1. God’s Fellow Workers

   (Hebrews 5:11–14)

2. 1GNVAnd I could not speake vnto you, brethren, as vnto spirituall men, but as vnto carnall, euen as vnto babes in Christ.BSBBSB: Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual, but as worldly—as infants in Christ.
3. 2GNVI gaue you milke to drinke, and not meat: for yee were not yet able to beare it, neither yet nowe are yee able.BSBBSB: I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for solid food. In fact, you are still not ready,
4. 3GNVFor yee are yet carnall: for whereas there is among you enuying, and strife, and diuisions, are ye not carnall, and walke as men?BSBBSB: for you are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and dissension among you, are you not worldly? Are you not walking in the way of man?
5. 4GNVFor when one sayeth, I am Pauls, and another, I am Apollos, are yee not carnall?BSBBSB: For when one of you says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere men?
6. 5GNVWho is Paul then? and who is Apollos, but the ministers by whome yee beleeued, and as the Lord gaue to euery man?BSBBSB: What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, as the Lord has assigned to each his role.
7. 6GNVI haue planted, Apollos watred, but God gaue the increase.BSBBSB: I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.
8. 7GNVSo then, neither is hee that planteth any thing, neither hee that watreth, but God that giueth the increase.BSBBSB: So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
9. 8GNVAnd he that planteth, and he that watreth, are one, and euery man shall receiue his wages, according to his labour.BSBBSB: He who plants and he who waters are one in purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.
10. 9GNVFor we together are Gods labourers: yee are Gods husbandrie, and Gods building.BSBBSB: For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.

11. Christ Our Foundation

    (Isaiah 28:14–22; Ephesians 2:19–22; 1 Peter 2:1–8)

12. 10GNVAccording to the grace of God giuen to mee, as a skilfull master builder, I haue laide the foundation, and another buildeth thereon: but let euery man take heede how he buildeth vpon it.BSBBSB: By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one must be careful how he builds.
13. 11GNVFor other foundation can no man laie, then that which is laied, which is Iesus Christ.BSBBSB: For no one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
14. 12GNVAnd if any man builde on this foundation, golde, siluer, precious stones, timber, haye, or stubble,BSBBSB: If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw,
15. 13GNVEuery mans worke shalbe made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shalbe reueiled by the fire: and the fire shall trie euery mans worke of what sort it is.BSBBSB: his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work.
16. 14GNVIf any mans worke, that he hath built vpon, abide, he shall receiue wages.BSBBSB: If what he has built survives, he will receive a reward.
17. 15GNVIf any mans worke burne, he shall lose, but he shalbe saued himselfe: neuerthelesse yet as it were by the fire.BSBBSB: If it is burned up, he will suffer loss. He himself will be saved, but only as if through the flames.

18. God’s Temple and God’s Wisdom

    (Romans 12:1–8; 1 Corinthians 6:18–20)

19. 16GNVKnowe ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?BSBBSB: Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
20. 17GNVIf any man destroy the Temple of God, him shall God destroy: for the Temple of God is holy, which ye are.BSBBSB: If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
21. 18GNVLet no man deceiue himselfe: If any man among you seeme to be wise in this world, let him be a foole, that he may be wise.BSBBSB: Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become a fool, so that he may become wise.
22. 19GNVFor the wisdome of this worlde is foolishnesse with God: for it is written, He catcheth the wise in their owne craftinesse.BSBBSB: For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.”
23. 20GNVAnd againe, The Lord knoweth that the thoughtes of the wise be vaine.BSBBSB: And again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”
24. 21GNVTherefore let no man reioyce in men: for all things are yours.BSBBSB: Therefore, stop boasting in men. All things are yours,
25. 22GNVWhether it be Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death: whether they be things present, or thinges to come, euen all are yours,BSBBSB: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future. All of them belong to you,
26. 23GNVAnd ye Christes, and Christ Gods.BSBBSB: and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.
