1. 1GMVEዮሴፌይ ጌሊዲ ጊብጼ ካዎስ፥ «ታ ኣዋይኔ ታ ኢሻቲ ባ ዶርሳታራ፥ ባ ሚዛታራ ባስ ዲዛዝ ኡባ ኤኪዲ ካናኔ ቢታፌ ዪዲ፥ ሃኢ ጌሴሜ ቢታን ዴቴስ» ጊ ዮቲዴስ።BSBBSB: So Joseph went and told Pharaoh: “My father and my brothers, with their flocks and herds and all they own, have come from the land of Canaan and are now in Goshen.”
2. 2GMVEኢዚ ባ ኢሻታፔ ኢቻሻታ ዶሪዲ ካዎዛ ሲንꬅ ኣꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: And he chose five of his brothers and presented them before Pharaoh.
3. 3GMVEካዎይ ሄ ኢሻታ፥ «ኢንቴ ኦሶይ ኣዜ?» ጊ ኦይቺን ኢስቲ ካዎዛስ፥ «ኑኒ ኔ ኣይሌቲ ኑ ኣዋታꬆ ዶርሳ ሄሞስ» ጊ ዮቲዳ።BSBBSB: “What is your occupation?” Pharaoh asked Joseph’s brothers. “Your servants are shepherds,” they replied, “both we and our fathers.”
4. 4GMVEቃሴ ኢስቲ ኢዛስ፥ «ካናኔ ቢታን ኮሻይ ዳሪዳ ጊሻስ ኑስ ኔ ኣይሌታ ሜሄታስ ሚዛ ሚሺ ኣይኮካ ባይንዳ ጊሻስ፥ ኑኒ ሃይሳን ኢማꬃቴꬃን ዳና ዪዶስ፤ ሾቤ ኑና ኔ ኣይሌታ ጌሴሜን ዎꬃርኪ!» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: Then they said to Pharaoh, “We have come to live in the land for a time, because there is no pasture for the flocks of your servants, since the famine in the land of Canaan has been severe. So now, please allow your servants to settle in the land of Goshen.”
5. 5GMVEካዎይ ዮሴፌ፥ «ኔ ኣዋይኔ ኔ ኢሻቲ ኔኮ ዪዳ።BSBBSB: Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Now that your father and brothers have come to you,
6. 6GMVEሂስቲን ጊብጼ ዴሬይ ኔ ኩሼን ዴስ ጊዴኔ፤ ሃ ቢታን ኡባፌ ኣꬊዲ ሎኢዛሶን ኔ ኣዋኔ ኔ ኢሻታ ዎꬃ፤ ኢስቲ ጌሴሜ ቢታን ዴቶ። ኢስታ ጊዶፌ ዱማ ኤራቴꬂ ዲዛይታ ኔ ኤሪዛ ጊዲኮ ሄይታ ታ ሜሄታ ቦላ ሹማ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: the land of Egypt is before you; settle your father and brothers in the best part of the land. They may dwell in the land of Goshen. And if you know of any talented men among them, put them in charge of my own livestock.”
7. 7GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ዮሴፌይ ባ ኣዋ ያቆቤ ጌልꬂዲ ካዎ ሲንꬅ ኣꬂዴስ። ያቆቤይ ጊብጼ ካዎ ኣንጂዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Joseph brought in his father Jacob and presented him before Pharaoh, and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.
8. 8GMVEካዎይካ ያቆቤ፥ «ኔስ ኣፑን ላይꬄ?» ጊ ኦይቺዴስ።BSBBSB: “How many years have you lived?” Pharaoh asked.
9. 9GMVEያቆቤይ ካዎዛስ፥ «ታኒ ዩያ ዩያ ዴዪዳ ላይꬃይ 130፤ ታ ላይꬃይ ቤኒ ታ ኣዋቲ ዩዪ ዩዪ ዴዪዳ ላይꬃታፔ ጉꬃኔ ሜቶይ ዳሪዳ ላይꬃ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: “My travels have lasted 130 years,” Jacob replied. “My years have been few and hard, and they have not matched the years of the travels of my fathers.”
10. 10GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ያቆቤይ ካዎዛ ኣንጂዲ ኢዛ ሲንꬃፌ ካሬ ኬዚዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Jacob blessed Pharaoh and departed from his presence.
11. 11GMVEዮሴፌይ ባ ኣዋኔ ባ ኢሻታ ጊብጼ ቢታን ዎꬂዴስ፤ ካዎይ ኣዛዚዳ ማላ ጊብጼ ቢታን ኤራሚሴ ኣቻን ዲዛ ኡባሶፔ ኣꬊዲ ሎኢዛ ጋዴ ኢስታስ ኢሚዴስ።BSBBSB: So Joseph settled his father and brothers in the land of Egypt and gave them property in the best part of the land, the district of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.
12. 12GMVEዮሴፌይ ቃሴ ባ ኣዋስ፥ ባ ኢሻታሲኔ ባ ኣዋ ሶ ኣሳ ኡባስ ኢስታ ናይታ ቆዳ ማላ ካꬅ ኢሚዴስ።BSBBSB: Joseph also provided his father and brothers and all his father’s household with food for their families.
13. 13GMVEጊዲኮካ ኮሻይ ዳሪዳ ጊሻስ ቢታ ኡባ ቦላ ካꬂ ꬋይዴስ። ሄ ኮሻን ጊብጼ ዴሬይኔ ካናኔ ዴሬይ ናምኣይካ ቆሄቲዳ።BSBBSB: There was no food, however, in all that region, because the famine was so severe; the lands of Egypt and Canaan had been exhausted by the famine.
14. 14GMVEዮሴፌይ ጊብጼ ካꬅ ባይዚዲ ጊብጼኒኔ ካናኔ ቢታን ዲዛ ሚሽ ኡባ ሺሺዲ ጊብጼ ካዎ ኬꬅ ጌልꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: Joseph collected all the money to be found in the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan in exchange for the grain they were buying, and he brought it into Pharaoh’s palace.
15. 15GMVEጊብጼ ሚሻይኔ ካናኔ ሚሻይ ኡባይ ዉሪን ጊብጼ ኣሳይ ዉሪ ዮሴፌኮ ዪዲ ኢዛ፥ «ኑስ ካꬅ ኢማ፤ ኑ ሚሻይ ዉሪዳ ጊሻስ ኑኒ ኔ ዲሺን ኣይስ ሃይቂዞኒ?» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: When the money from the lands of Egypt and Canaan was gone, all the Egyptians came to Joseph and said, “Give us food. Why should we die before your eyes? For our funds have run out!”
16. 16GMVEሂስቲን ዮሴፌይ ኢስታስ፥ «ኢንቴ ሜሄ ኤኪ ዪቴ፤ ኢንቴ ሚሻይ ዉሪዳ ጊዲኮ ታኒ ካꬅ ኢንቴስ ሜሄራ ላማና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: “Then bring me your livestock,” said Joseph. “Since the money is gone, I will sell you food in exchange for your livestock.”
17. 17GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ኢስቲ ባ ሜሄ ዮሴፌስ ኤሂን ዮሴፌይ ኢስታ ፓራ፥ ዶርሳ፥ ዴይሼ፥ ሚዚኔ ሃሬ ካꬃራ ላሚዴስ፤ ኢዚ ሄ ላይꬅ ኢስታ ሜሄ ኡባራ ካꬅ ላሚ ላሚ ሚዚ ሻቺዴስ።BSBBSB: So they brought their livestock to Joseph, and he gave them food in exchange for their horses, their flocks and herds, and their donkeys. Throughout that year he provided them with food in exchange for all their livestock.
18. 18GMVEሄ ላይꬃይ ዉሪን ናምኣንꬆ ላይꬃን ኢስቲ ኢዛኮ ዪዲ ኢዛስ፥ «ኑኒ ኑ ጎዳፔ ቆቲዛ ሚሺ ዴና፤ ኑ ሚሻይ ዉሪዴስ፤ ኑስ ዲዛ ሜሄካ ኡባ ኔስ ሼꬊዶስ፤ ኑ ጎዳስ ኔስ ኑናቴꬃፌኔ ኑ ጋዴፔ ኣቲን ኑ ኢማና ሚሺ ሃራይ ዴና።BSBBSB: When that year was over, they came to him the second year and said, “We cannot hide from our lord that our money is gone and all our livestock belongs to you. There is nothing left for our lord except our bodies and our land.
19. 19GMVEኔ ዲሺን ኑ ኣይስ ሃይቂዞኒ? ኑ ጋዴይካ ኣይስ ꬋይዜ? ኑናካ ኑ ጋዴዛካ ካꬃራ ላማ፤ ኑኒ ካዎስ ኣይሌታና፤ ኑ ጋዴይካ ኢዛስ ጊዶ፤ ኑኒ ሃይቆንታ ዴኦን ዳና ማላኔ ኑ ጋዴይካ ኦጾንታ ማላ ዜሬꬅ ኑስ ኢማ» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: Why should we perish before your eyes—we and our land as well? Purchase us and our land in exchange for food. Then we, along with our land, will be slaves to Pharaoh. Give us seed that we may live and not die, and that the land may not become desolate.”
20. 20GMVEዮሴፌይ ጊብጼ ቢታ ኡባ ካዎስ ሻሚዴስ። ጊብጼቲ ዉሪ ኮሻይ ሚኒዳ ጊሻስ ባ ጋዴዛ ባይዚን ጋዴዚ ካዎስ ጊዲዴስ።BSBBSB: So Joseph acquired for Pharaoh all the land in Egypt; the Egyptians, one and all, sold their fields because the famine was so severe upon them. The land became Pharaoh’s,
21. 21GMVEዮሴፌይ ጊብጼ ኣሳ ኡባ ሃ ጋጻፔ ዶሚዲ ሄ ጋጻ ጋካናስ ካዎስ ኣይሌ ኬሲዴስ።BSBBSB: and Joseph reduced the people to servitude from one end of Egypt to the other.
22. 22GMVEጊዲኮካ ካዎይ ቄሴታስ ካꬅ ኢሚዛ ጊሻስ ቄሴታ ጋዴ ሻሚቤና። ሄሳ ጊሻስ ቄሴቲ ባ ጋዴ ባይዚቤቴና።BSBBSB: However, he did not acquire the priests’ portion of the land, for it had been given to them by Pharaoh. They ate the rations that Pharaoh supplied; so they did not sell their land.
23. 23GMVEዮሴፌይ ኣሳ፥ «ሂስቲን ሃች ታኒ ኢንቴናኔ ኢንቴ ጋዴ ካዎስ ሻሚዳ ጊሻስ ዜሬꬅ ኤኪዲ ኢንቴ ጋዴን ጋዴን ዜሪቴ።BSBBSB: Then Joseph said to the people, “Now that I have acquired you and your land for Pharaoh this day, here is seed for you to sow in the land.
24. 24GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ካꬅ ማጺ ጌልꬂዛ ዎዴ ካꬃፌ ኢቻሹ ኩሼፔ ኢሲ ኩሼ ካዎስ ኢሚቴ። ኢቻሽ ኩሼፔ ኣቲዳ ኦይዱ ኩሼዚ ኢንቴ ጋዴስ ዜሬꬅ፥ ኢንቴሶ ኣሳሲኔ ኢንቴ ናይታስ ቁማ ጊዶ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: At harvest time, you are to give a fifth of it to Pharaoh, and four-fifths will be yours as seed for the field and food for yourselves and your households and children.”
25. 25GMVEሂስቲን ኢስቲ፥ «ኔኒ ኑና ኣሻዳሳ! ኑ ጎዳ ሲንꬃን ኑኒ ናሼቲዳ ጊዲኮ ኑ ካዎስ ኣይሌ ጊዳና» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: “You have saved our lives,” they said. “We have found favor in our lord’s eyes, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.”
26. 26GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ዮሴፌይ ጊብጼ ቢታን ካጺዳ ካꬃስ ኢቻሽ ኩሼፔ ኢሲ ኩሼ ካዎስ ኢሚዛይሲ ዎጋ ጊዳና ማላ ኦꬂዴስ። ሄ ዎጋዚካ ሃች ጋካናስ ኤቂ ዴስ። ካዎስ ጊዶንታ ጋዴይ ቄሴታ ጋዴ ጻላ።BSBBSB: So Joseph established a law that a fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh, and it is in effect in the land of Egypt to this day. Only the priests’ land does not belong to Pharaoh.
27. 27GMVEኢስራኤሌቲ ጊብጼ ቢታን ጌሴሜ ጌቴቲዛሶን ኡቲዳ፤ ኢስቲ ሄን ኣቆታ ዴሚዳ፤ ኢስቲ ዬሌቲዳኔ ዳሮ ጮራቲዳ።BSBBSB: Now the Israelites settled in the land of Egypt, in the region of Goshen. They acquired property there and became fruitful and increased greatly in number.
28. 28GMVEያቆቤይ ጊብጼ ቢታን 17 ላይꬅ ዴኢዴስ። ያቆቤይ ዴኢዳ ላይꬃይ ኢሲ ጼታኔ ኦይዱ ታማኔ ላፑና።BSBBSB: And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years, and the length of his life was 147 years.
29. 29GMVEያቆቤስ ሃይቆ ዎዴይ ማቲን ባ ና ዮሴፌ ጼይጊሲዲ፥ «ታኒ ኔ ሲንꬃን ሳቤቲዳ ጊዲኮ ኔ ኩሼ ታ ጉልባቴ ቦላ ዎꬃዳ ኔኒ ታስ ኪያታናሲኔ ኣማኔታናስ ኣኔ ጫቃ። ታና ጊብጼን ሞጎፓ።BSBBSB: When the time drew near for Israel to die, he called his son Joseph and said to him, “If I have found favor in your eyes, put your hand under my thigh and promise to show me kindness and faithfulness. Do not bury me in Egypt,
30. 30GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ታኒ ታ ኣዋታን ጋጊዛ ዎዴ ታና ጊብጼፔ ኤፋዳ ኢስቲ ሞጌቲዳሶን ሞጋ» ጊዴስ። ሂስቲን ዮሴፌይ፥ «ታኒ ኔና ኔኒ ጊዳ ማላ ኦꬃና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: but when I lie down with my fathers, carry me out of Egypt and bury me with them.” Joseph answered, “I will do as you have requested.”
31. 31GMVEያቆቤይ ኢዛ፥ «ኣኔ ታስ ጫቃ» ጊዴስ። ዮሴፌይካ ኢዛስ ጫቂዴስ፤ ሄሳፌ ጉዬ ያቆቤይ ባ ሂጻን ጉፋኒዲ ጾሳስ ጎይኒዴስ።BSBBSB: “Swear to me,” Jacob said. So Joseph swore to him, and Israel bowed in worship at the head of his bed.
