3 ULB Porque una vez nosotros mismos fuimos desconsiderados y desobedientes. Fuimos extraviados y esclavizados por varias pasiones y placeres. Vivimos en maldad y envidia. Éramos detestables y nos odiábamos unos a otros. BSB BSB: For at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, misled, and enslaved to all sorts of desires and pleasures—living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.
4 ULB Pero cuando la bondad de Dios nuestro Salvador y Su amor por la humanidad apareció, BSB BSB: But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
5 ULB no fue por obras de justicia que nosotros hicimos, sino por su misericordia que Él nos salvó. Nos salvó a través del lavado del nuevo nacimiento y renovación por el Espíritu Santo. BSB BSB: He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 ULB Dios derramó abundantemente su Espíritu Santo sobre nosotros por medio de nuestro Salvador Jesucristo. BSB BSB: This is the Spirit He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 ULB Él hizo esto para que, habiendo sido justificados por Su gracia, pudiéramos ser participantes en la confianza de la vida eterna. BSB BSB: so that, having been justified by His grace, we would become heirs with the hope of eternal life.
8 ULB Este mensaje es confiable. Quiero que hables confiadamente sobre estas cosas, para que aquéllos que confían en Dios puedan mantenerse dispuestos en las buenas obras que Él puso ante ellos. Estas cosas son buenas y beneficiosas para toda las personas. BSB BSB: This saying is trustworthy. And I want you to emphasize these things, so that those who have believed God will take care to devote themselves to good deeds. These things are excellent and profitable for the people.
9 ULB Pero evita debates necios y genealogías; y contiendas y conflictos sobre la ley. Esas cosas son sin valor ni provecho. BSB BSB: But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, arguments, and quarrels about the law, because these things are pointless and worthless.
10 ULB Rechaza a cualquiera que esté causando divisiones entre ustedes, después de una o dos advertencias, BSB BSB: Reject a divisive man after a first and second admonition,
11 ULB y conoce que uno como ese se ha desviado del buen camino y está pecando y se condena a sí mismo. BSB BSB: knowing that such a man is corrupt and sinful; he is self-condemned.
12 ULB Cuando yo te envíe a Artemas o Tíquico, apresúrate y ven a mí en Nicópolis, donde he decidido pasar el invierno. BSB BSB: As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there.
