1. 1GMVEጎዳይ ኣጁታን ቦሌይ ያናይሳ ታና ቤሲዴስ፤ ሄኮ ካዎ ካꬂ ማጼቲ ዉሪዳፔ ጉዬ ጌዶራ ጫሪዳ ኣዛባ ካꬃ ቦላ ጾሲ ማቴ ቦሌይ ኬዛና ማላ ኦꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts just after the king’s harvest, as the late spring crop was coming up.
2. 2GMVEቦሌዚካ ቢታ ቦላ ዲዛ ጪሊላ ኡባ ፒቲ ሚዳይሳ ታኒ ቤያዳ፥ «ኡባፌ ዎልቃማ ጎዳዉ! ኔ ዴሬ ቆሆዛ ማራርኪ! ኔ ዴሬ ኢስራኤሌስ ዎልቃይ ባይንዳ ጊሻስ ኢዚ ሃይሳ ዎስቲ ኤቄቲ ዳንዳያኔ?» ጋ ዎሳዲስ።BSBBSB: And when the locusts had eaten every green plant in the land, I said, “Lord GOD, please forgive! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
3. 3GMVEጎዳይካ ኢስታስ ሚሼቲዲ፥ «ሃይሲ ኔ ቤኢዛይሲ ፖሌቴና» ጊዲ ታስ ዮቲዴስ።BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen,” He said.
4. 4GMVEኡባፌ ዎልቃማ ጎዳይ ታና ኣጁታ ቤሲዴስ፤ ጎዳይ ቃጻያናስ ታማ ፒርዳ ዬዲዴስ፤ ታማዚካ ዎጋ ጊታ ኣባ ሚቺዲ ቢታ ሙስ ኦይኪዴስ።BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: The Lord GOD was calling for judgment by fire. It consumed the great deep and devoured the land.
5. 5GMVEሄ ዎዴ ታኒ፥ «ኡባፌ ዎልቃማ ጎዳዉ! ሃይሳ ታማ ቶይሳርኪ! ኔ ዴሬ ኢስራኤሌስ ዎልቃይ ባይንዳ ጊሻስ ኢዚ ሃይሳ ዎስቲ ኤቄቲ ዳንዳያኔ?» ጋ ዎሳዲስ።BSBBSB: Then I said, “Lord GOD, please stop! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
6. 6GMVEጎዳይካ ኢስታስ ሚሼቲዲ፥ «ሃይሲ ኔ ቤኢዛይሲ ፖሌቴና» ጊዲ ታስ ዮቲዴስ።BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen either,” said the Lord GOD.
7. 7GMVEጎዳይ ታና ሃራ ኣጁታ ቤሲዴስ፤ ቱምቤን ሲቲ ጊ ኦሴቲዳ ጊምቤ ኣቻን ጾሲ ባ ኩሼን ቱምቤ ኦይኪ ኤቂዳይሳ ቤያዲስ።BSBBSB: This is what He showed me: Behold, the Lord was standing by a wall true to plumb, with a plumb line in His hand.
8. 8GMVEኢዚካ፥ «ኣሞጼ! ሄሲ ኔ ቤኢዛይሲ ኢዚ ኣዜ?» ጊ ኦይቺዴስ። ታኒካ፥ «ቱምቤኮ!» ጋዲስ። ጎዳይ ዛሪዲ ታስ፥ «ቱምቤን ሲቲ ጊ ኦሴቶንታ ጊምቤ ማላ ታ ዴሬ ኢስራኤሌይ ጌላቲዴስ፤ ሄሳ ጊሻስ ሃይሲ ቱምቤዚ ኢስራኤሌ ናይታ ጌላቴꬃ ቤሲዛ ሌሚሶ፤ ታኒካ ኢስታ ቃጻዮንታ ኣጊኬ።BSBBSB: “Amos, what do you see?” asked the LORD. “A plumb line,” I replied. “Behold,” said the Lord, “I am setting a plumb line among My people Israel; I will no longer spare them:
9. 9GMVEዪሳቂኔ ኢዛስ ናዛ ናይቲ ጎይኒዛ ꬎቃሶሆቲ ላሌታና፤ ኢስራኤሌ ናይቲ ጎይኒዛሶሆቲ ላሌታና፤ ኢዮርባኣሜ ካዎቴꬅ ታኒ ሙሌራ ꬋይሳና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: The high places of Isaac will be deserted, and the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with My sword.”
10. 10GMVEቤቴሌ ቄሴ ጊዲዳ ኣማሲያሲ ኢስራኤሌ ካዎ ኢዮርባኣሜኮ፥ «ሄኮ ኣሞጼይ ኢስራኤሌ ኣሳ ጊዶን ኡቲዲ ኔ ቦላ ኣሳ ዴንꬄꬄስ፤ ሄሳ ማላ ኦሶን ቢታ ሺሪ ዬጌስ።BSBBSB: Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent word to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words,
11. 11GMVEኢዚካ፥ ‹ኢዮርባኣሜይካ ኦላን ሃይቃና፤ ኢስራኤሌ ዴሬይ ባ ዴሬፔ ዲኤቲ ባና› ጌስ» ጊ ኪቲዴስ።BSBBSB: for this is what Amos has said: ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
12. 12GMVEኣማሲያሲ ኣሞጼስ፥ «ኔኖ ኣጁታ ቤኢዛይሶ! ሃይሳፌ ዴንዳ ኪቻ፤ ዱጌ ዩሁዳ ቢታ ባዳ ሄን ቲንቢቴ ዮታሼ ኔስ ሚዛ ሚሽ ዴማ።BSBBSB: And Amaziah said to Amos, “Go away, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah; earn your bread there and do your prophesying there.
13. 13GMVEቤቴሌይ ጊዲኮ ካዎይ ጎይኒዛሶኔ ካዎ ዱሳሶ ጊዲዳ ጊሻስ ቲንቢቴ ዮቶፓ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: But never prophesy at Bethel again, because it is the sanctuary of the king and the temple of the kingdom.”
14. 14GMVEኣሞጼይ ኣማሲያሳስ፥ «ታኒ ዉዴ ሜሄ ሄሚዛዴኔ ኤꬃ ኣይፌ ማጺዛዴ ኣቲን ታ ሁኤስ ናቤ ዎይኮ ናቤ ና ጊዲኬ።BSBBSB: “I was not a prophet,” Amos replied, “nor was I the son of a prophet; rather, I was a herdsman and a tender of sycamore-fig trees.
15. 15GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ጎዳይ ሜሄ ሄሚዛሶሆፔ ታና ጼይጊዲ፥ ‹ባ! ታ ዴሬ ኢስራኤሌስ ቲንቢቴ ዮታ› ጊዲ ኣዛዚዳይ ጎዳ።BSBBSB: But the LORD took me from following the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’
16. 16GMVE«ሃኢካ ጎዳይ ኔና ጊዛይሳ ሲያ፤ ኔኒ ታና፥ ‹ኢስራኤሌ ኣሳ ቦላ ቲንቢቴ ዮቶፓ፤ ዪሳቃ ዜሬꬅ ጊዲዳ ኢስራኤሌ ዴሬዛካ ሳባኮፓ› ጋ ዲጋዳሳ።BSBBSB: Now, therefore, hear the word of the LORD. You say: ‘Do not prophesy against Israel; do not preach against the house of Isaac.’
17. 17GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ኣማሲያሳ! ኔ ጊሻስ ጎዳይ፥ ‹ኔ ማቼያ ካታማ ጊዶን ላይማ ማጫስ ጊዳና፤ ኔስ ማጫ ናይቲኔ ኣቱማ ናይቲካ ኦላን ሃይቃና፤ ኣላጋቲ ኔ ቢታ ዎዶሮን ዋꬊ ጊሼቲ ኤካና፤ ኔኒካ ኣላጋ ቢታን ሃይቃና፤ ኢስራኤሌ ኣሳይ ባ ቢታፌ ዲኤቲዲ ኣላጋ ዴሬ ባና› ጌስ» ጊ ዮቲዴስ።BSBBSB: Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring line, and you yourself will die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
