For I am like one gathering summer fruit at the gleaning of the vineyard; there is no cluster to eat, no early fig that I crave.

2Nami addatamaan lafa irraa badeera; nami qajeelaan tokkolle hin jiru. Nami marti dhiiga dhangalaasiisaaf riphee gaada; isaan tiyyo'oon wol adansan.The godly man has perished from the earth; there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; they hunt one another with a net.

3Harki isaanii waan hantuu hujiisa barateera; bulchaan kennansa gaafata; abbaan mura'aa safuu fudhata; worri dureeyyiin waan barbaade muummessa; isaan martinuu wolumaan mala dhowan.Both hands are skilled at evil; the prince and the judge demand a bribe. When the powerful utters his evil desire, they all conspire together.

4Isaan keessaa ka mara caalaa «Addatama'a» jedhamu, akka qumi'uudu'uu ti; ka mara caalaa «Qajeela'a» jedhamu, qoree caalaa bada'a. Guyyaan Waaqi isaan adabu ka worri raagotaa dubbatane dhufeera; yennaan isaan waan te'anu wollaalanu amma.The best of them is like a brier; the most upright is sharper than a hedge of thorns. The day for your watchmen has come, the day of your visitation. Now is the time of their confusion.

5Nama hin addatin; jaala keetitti addii hin godhatin. Niitii teeti ta hanqafatee rattuuyyuu waan isii woliin dubbattu jecha keeti ifi eeggadhu.Do not rely on a friend; do not trust in a companion. Seal the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your arms.

6Ilmi abbaa ifii hin tuffata; intalti haadha ifii irratti, niitiin ilmaalle haadha dhirsa ifii irratti hin kaati; diinni namaa maatuma isaa keessaa hin te'an.For a son dishonors his father, a daughter rises against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man’s enemies are the members of his own household.

7Ani ammoo Mootii Waan Maraa addii hin godhadha; Waaqa fayyisaa kiyya hin eegadha; Waaqi kiyya naaf hin dhage'a.But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.

8Diina kiyya natti hin gammadin! Ani jigulle hin ka'a; dukkana keessa jiraadhulle Mootiin Waan Maraa ifa naaf hin te'a.Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will arise; though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.

9Ani waan isa yakkeef, haga inni haajaa kiyyaaf muraa naa kennutti, ani aarii isaa ta bobeettu hin ossadha. Inni gara ifaa na hin baasa; ani balchummaa isaa hin dhagga.Because I have sinned against Him, I must endure the rage of the LORD, until He argues my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me into the light; I will see His righteousness.

10Achiin duuba diinni kiyya ka, «Mootiin Waan Maraa Waaqi keeti eessa jira?» anaan jedhu, tana dhaggee hin qaanowa; ilti tiyya jinnana diina kiyyaa hin dhaggiti; ammaayyuu akka caffaa karaa keessaa miilaan irra hin sirbama.Then my enemy will see and will be covered with shame—she who said to me, “Where is the LORD your God?” My eyes will see her; at that time she will be trampled like mud in the streets.

11Guyyaan dalleya keessan ijaarattanu, guyyaan meessaa keessan badhifattanu hin dhufa.The day for rebuilding your walls will come—the day for extending your boundary.

12Guyyaa san namooti keessan biyya Asooriitii fi qachoota Gibxi'ii irraa, biyya Gibxi'iitii haga laga Efraaxiisii irralle'ee, abbaaya'aa haga abbaaya'aa irralle'ee, gaaraa haga gaaraa irralle'ee gara keessan hin dhufan.On that day they will come to you from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, even from Egypt to the Euphrates, from sea to sea and mountain to mountain.

13Sababa hujii worra isii keessa le'uutiif ammoo latti hin onti.Then the earth will become desolate because of its inhabitants, as the fruit of their deeds.

14Kolbaa teeti, worra hoolota teeti te'ane, ulee teetiin tissi! Isaan amma gongomaa keessa qofii ifii, lafa oorru'uu keessa le'an. Isaan akkuma bara durii, Baashaanii fi Giil'aad keessa dheedanuu ti.Shepherd with Your staff Your people, the flock of Your inheritance. They live alone in a woodland, surrounded by pastures. Let them graze in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

15Akkuma bara biyya Gibxi'ii keessaa isaan baattee, bilbaasa nutti mudhisi!As in the days when you came out of Egypt, I will show My wonders.

16Gosi biyya adda addaa yennaa bilbaasota kana dhaggane, hin qaanowan; hunna hin dhaban; afaan hin qabatan; gurri isaaniille hin duuda.Nations will see and be ashamed, deprived of all their might. They will put their hands over their mouths, and their ears will become deaf.

17Isaan akka bofaatii fi akka bineensota lafa irra lowanuu bukuu hin arraaban. Goda ifii keessaa rommaa hin bayan; soda'aan gara si Mootii Waan Maraa Waaqa keennaa hin deebi'an.They will lick the dust like a snake, like reptiles slithering on the ground. They will come trembling from their strongholds in the presence of the LORD our God; they will tremble in fear of You.

18Kolbaa ifii worra lubbu'uun hafeef, ka cubbuu isaanii lakkisee, yakkaa isaanii araaramuuf, Waaqi akka keetii eennu? Ati marartii mudhisiisatti gammadda malee aari'iin haga bara baraa hin turtu.Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance—who does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in loving devotion?

19Ati ammalle nu mararta; yakkaa teenna hin qulqulleessita; cubbuu teenna mara qilee abbaaya'aa keessa hin buutta.He will again have compassion on us; He will vanquish our iniquities. You will cast out all our sins into the depths of the sea.

20Ati akkuma bara durii abbootii teenna ta duriitiif kakatte, sanyii Yaaqoobiitiif addatamummaa, sanyii Abrahaamiitiifille marartii hin mudhitta.You will show faithfulness to Jacob and loving devotion to Abraham, as You swore to our fathers from the days of old.
