1. 1GMVEማላዶ ዎንታራ ቄሴታ ሃላቃቲኔ ዴሬ ጪማቲ ዉሪካ ዬሱሳ ዎꬋና ኦጌ ዞሬቲዳ።BSBBSB: When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people conspired against Jesus to put Him to death.
2. 2GMVEዬሱሳ ቃቺ ኤፊዲ ዴሬ ሃሪዛ ጲላጾሳስ ኣꬂ ኢሚዳ።BSBBSB: They bound Him, led Him away, and handed Him over to Pilate the governor.
3. 3GMVEኢዛ ኣꬂ ኢሚዳ ዩሁዳይካ ዬሱሳ ቦላ ፒርዴቲዳይሳ ቤኢዲ፥ «ታ ኢዛ ኣꬃ ኢሞንታ ኣጋርኪና» ጊዲ ባ ኤኪዳ ሄꬑ ታሙ ቢራ ቄሴታ ሃላቃታሲኔ ዴሬ ጪማታስ ዛሪ ኢሚዲ፥ «ጺሎ ኣስ ኣꬃ ኢሚዳ ጊሻስ ታ ሞራዲስ» ጊዴስ። ኢስቲካ፥ «ሂስቲን ኑስ ኣይ ሜቶ! ኔ ኤራ ኤካ!» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: When Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was filled with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders.
4. 5GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ዩሁዳይ ቢራ ኤፊዲ ጾሳ ኬꬃ ጊዶን ዬጊዲ ኬዚ ቢዲ ጩሌቲ ሃይቂዴስ።BSBBSB: So Judas threw the silver into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
5. 6GMVEቄሴታ ሃላቃቲ ቢራ ዴንꬂዲ፥ «ሱꬃ ዋጋ ጊዲዳ ጊሻስ ጾሳ ኬꬃ ሚሻን ጉጃናስ ቤሴና» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: The chief priests picked up the pieces of silver and said, “It is unlawful to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.”
6. 7GMVEባ ጊዶን ዞሬቲዲ ኢማꬅ ጊዲዳ ኣሳታስ ዱፎ ጊዳና ማላ ኢሲ ኡርቃ ሚሽ ሜꬊዛ ሂላዛ ጋዴ ሻሚዳ።BSBBSB: After conferring together, they used the money to buy the potter’s field as a burial place for foreigners.
7. 8GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ሄ ጋዴይ ሃች ጋካናስ ሱꬃ ጋዴ ጌቴቴስ።BSBBSB: That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
8. 9GMVEኢዛስ ዋጋ ጊዳና ማላ፥ «ኢስራኤሌ ናይቲ ሄሬጊዳ ሄꬑ ታሙ ቢራ ቆዲ ኤኪዳ። ጾሲ ታና ኣዛዚዳ ማላ ኡርቃ ሜꬊዛ ሂላዛ ጋዴስ ኢሚዳ» ጌቴቲዲ ናቤ ኤርማሳ ዶናን ዮቴቲዳይሲ ፖሌቲዴስ።BSBBSB: Then what was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price set on Him by the people of Israel,
9. 11GMVEሄ ዎዴ ዬሱሲ ዴሬ ሃሪዛይሳ ሲንꬅ ሺቂዴስ። ዴሬ ሃሪዛይሲካ፥ «ኔኒ ኣይሁዳ ካዎ?» ጊዲ ኢዛ ኦይቺዴስ። ዬሱሲካ፥ «ኔ ጊዳ ማላ ጊዶ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, who questioned Him: “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
10. 12GMVEቄሴታ ሃላቃቲኔ ዴሬ ጪማቲ ኢዛ ሞቲሺን ዬሱሲ ኢስታስ ኣይኔ ዛሪቤና።BSBBSB: And when He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He gave no answer.
11. 13GMVEሄ ዎዴ ጲላጾሲ ዬሱሳ፥ «ኣፑን ዮኦን ኔና ሞቲዛኮ ሲዪኪ?» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Pilate asked Him, “Do You not hear how many charges they are bringing against You?”
12. 14GMVEዴሬ ሃሪዛይሲ ኬሂ ማላሌታና ጋካናስ ዬሱሲ ኢሲ ቃላካ ዛሪቤና።BSBBSB: But Jesus gave no answer, not even to a single charge, much to the governor’s amazement.
13. 15GMVEዴሬ ሃሪዛይሳስ ባኣሌ ጋላስ ዴሬይ ቃሾ ኣሳፔ፥ «ኤቤሎይ ኑስ ቢርሼቶ!» ጊ ኦይቺኮ ኢሳዴ ቢርሺዛ ዎጋይ ዴስ።BSBBSB: Now it was the governor’s custom at the feast to release to the crowd a prisoner of their choosing.
14. 16GMVEሄ ዎዴ ጌኔ ኦሶን ኤሬቲዳ ባርባኔ ጌቴቲዛ ኢሳዴይ ቃሾሶን ዴስ።BSBBSB: At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner named Barabbas.
15. 17GMVEዴሬይ ሺቂዳ ማላ ጲላጾሲ፥ «ባርባኔፔኔ ኪርስቶሳ ጌቴቲዛ ዬሱሳፔ ታ ኢንቴስ ኦና ቢርሻና ማላ ኮዬቲ?» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: So when the crowd had assembled, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
16. 18GMVEጲላጾሲ ኢስታ ጮ ቃናቴስ ኣꬂ ኢሚዳይሳ ኤሪሼ ኦይቺዴስ።BSBBSB: For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesus over to him.
17. 19GMVEኢዚ ፒርዳ ኣልጋ ቦላ ኡቲ ዲሺን ኢዛ ማቼያ፥ «ኢዛ ጋሶን ሃች ታኒ ኣጉሞራ ዳሮ ሜቶታዲስ፤ ሄሳ ጺሎ ኣዴዛ ቦላ ኔ ኣይኮካ ኦꬆንታ ማላ» ጊዛ ኪታ ጲላጾሳስ ዬዳዱስ።BSBBSB: While Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Have nothing to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered terribly in a dream today because of Him.”
18. 20GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ቄሴታ ሃላቃቲኔ ጪማቲ ኢስታስ ባርባኔይ ቢርሼታና ማላኔ ቃሴ ዬሱሳ ዎꬋና ማላ ዎሳናስ ዴሬዛ ቃላይ ጋጋና ማላ ኦꬂዳ።BSBBSB: But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus put to death.
19. 21GMVEዴሬ ሃሪዛይሲ፥ «ናምኣታፔ ኦና ቢርሻና ማላ ኮዬቲ?» ጊ ኦይቺን ኢስቲ፥ «ባርባኔ ቢርሻ!» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they replied.
20. 22GMVEጲላጾሲካ፥ «ሂስቲኮ ኪርስቶሳ ጌቴቲዛ ዬሱሳ ዎስቶ?» ጊዴስ። ኢንቴ ዉሪካ፥ «ካቄቶ!» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: “What then should I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify Him!”
21. 23GMVEጲላጾሲካ ኣዛስ? «ኢዚ ኣይ ኢታ ኦꬂዴ?» ጊዲ ኢስታ ኦይቺዴስ። ኢስቲካ ቃሴ ኬሂ ዋሲዲ፥ «ካቄቶ!» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: “Why?” asked Pilate. “What evil has He done?” But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify Him!”
22. 24GMVEጲላጾሲ ሃኒዛይሲ ዉሪካ ኣሳይ ባ ጊዶን ቡልኣኬቴꬃፌ ኣቲን ሃራ ኣይ ጎኣይ ባይንዳይሳ ዩሺ ጼሊዲ፥ «ሃይሳ ኣዴዛ ሱꬃ ጎሜፔ ታ ጌሻ፤ ሃይሳፌ ጉዬ ኢንቴ ሼኔ» ጊዲ ሃꬅ ኤሂሲዲ ዴሬዛ ሲንꬃን ባ ኩሼ ሜጬቲዴስ።BSBBSB: When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but that instead a riot was breaking out, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “You bear the responsibility.”
23. 25GMVEዴሬይ ዉሪ፥ «ኢዛ ሱꬂ ኑ ቦላኔ ኑ ናይታ ቦላ ጋኮ» ጊዲ ዛሪዴስ።BSBBSB: All the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!”
24. 26GMVEሄ ዎዴ ባርባኔ ኢስታስ ቢርሺዲ ዬሱሳ ጋራፊሲዳፔ ጉዬ ካቃና ማላ ኣꬂ ኢሚዴስ።BSBBSB: So Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed Him over to be crucified.
25. 27GMVEሄሳፌ ዎታዳራቲ ዬሱሳ ጌዴ ዴሬ ሃሪዛይሳ ጊቤ ኤኪ ቢዲ ዉሪ ሺቂዲ ዬሱሳ ጊዶ ኣꬂዳ።BSBBSB: Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company around Him.
26. 28GMVEኢዛ ማይኦ ቃሪዲ ሃራ ዞኦ ማይኦ ማይዚዳ።BSBBSB: They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.
27. 29GMVEኣጉንꬃ ኣኪሊሌ ጻጺዲ ጊግሲዳ፤ ኢዛ ሁኤ ቦላ ዎꬂዳ፤ ሾምቦቆ ጉፌ ኡሻቻ ኩሼን ኦይꬂዲኔ ኢዛ ሲንꬃን ጉልባቲዲ፥ «ኣይሁዳ ካዎ! ኢንቴስ ቶ!» ጊዲ ኢዛ ቂꬊዳ።BSBBSB: And they twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand, knelt down before Him, and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
28. 30GMVEኢዛ ቦላ ጩቲዳ፤ ሾምቦቆ ጉፌዛ ኢዛ ኩሼፔ ኤኪዲ ዬሱሳ ሁኤን ዛሪ ዛሪዲ ሾጪዳ።BSBBSB: Then they spit on Him and took the staff and struck Him on the head repeatedly.
29. 31GMVEኢዛ ቦላ ቂꬊ ካኢዳፔ ጉዬ ቃሴካ ዞኦ ማይኦዛ ቃሪ ኤኪዲኔ ካሴ ኢዛ ማይኦዛ ዛሪ ማይዚዲ ካቃናሶ ኤኪ ቢዳ።BSBBSB: After they had mocked Him, they removed the robe and put His own clothes back on Him. Then they led Him away to crucify Him.
30. 32GMVEኢስቲ ኤኪ ቢሺን ቃሬና ጌቴቲዛሶፔ ዪዳ ሲሞና ጌቴቲዛይሳ ዴሚዲ ማስቃሌዛ ኢዛ ዎልቃራ ቶሲዳ።BSBBSB: Along the way they found a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross of Jesus.
31. 33GMVEቢርሼꬃይ፥ «ሁኤ ጉጌ» ጌቴቲዛ ጎልጎታ ጋኪሺን ጪዬራ ዋላኬቲዳ ዎይኔ ጫጄ፥ «ኡያ» ጊዲ ኢሚዳ፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዚ ጋንጺ ኤኪዲ ኡያና ኮዪቤና።BSBBSB: And when they came to a place called Golgotha, which means The Place of the Skull,
32. 35GMVEኢዛ ካቂዳፔ ጉዬ ኢዛ ማይኦዛ ቦላ ሳማ ዬጊዲ ጊሼቲዳ።BSBBSB: When they had crucified Him, they divided up His garments by casting lots.
33. 36GMVEሄን ኡቲዲ ኢዛ ናጊዳ።BSBBSB: And sitting down, they kept watch over Him there.
34. 37GMVE«ሃይሲ ኣይሁዳ ካዎ ዬሱሳ» ጊዛ ሞቶ ቃላ ኢዛ ሁኤፔ ቦላራ ዎꬂዳ።BSBBSB: Above His head they posted the written charge against Him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
35. 38GMVEናምኡ ፓንጋታፔ ኢሶይ ዬሱሳፔ ኡሻቻ ባጋራ፥ ኢሶይ ሃዲርሳ ባጋራ ኢዛራ ኢሲፌ ካቄቲዳ።BSBBSB: Two robbers were crucified with Him, one on His right and the other on His left.
36. 40GMVEኦጌራ ኣꬊ ቢዛ ኣሳይ ጫዪሼኔ ሁኤ ቃꬂሼ፥ «ጾሳ ኬꬃ ላላዳ ሄꬑ ጋላሳን ዛራ ኬጻና ጊዛይሶ! ኣኔ ኔና ኣሻ፤ ኔ ጾሳ ና ጊዲኮ ኣኔ ማስቃሌዛ ቦላፌ ዎꬋ» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”
37. 41GMVEቄሴታ ሃላቃቲ ዴሬ ጪማታራ ጊዲዲ ኢዛ ቦላ ቂꬊሼ፤BSBBSB: In the same way, the chief priests, scribes, and elders mocked Him, saying,
38. 42GMVE«ሃራ ኣሳ ኣሺዴስ ሺን ባና ኣሻናስ ዳንዳይቤና፤ ኢዚ ኢስራኤሌ ካዎ ጊዲኮ ኣኔ ሃኢ ማስቃሌ ቦላፌ ዎꬎ፤ ኑኒካ ኢዛ ኣማናና።BSBBSB: “He saved others, but He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel! Let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
39. 43GMVEጾሳን ኣማኔቲዴስ፤ ባና ጾሳ ና ጊዳ ማላ ጾሲ ኢዛ ዶሲዛ ጊዲኮ ኣኔ ሃኢ ኢዛ ኣሾ» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: He trusts in God. Let God deliver Him now if He wants Him. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
40. 44GMVEኢዛራ ኢሲፌ ካቄቲዳ ፓንጋቲካ ሄሳꬆ ጫሻ ቃላ ኢዛ ቦላ ቆቆፊዳ።BSBBSB: In the same way, even the robbers who were crucified with Him berated Him.
41. 45GMVEጋላስ ኡሱፑን ሳቴፔ ቢዲ ኡዱፉን ሳቴ ጋካናስ ኩሜꬃ ቢታይ ꬉሚዴስ።BSBBSB: From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.
42. 46GMVEኡዱፉን ሳቴ ጊዲሺን ዬሱሲ ቃላ ꬎቁ ሂስቲዲ፥ «ኤሎሄ! ኤሎሄ! ላማ ሳባቂታኔ» ጊዲ ዋሲዴስ። ሄሳ ጉሳስ ቢርሼꬃይ፥ «ታ ጾሶ! ታ ጾሶ! ታና ኣይስ ኣጋዲ?» ጉሳ።BSBBSB: About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
43. 47GMVEሄን ኤቂዳ ኣሳፔ ኢሲ ኢሲ ኣሳቲ ኢዛ ዋሶዛ ሲዪዲ፥ «ኤላሳ ጼይጌስ» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He is calling Elijah.”
44. 48GMVEኢስታፌ ኢሳዴይ ዎጺ ቢዲ ዛንꬓ ሚሳቲዛ ሳፊኔጌ ጌቴቲዛ ሚሽ ኤኪዲ ጫሊዳ ዎይኔ ጫጄን ዬጊ ጫጲሲዲኔ ሾምቦቆ ጌቴቲዛ ሚꬃ ጼራን ቃጲዲ ኡያና ማላ ዬሱሳ ዶናኮ ሺሺዴስ።BSBBSB: One of them quickly ran and brought a sponge. He filled it with sour wine, put it on a reed, and held it up for Jesus to drink.
45. 49GMVEሃንኮ ኣሳይ ቃሴ፥ «ኣጋጊቴ ኣኔ፥ ኤላሲ ዪዲ ኢዛ ኣሺሺን ቤያና» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: But the others said, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if Elijah comes to save Him.”
46. 50GMVEዬሱሲ ቃሴካ ꬎቃ ቃላን ዋሲዲ ሼምፖ ኬዚዴስ።BSBBSB: When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He yielded up His spirit.
47. 51GMVEሄ ዎዴ ጾሳ ኬꬃ ማጋላሻይ ቦላ ሁኤራ ዱጌ ሲሚ ዳኬቲዲ ናምኡ ኬዚዴስ፤ ቢታይ ቃጺዴስ፤ ዛላቲ ዛኢዳ።BSBBSB: At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked, and the rocks were split.
48. 52GMVEዱፎቲ ዶዬቲዳ፤ ካሴ ሃይቂዳ ጾሳ ኣሳፔ ዳሪዛ ባጋይ ዴንዲዴስ።BSBBSB: The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised.
49. 53GMVEዱፎፔ ኬዚዲ ዬሱሳ ዴንꬃፌ ጉዬ ጌሻ ካታማ ጌሊዲ ዳሮታ ኣይፌን ቤቲዳ።BSBBSB: After Jesus’ resurrection, when they had come out of the tombs, they entered the holy city and appeared to many people.
50. 54GMVEማቶ ሃላቃይኔ ኢዛራ ኢሲፌ ዬሱሳ ናጊዛይቲ ቢታ ቃꬃኔ ሃኒዳይሳ ኡባ ቤኢዲ ዳሮ ባቢዳ። ቃሴ፥ «ሃይሲ ቱማፔ ጾሳ ናኮ!» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified and said, “Truly this was the Son of God.”
51. 55GMVEጋሊላፔ ዪዲ ዬሱሳ ኮሺዛዛን ኦꬂ ማዳናስ ካሊዛ ዳሮ ማጫሳቲ ሃኒዛይሳ ዉርሲካ ሃሆራ ጼሊሼ ሄን ዴቴስ።BSBBSB: And many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to minister to Him.
52. 56GMVEኢስታ ጊዶን ማግዳሌፔ ዪዳ ማራሚራኔ፥ ያቆቤኔ ዮሴፌ ኣዮ ማራሚራ፥ ቃሴካ ዛብዶሳ ናይታ ኣዬይራ ኢሲፌ ዴቴስ።BSBBSB: Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
53. 57GMVEጋዴይ ኦማርሲሺን ዮሴፌ ጌቴቲዛ ኢሲ ዱሬ ኣዴ ዳይሲ ኣርማቲያሴ ጌቴቲዛሶፔ ዪዴስ። ኢዚካ ባ ባጋራ ዬሱሳ ካሊዛዴ።BSBBSB: When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who himself was a disciple of Jesus.
54. 58GMVEኢዚ ጲላጾሳ ሲንꬂ ሺቂዲ ዬሱሳ ኣሃ ኢዛስ ኢማና ማላ ዎሲን ጲላጾሲካ ኢዛስ ኢማና ማላ ኣዛዚዴስ።BSBBSB: He went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him.
55. 59GMVEዮሴፌይ ኣሃ ኤኪዲ ጌሽ ጊዲዳ ሞጎ ኣፋላን ጻጺዴስ።BSBBSB: So Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
56. 60GMVEሹች ዎጪዲ ባስ ጊግሲዳ ዱፎን ኤፊ ዎꬂዲ ጊታ ሹች ጌንዴሪሲ ዱፎዛ ጎርዲዴስ።BSBBSB: and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut into the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance to the tomb and went away.
57. 61GMVEሄ ዎዴ ማግዳሌ ማራሚራኔ ሃንኮ ማራሚራ ዱፎዛ ጊናን ኡቲዳ።BSBBSB: Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.
58. 62GMVEሳምባታስ ጊጌቲዛ ዎንቴꬃ ጋላስ ቄሴታ ሃላቃቲኔ ፋርሳዌቲ ጲላጾሳ ሲንꬅ ሺቂዲ፥BSBBSB: The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and Pharisees assembled before Pilate.
59. 63GMVE«ጎዶ! ሄ ዎርዶይ ካሴ ፓጻ ዲሼ፥ ‹ሄꬑ ጋላሳፌ ጉዬ ታ ዴንዳና› ጊዳ ቃላይ ኑ ዎዚናን ቱርቹ ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while He was alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’
60. 64GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ኢዛ ካሊዛይቲ ኢዛ ኣሃ ካይሶቲ ኤኪዲ ዴራስ፥ ‹ኢዚ ሃይቆፔ ዴንዲዴስ› ጊዲ ዎሬሶንታ ማላ ሄꬓንꬆ ጋላስ ጋካናስ ዱፎይ ናጌታና ማላ ኣዛዛ፤ ኣካይ ጊኮ ካሴይሳፌ ጉዬ ባላይ ኣꬌꬅ ጊዳና» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: So give the order that the tomb be secured until the third day. Otherwise, His disciples may come and steal Him away and tell the people He has risen from the dead. And this last deception would be worse than the first.”
61. 65GMVEጲላጾሲ፥ «ኢንቴስ ናጊዛይቲ ዴቴስ፤ ቢዲኔ ኢንቴስ ኤሬቲዳ ማላ ናጊሲቴ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: “You have a guard,” Pilate said. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.”
62. 66GMVEኢስቲካ ቢዲ ዱፎዛ ዶና ማታሜን ጎርዲዲ ናጋና ዛቤ ኤሲዳ።BSBBSB: So they went and secured the tomb by sealing the stone and posting the guard.
