1. 1GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ጾሲ ያቆቤ፥ «ዴንዳዳ ፑዴ ቤቴሌ ባዳ ሄን ዴኣ፤ ኔኒ ኔ ኢሻ ኤሳዌፔ ባቃቲዛ ዎዴ ኔስ ቆንጪዳ ጾሳስ ሄን ያርሾ ያርሺዛሶ ጊጊሳ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel, and settle there. Build an altar there to the God who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.”
2. 2GMVEያቆቤይካ ባሶ ኣሳኔ ባናራ ዲዛ ኣሳ ኡባ፥ «ኢንቴ ጊዶን ዲዛ ኣላጋ ኤቃ ሚስሌታ ዲጊቴ፤ ኢንቴ ቦላ ጌሺቴ፤ ኢንቴ ማይኦካ ላሚቴ።BSBBSB: So Jacob told his household and all who were with him, “Get rid of the foreign gods that are among you. Purify yourselves and change your garments.
3. 3GMVEኣኔ ዴንዲዲ ፑዴ ቤቴሌ ቦስ፤ ታ ሜቶቲዳ ጋላስ ታኒ ጊዛ ሲዪዲ ታኒ ቢዳ ኡባሶን ታናራ ጊዲዳ ጾሳስ ታኒ ሄን ያርሾ ያርሺዛሶ ጊጊሳና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Then let us arise and go to Bethel. I will build an altar there to God, who answered me in my day of distress. He has been with me wherever I have gone.”
4. 4GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ኢስቲ ባ ኣቻን ዲዛ ሃራ ዴሬ ኣሳ ኤቃ ሚስሌታ ኡባኔ ባ ሃይꬃን ዲዛ ጉቲቻ ኡባ ኬሲዲ ያቆቤስ ኢሚን ያቆቤይ ሄይታ ሴኬሜን ዲዛ ዎላ ጋርሳን ሞጊዴስ።BSBBSB: So they gave Jacob all their foreign gods and all their earrings, and Jacob buried them under the oak near Shechem.
5. 5GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ኢስታ ዩሾን ዲዛ ካታማ ኡባ ኣሳ ቦላ ጾሳፌ ዳጋማይኔ ያሻቴꬂ ዎꬊዳ ጊሻስ ያቆቤይኔ ኢዛ ኣቱማ ናይቲ ዴንዲዲ ቢሺን ኦኒካ ኢስታ ኦይካናስ ካሊቤና።BSBBSB: As they set out, a terror from God fell over the surrounding cities, so that they did not pursue Jacob’s sons.
6. 6GMVEያቆቤይኔ ኢዛራ ዲዛ ኣሳይ ዉሪ ካናኔ ቢታን ዲዛ ቤቴሌ ጌቴቲዛ ሎዛ ጋኪዳ።BSBBSB: So Jacob and everyone with him arrived in Luz (that is, Bethel) in the land of Canaan.
7. 7GMVEሄን ኢዚ ያርሾ ያርሺዛሶ ኬጺዲ ሄ ሶሆዛ ኤሊ-ቤቴሌ ጊ ሱንꬂዴስ፤ ኣይስ ጊኮ ኢዚ ባ ኢሻፔ ባቃቲዲ ቢዛ ዎዴ ጾሲ ኢዛስ ቆንጪዳ ሶሆ ጊዲዳ ጊሻሳ።BSBBSB: There Jacob built an altar, and he called that place El-bethel, because it was there that God had revealed Himself to Jacob as he fled from his brother.
8. 8GMVEኢርቢቃ ዲቺዳ ዲቦራይ ሄን ሃይቃዳ ቤቴሌፔ ዱጌ ባጋራ ዲዛ ዎላ ጋርሳን ኢዛ ሞጌታዱስ፤ ሄሳ ጊሻስ ሄ ሚꬃ ሱንꬂ ኣሌም-ባኩቴ ጌቴቲዴስ።BSBBSB: Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died and was buried under the oak below Bethel. So Jacob named it Allon-bacuth.
9. 9GMVEያቆቤይ ሜስጴጾሚያፔ ሲሚዳፔ ጉዬ ጾሲ ኢዛስ ቃሴካ ቆንጪዲ ኢዛ ኣንጂዴስ፤BSBBSB: After Jacob had returned from Paddan-aram, God appeared to him again and blessed him.
10. 10GMVEጾሲ ኢዛ፥ «ሃኢ ጋካናስ ኔ ሱንꬂ ያቆቤ፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ሃይሳፌ ጉዬ ሙሌካ ያቆቤ ጌቴታካ፤ ኔ ሱንꬂ ኢስራኤሌ ጌቴታና» ጊዲ ኢዚ ኢዛ ኢስራኤሌ ጊ ሱንꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: And God said to him, “Though your name is Jacob, you will no longer be called Jacob. Instead, your name will be Israel.” So God named him Israel.
11. 11GMVEቃሴ ጾሲ ያቆቤ፥ «ታኒ ኡባ ዳንዳይዛ ጾሳ፤ ኔኒ ዬሌታ፤ ጮራታ፤ ዴሬይኔ ዴሬ ማባራይ ኔፔ ኬዛና፤ ካዎቲካ ኔ ጉልባቴፔ ኬዛና።BSBBSB: And God told him, “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation—even a company of nations—shall come from you, and kings shall descend from you.
12. 12GMVEታኒ ኣብራሃሜሲኔ ዪሳቃስ ኢሚዳ ቢታ ቃሴ ኔስ ኢማና፤ ኔፔ ጉዬካ ታኒ ሃ ቢታ ኔ ዜሬꬃስ ኢማና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: The land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac I will give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you.”
13. 13GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ጾሲ ኢዛራ ሃሳይዳ ሶሆፔ ፑዴ ቢዴስ።BSBBSB: Then God went up from the place where He had spoken with him.
14. 14GMVEያቆቤይ ጾሲ ባናራ ሃሳይዳ ሶሆን ሹች ኤሲዲ ኢዛ ቦላ ኡሻ ያርሾ ጉሲዴስ፤ ዛይቴካ ኢዛ ቦላ ቲጊዴስ።BSBBSB: So Jacob set up a pillar in the place where God had spoken with him—a stone marker—and he poured out a drink offering on it and anointed it with oil.
15. 15GMVEያቆቤይ ጾሲ ባናራ ሃሳይዳ ሶሆዛ፥ «ቤቴሌ» ጊ ሱንꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: Jacob called the place where God had spoken with him Bethel.
16. 16GMVEኢስቲ ሄሳፌ ጉዬ ቤቴሌፔ ዴንዲ ኤፍራታ ጋካናስ ጉꬅ ኣሺዳ ማላ ኤራሄሎ ዎልቃማ ሚጻይ ኦይኪዴስ።BSBBSB: Later, they set out from Bethel, and while they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth, and her labor was difficult.
17. 17GMVEሚጻይ ኢዞ ዋዪሲን ኢዞ ዬሊሲዛራ፥ «ባቦፋ፤ ሃይሲካ ኣቱማ ና» ጋዱስ።BSBBSB: During her severe labor, the midwife said to her, “Do not be afraid, for you are having another son.”
18. 18GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዛ ሃይቃ ሼምፖ ኬዚሺን ባ ና ቤኒ-ኦኔ ጋ ሱንꬃዱስ፤ ያቆቤይ ኢዛ ቢኒያሜ ጊ ሱንꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: And with her last breath—for she was dying—she named him Ben-oni. But his father called him Benjamin.
19. 19GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ኤራሄላ ሃይቃዳ ቤቴሊሄሜ ጊዛ ኤፍራታ ኤፊዛ ኦጌ ዶናን ሞጌታዱስ።BSBBSB: So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).
20. 20GMVEያቆቤይ ኢዚ ዱፎን ሃዉልቴ ሹች ኤሲዴስ፤ ሄ ሃዉልቴ ሹቻይ ሃች ጋካናስካ ኤራሄሊ ዱፎ ማላታ ጊዲ ዴስ።BSBBSB: Jacob set up a pillar on her grave; it marks Rachel’s tomb to this day.
21. 21GMVEኢስራኤሌይ ሄፔ ዴንዲዲ ኤዴራ ጊምቤፌ ሄ ፒንꬃን ባ ዱንካኔዛ ቶኪዴስ።BSBBSB: Israel again set out and pitched his tent beyond the Tower of Eder.
22. 22GMVEኢስራኤሌይ ሄ ቢታን ዲሺን ኦሮቤሌይ ቢዲ ባ ኣዋስ ዬሊዳ ኣይሌ ቢሊሃራ ዚንኢዴስ፤ ኢስራኤሌይካ ሃ ዮኦዛ ሲዪዴስ። ያቆቤ ኣቱማ ናይቲ ታማኔ ናምኣ። ኢስቲካ፥BSBBSB: While Israel was living in that region, Reuben went in and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it. Jacob had twelve sons:
23. 23GMVEሊያ ናይቲ ያቆቤ ባይራ ና ኦሮቤሌ፥ ሲሞና፥ ሌዌ፥ ዩሁዳ፥ ዪሳኮሬኔ ዛቢሎኔ።BSBBSB: The sons of Leah were Reuben the firstborn of Jacob, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.
24. 24GMVEኤራሄሊ ኣቱማ ናይቲ ዮሴፌኔ ቢኒያሜ።BSBBSB: The sons of Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin.
25. 25GMVEኤራሄሊ ኣይሌ ቢሊሃ ኣቱማ ናይቲ ዳኔኔ ኒፍታሌሜ።BSBBSB: The sons of Rachel’s maidservant Bilhah were Dan and Naphtali.
26. 26GMVEሊያ ኦሳንቻ ዚልፊ ኣቱማ ናይቲ ጋዴኔ ኣሴሬ። ሃይቲ ማሶጴጾምያን ያቆቤስ ዬሌቲዳ ኢዛ ኣቱማ ናይታ።BSBBSB: And the sons of Leah’s maidservant Zilpah were Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Paddan-aram.
27. 27GMVEያቆቤይ ባ ኣዋይ ዲዛሶ ማሚሬ ጌቴቲዛሶ ዪዴስ፤ ሄሲካ ኣብራሃሜይኔ ዪሳቂ ካሴ ዴዪዳ ቂሪያቴ-ኣርባኤ ዎይኮ ኬብሮኔ ጌቴቲዛሶ።BSBBSB: Jacob returned to his father Isaac at Mamre, near Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had stayed.
28. 28GMVEዪሳቂ 180 ላይꬅ ዴኢዴስ፤BSBBSB: And Isaac lived 180 years.
29. 29GMVEኢዚ ዳሮ ዎዴ ዴኢዲ ኬሂ ጪሚ ሃይቂዲ ባ ኣዋታን ጋጊዴስ፤ ኢዛ ናይቲ ኤሳዌይኔ ያቆቤይ ኢዛ ሞጊዳ።BSBBSB: Then he breathed his last and died and was gathered to his people, old and full of years. And his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
