porque este es el amor a Dios: que guardemos Sus mandamientos. Y sus mandamientos no son pesados. BSB BSB: For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,
4 ULB Porque todo el que es nacido de Dios vence al mundo. Y esta es la victoria que ha vencido el mundo: nuestra fe. BSB BSB: because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
5 ULB ¿Quién es aquel que vence el mundo? El que cree que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios? BSB BSB: Who then overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
6 ULB Este es el que vino mediante agua y sangre: Jesucristo. Él vino no solo por agua, sino por agua y por sangre. BSB BSB: This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ—not by water alone, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies to this, because the Spirit is the truth.
7 ULB Pues hay tres los que dan testimonio: BSB BSB: For there are three that testify:
8 ULB el Espíritu, el agua y la sangre. Estos tres están en común acuerdo. BSB BSB: the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and these three are in agreement.
9 ULB Si recibimos el testimonio de los hombres, el testimonio de Dios es mayor. Porque el testimonio de Dios es éste: que Él ha dado testimonio con relación a Su Hijo. BSB BSB: Even if we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony that God has given about His Son.
10 ULB Cualquiera que cree en el Hijo de Dios tiene el testimonio en sí mismo. Cualquiera que no cree a Dios Lo ha hecho mentiroso, porque no ha creído el testimonio que Dios ha dado acerca de Su Hijo. BSB BSB: Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him; whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given about His Son.
12 ULB El que tiene al Hijo tiene vida. El que no tiene al Hijo de Dios no tiene vida. BSB BSB: Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
14 ULB También, esta es la confianza que tenemos delante de Él, que si Le pedimos cualquier cosa de acuerdo a Su voluntad, Él nos escucha. BSB BSB: And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15 ULB Además, si sabemos que Él nos oye, cualquier cosa que Le pidamos, sabemos que tenemos todo lo que Le hayamos pedido. BSB BSB: And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.
16 ULB Si alguien ve a su hermano cometer un pecado que no resulte en muerte, debe orar, y Dios le dará vida. Me refiero a aquellos cuyo pecado no resulta en muerte. Hay un pecado que resulta en muerte; no estoy diciendo que deba orar por eso. BSB BSB: If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he should ask God, who will give life to those who commit this kind of sin. There is a sin that leads to death; I am not saying he should ask regarding that sin.
17 ULB Toda injusticia es pecado, pero hay pecado que no resulta en muerte. BSB BSB: All unrighteousness is sin, yet there is sin that does not lead to death.
18 ULB Sabemos que cualquiera que es nacido de Dios no peca. Pero el que nació de Dios lo guarda, y el maligno no puede hacerle daño. BSB BSB: We know that anyone born of God does not keep on sinning; the One who was born of God protects him, and the evil one cannot touch him.
19 ULB Sabemos que somos de Dios, y sabemos que el mundo entero está bajo el maligno. BSB BSB: We know that we are of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
20 ULB Pero sabemos que el Hijo de Dios ha venido y nos ha dado entendimiento, para que podamos conocer a Aquel que es verdadero. Además, estamos en Aquel que es verdadero, en Su Hijo Jesucristo. Él es el verdadero Dios y la vida eterna. BSB BSB: And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
21 ULB Hijos, guárdense de los ídolos. BSB BSB: Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
