Finnish Bible 1933/1938Berean Standard Bible

1. 1PR38Hajottaja hyökkää sinua vastaan! Vartioitse varustuksia, tähystä tietä, vahvista vyötäiset, kokoa kaikki voimasi.BSBBSB: One who scatters advances against you, O Nineveh. Guard the fortress! Watch the road! Brace yourselves! Summon all your strength!
2. 2PR38Sillä Herra saattaa entiselleen Jaakobin korkeuden niinkuin myös Israelin korkeuden, sillä ryöstäjät ovat niitä ryöstäneet ja turmelleet niiden viiniköynnökset.BSBBSB: For the LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob like the splendor of Israel, though destroyers have laid them waste and ruined the branches of their vine.
3. 3PR38Hänen sankariensa kilvet ovat punaiset, urhot purppurapukuiset, sotavaunut säihkyvät teräksen tulta hänen varustautumispäivänänsä, ja kypressikeihäät heiluvat.BSBBSB: The shields of his mighty men are red; the valiant warriors are dressed in scarlet. The fittings of the chariots flash like fire on the day they are prepared, and the spears of cypress have been brandished.
4. 4PR38Sotavaunut karkaavat hurjasti kaduilla, syöksyvät sekaisin toreilla; ne ovat nähdä kuin tulenliekit, ne kiitävät kuin salamat.BSBBSB: The chariots dash through the streets; they rush around the plazas, appearing like torches, darting about like lightning.
5. 5PR38Hän muistaa ylhäisensä. Ne tulevat niin, että kaatuilevat, kiiruhtavat sen muurille. Mutta suojakatos on pantu kuntoon.BSBBSB: He summons his nobles; they stumble as they advance. They race to its wall; the protective shield is set in place.
6. 6PR38Virranpuoleiset portit on aukaistu, palatsi menehtyy pelkoon.BSBBSB: The river gates are thrown open and the palace collapses.
7. 7PR38Päätös on tullut: se on paljastettu, viety pois; ja sen orjattaret huokailevat, kujertaen kuin kyyhkyset, lyöden rintoihinsa.BSBBSB: It is decreed that the city be exiled and carried away; her maidservants moan like doves, and beat upon their breasts.
8. 8PR38Niinive on ollut kuin vetten täyttämä lammikko päiviensä alusta asti. Nyt ne pakenevat! -"Seis! Seiskää!" Mutta yksikään ei käänny.BSBBSB: Nineveh has been like a pool of water throughout her days, but now it is draining away. “Stop! Stop!” they cry, but no one turns back.
9. 9PR38Ryöstäkää hopeata, ryöstäkää kultaa. Loppumattomat ovat varat, ylen paljon kaikkinaisia kalliita kaluja. -BSBBSB: “Plunder the silver! Plunder the gold!” There is no end to the treasure, an abundance of every precious thing.
10. 10PR38Tyhjänä kaikki, typötyhjänä, hävitettynä! Sydämet raukeavat, polvet tutisevat, kaikki lanteet vapisevat, ja kaikkien kasvot ovat kalpeat.BSBBSB: She is emptied! Yes, she is desolate and laid waste! Hearts melt, knees knock, bodies tremble, and every face grows pale!
11. 11PR38Missä on nyt leijonain tyyssija, nuorten jalopeurain syöntipaikka, jossa leijona käyskenteli, naarasleijona ja leijonanpentu, kenenkään peloittelematta?BSBBSB: Where is the lions’ lair or the feeding ground of the young lions, where the lion and lioness prowled with their cubs, with nothing to frighten them away?
12. 12PR38Leijona raateli, mitä sen pennut tarvitsivat, ja surmasi naarasleijonillensa, täytti luolansa saaliilla ja tyyssijansa raatelemallaan.BSBBSB: The lion mauled enough for its cubs and strangled prey for the lioness. It filled its dens with the kill, and its lairs with mauled prey.
13. 13PR38Katso, minä käyn sinun kimppuusi, sanoo Herra Sebaot, poltan savuksi sinun sotavaunusi, ja sinun nuoret jalopeurasi syö miekka. Minä lopetan maan päältä sinun raatelusi, eikä kuulla enää sinun sanansaattajaisi ääntä.BSBBSB: “Behold, I am against you,” declares the LORD of Hosts. “I will reduce your chariots to cinders, and the sword will devour your young lions. I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voices of your messengers will no longer be heard.”
