1. 1GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ፋርሳዌቲኔ ዬሩሳላሜፔ ዪዳ ኢሲ ኢሲ ጻፌቲ ዬሱሳ ላንቄን ዩዪ ኣꬊዳ።BSBBSB: Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus,
2. 2GMVEዬሱሳ ካሊዛይታፔ ባጋይቲ ሜጬቶንታ ቂታ ኩሼራ ካꬅ ሚሺን ቤኢዳ።BSBBSB: and they saw some of His disciples eating with hands that were defiled—that is, unwashed.
3. 3GMVEፋርሳዌቲኔ ካሴ ጪማ ኣይሁዳ ኣሳቲ ካሴ ዴሬ ዎጋ ናጋናስ ኩሼ ሎኤꬂ ሜጬቶንታ ካꬅ ሚ ኤሬቴና።BSBBSB: Now in holding to the tradition of the elders, the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat until they wash their hands ceremonially.
4. 4GMVEጊያ ቢ ሲሚኮካ ቦላ ሜጬቲ ጌዮንታ ዲሼ ካꬅ ሚ ኤሬቴና። ሄሳꬆካ ዋንጫካ፥ ኦቶካ፥ ኬሬካ፥ ኢቺዛ ሂꬄካ ሜቻ ማላ ሃራ ዎጋታካ ናጌቴስ።BSBBSB: And on returning from the market, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions for them to observe, including the washing of cups, pitchers, kettles, and couches for dining.
5. 5GMVEፋርሳዌቲኔ ጻፌቲ ዬሱሳ፥ «ኔና ካሊዛይቲ ካሴ ኣዋታ ዎጋ ማላ ዱስ ኣጊዲ ኣዛስ ኩሼ ሜጬቶንታ ካꬅ ሚዞ?» ጊዲ ኦይቺዳ።BSBBSB: So the Pharisees and scribes questioned Jesus: “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders? Instead, they eat with defiled hands.”
6. 6GMVEኢዚካ ኢስታስ፥ «ኢሳያሲ ቆꬌፔ ቆሞን ሃኒዛ ኢንቴ ጊሻስ፥ ‹ሃይሲ ዴሬይ ባ ሜቴርሻን ጻላላ ታና ቦንቼስ፤ ዎዚናይ ጊዲኮ ታፔ ሃኪዴስ።BSBBSB: Jesus answered them, “Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.
7. 7GMVEታስ ሜላ ሃዳ ጎይኔስ፤ ኢስታ ቲሚርቴይካ ኣሲ ዎꬂዳ ዎጋ ጻላ› ጊዲ ዮቲዳይሲ ቱማ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’
8. 8GMVEጾሳ ዎጋ ኣጊዲ ኣሲ ዎꬂዳ ዎጋ ናጌቴስ።BSBBSB: You have disregarded the commandment of God to keep the tradition of men.”
9. 9GMVEቃሴካ፥ «ኢንቴ ዎጋስ ጊዲ ጾሳ ዎጋ ኢንቴ ኣጋጊዛ ጪንጫቴꬃ ኦጌይ ኢንቴስ ዴስ።BSBBSB: He went on to say, “You neatly set aside the command of God to maintain your own tradition.
10. 10GMVEኣይስ ጊኮ ሙሴይ፥ ‹ኔ ኣዮኔ ኔ ኣዋ ቦንቻ፤ ባ ኣዮኔ ባ ኣዋ ጫዪዛዴይ ሙሌካ ሃይቆ› ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’
11. 11GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ኢንቴ ቃሴ፥ ‹ኢሲ ኣሲ ባ ኣዋ ዎይኮ ባ ኣዮ ኢንቴ ታፔ ዴማናስ ኮሺዛ ማዶ ታ ጾሳስ ኢማዲስ› ጊኮ፥BSBBSB: But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever you would have received from me is Corban’ (that is, a gift devoted to God),
12. 12GMVEኢንቴ ቃሴ ሃይሳዴይ ባ ኣዋስካ ባ ኣዬይሲ ሃራ ኣይኮካ ኦꬃና ማላ ኮዬኬታ።BSBBSB: he is no longer permitted to do anything for his father or mother.
13. 13GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ኢንቴ ዎጋ ናጋና ጊዲ ጾሳ ቃላ ላሜታ። ሄይታንታ ሚሳቲዛ ዳሮታ ኦꬄታ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Thus you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so in many such matters.”
14. 14GMVEቃሴካ ዬሱሲ ኣሳ ባኮ ጼይጊዲ፥ «ዉሪካ ታ ጊዛ ሲዪቴኔ ዎዚናን ዎꬂቴ።BSBBSB: Once again Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “All of you, listen to Me and understand:
15. 15GMVEካሬፔ ኡሎ ጊዶ ጌሊዲ ኣስ ቱኒሲዛ ኢሲ ሚሺካ ዴና፤ ሃራፔካ ኣሴ ቱኒሲዛይ ኬꬃ ኣዋፔ ጌዴ ካሬ ኬዚዛ ሚሻ።BSBBSB: Nothing that enters a man from the outside can defile him; but the things that come out of a man, these are what defile him.”

17. 17GMVEኢዚ ኣሳ ካሬን ኣጊዲ ኬꬄ ጌሊን ኢዛ ካሊዛይቲ ኢዚ ዮቲዳ ሌሚሶዛ ቢርሼꬅ ዬሱሳ ኦይቺዳ።BSBBSB: After Jesus had left the crowd and gone into the house, His disciples inquired about the parable.
18. 18GMVEኢዚካ ኢስታ፥ «ኢንቴስካ ዮኦይ ጌሌኔ? ካሬፔ ጌሊዲ ኣሴ ቱኒሲዛ ሚሺ ኣዚካ ዴና።BSBBSB: “Are you still so dull?” He asked. “Do you not understand? Nothing that enters a man from the outside can defile him,
19. 19GMVEካሬፔ ጌሊዛይ ጌዴ ዎዚናን ጊዶንታ ዱጌ ቃንꬃ ጊዶ ጌሌስ፤ ቃሴ ሄፔ ኢዛዴ ኣሳቴꬃፌ ጌዴ ካሬ ኬዜስ» ጊዴስ፤ ዬሱሲ ሄሳ ጊዳይ ኣሲ ሚዛ ካꬂ ዉሪካ ጌሽ ጊዲዳይሳ ቆንጪሳናሳ።BSBBSB: because it does not enter his heart, but it goes into the stomach and then is eliminated.” (Thus all foods are clean.)
20. 20GMVEካሌꬂዲካ፥ «ኣሳፔ ኬዚዛዚ ኣሴ ቱኒሴስ።BSBBSB: He continued: “What comes out of a man, that is what defiles him.
21. 21GMVEኣሳ ዎዚና ጊዶፌ ኬዚዛይ ኢታ ቆፋታ፥ ላይማ ኣሞኔ ካይሶቴꬅ፥ ኣሴ ዎꬎ፥ ላይማቴꬅ፥BSBBSB: For from within the hearts of men come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,
22. 22GMVEዪቄቴꬅ፥ ኢታቴꬅ፥ ባሌꬆ፥ ላይማ ካስ፥ ቃናቴቴꬅ፥ ኣሳ ሱንꬅ ሞሮ፥ ኦቶሬቴꬂኔ ኣዛላ።BSBBSB: greed, wickedness, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, arrogance, and foolishness.
23. 23GMVEሃይቲ ኢታ ሃኖቲ ዉሪ ኣሳፔ ኬዜቴሲኔ ኣሴ ቱኒሴቴስ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: All these evils come from within, and these are what defile a man.”
24. 24GMVEዬሱሲ ሄፔ ኬዚዲ ጺሮሴ ጌቴቲዛ ዴሬ ቢዴስ፤ ሄን ኢሳዴ ኬꬄ ጌሊዲ ኢዚ ሄን ዲዛይሳ ኣሲ ኤሮንታ ማላ ኮዪዴስ። ጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዚ ሄን ኢዛ ዱሳይ ቆቴታናስ ዳንዳዬቲቤና።BSBBSB: Jesus left that place and went to the region of Tyre. Not wanting anyone to know He was there, He entered a house, but was unable to escape their notice.
25. 25GMVEሄራካ ኢሲ ቱና ኣያናይ ኦይኪዳ ጉꬃ ና ዲዛሪ ኣያ ዬሱሲ ሄን ዲዛይሳ ሲያዳ ኢዛኮ ያዳ ኢዛ ቶሆ ቦላ ኩንዳዱስ።BSBBSB: Instead, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit soon heard about Jesus, and she came and fell at His feet.
26. 26GMVEማጫሳያ ጊሪኬ ቃላ ሃሳይዛ ማጫስ ሺን ኢዛ ዬሌቲዳሶይ ሲሮፊንቄ ጌቴቴስ። ኢዛካ ዬሱሲ ናይፔ ቱና ኣያና ኬሳና ማላ ዎሳዱስ።BSBBSB: Now she was a Greek woman of Syrophoenician origin, and she kept asking Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.
27. 27GMVEዬሱሲ ዛሪዲ ኢዚስ፥ «ናይታ ቁማ ኤኪ ካናስ ዬጋናስ ቤሶንታ ጊሻስ ኮይሮ ናይቲ ሚ ካሌቶ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: “First let the children have their fill,” He said. “For it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
28. 28GMVEኢዛካ ዛራዳ፥ «ኤ ጎዶ! ካናቲካ ማዳ ማታን ዴኢዲ ናይታ ኩሼፔ ጋዴን ዎꬊዳይሳ ሜቴስ» ጋዱስ።BSBBSB: “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
29. 29GMVEኢዚካ፥ «ሂስቲኮ ኔኒ ሄሳ ጊዳ ጊሻስ ባ! ዳይዳንꬃይ ኔ ናይፔ ኬዚዴስ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Jesus told her, “Because of this answer, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.”
30. 30GMVEኢዛ ሲማዳ ሶ ቢሺን ናያ ዳይዳንꬃይ ዬዲን ፓጻዳ ሂጻን ኢቺዳሮ ዴማዱስ።BSBBSB: And she went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon was gone.
31. 31GMVEሄሳፌ ዬሱሲ ጺሮሴ ቢታፌ ዴንዲዲ ሲዶና ጌቴቲዛሶራ ኣꬊ ታሙ ካታማ ጌቴቲዛሶራ ካንꬂዲ ጌዴ ጋሊላ ኣባኮ ጋኪዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Jesus left the region of Tyre and went through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis.
32. 32GMVEኣሳይ ኢሲ ሃይꬃ ቱሌኔ ዶና ዱዴ ኣስ ኢዛኮ ሄ ኤኪ ዪዲ ዬሱሲ ኢዛ ቦላ ባ ኩሼ ዎꬃና ማላ ዎሲዳ።BSBBSB: Some people brought to Him a man who was deaf and hardly able to speak, and they begged Jesus to place His hand on him.
33. 33GMVEዬሱሲካ ኢዛ ኣሳፔ ሻኪ ኤኪ ቢዲ ባ ኩሼ ቢራꬌታ ኣዴዛ ሃይꬃን ጌልꬂዴስ፤ ቃሴካ ጩች ጩቲዲ ኣዴዛ ኢንጻርስ ቦቺዴስ።BSBBSB: So Jesus took him aside privately, away from the crowd, and put His fingers into the man’s ears. Then He spit and touched the man’s tongue.
34. 34GMVEፑዴ ሳሎ ጼሊዲኔ ቶኪ ሼምፒዲ፥ «ኤፍታ» ጊዴስ። ሄሲካ፥ «ፖጌታ» ጉሳ።BSBBSB: And looking up to heaven, He sighed deeply and said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means, “Be opened!”).
35. 35GMVEሄራካ ኣዴዛ ሃይꬃቲ ፖጌቲዳ፤ ኢንጻርሳይካ ቢርሼቲን ጌሺ ሃሳይዴስ።BSBBSB: Immediately the man’s ears were opened and his tongue was released, and he began to speak plainly.
36. 36GMVEዬሱሲ ሃይሳ ቤኢዳይቲ ኦናስካ ዮቶንታ ማላ ኣዛዚዴስ፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ኣሳይ ኢዚ ኣዛዚዛዳይሳፌ ቦላራ ኬሂ ጉጂዲ ዮቲዴስ።BSBBSB: Jesus ordered them not to tell anyone. But the more He ordered them, the more widely they proclaimed it.
37. 37GMVEዴሬዚካ ኬሂ ማላሌቲዲ፥ «ኢዚ ኦꬂዳይሲ ዉሪ ሎኦ፤ ቱሌቲ ሲያና ማላ፥ ዶና ዱዴቲ ሃሳያና ማላ ኦꬂዴስ» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: The people were utterly astonished and said, “He has done all things well! He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
