1. 1GOFEእስራኤለ አሳዉ፥ ታኒ ህንተዉ ዘሌልያ ዘለልሳ ስእተ!BSBBSB: Hear this word, O house of Israel, this lamentation I take up against you:
2. 2GOFE“ጌላእያ፥ እስራኤለይ ኩንዳሱ፤ ዛራዳ ደንዱኩ። እያ ሳአን የገታሱ፤ እዮ ደንꬅያ ኦንካ ባዋ” ያጋስ።BSBBSB: “Fallen is Virgin Israel, never to rise again. She lies abandoned on her land, with no one to raise her up.”
3. 3GOFE“እስራኤለ ካታማፐ ሙኩሉ ኦላንቾታ ኦላስ የድኮ፥ ፄቱ ኦላንቾታ ፃላል አታና፤ ካታማፐ ፄቱ ኦላንቾታ ኦላስ የድኮ፥ ታሙ ኦላንቾታ ፃላል አታና” ያጌስ ኡባ ሃርያ ጎዳይ።BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD says: “The city that marches out a thousand strong will have but a hundred left, and the one that marches out a hundred strong will have but ten left in the house of Israel.”
4. 4GOFE“ታና ኮይተ፤ ህንተ ደኦን ዳና።BSBBSB: For this is what the LORD says to the house of Israel: “Seek Me and live!
5. 5GOFEሽን ጋልጋል ድኤታና፤ ቤተለይ ꬋያና ግሾ፥ ቤተለ ኮዮፕተ፤ ጋልጋላ ገሎፕተ። በርሳበ ፕኖፍተ” ያጌስ ጎዳይ።BSBBSB: Do not seek Bethel or go to Gilgal; do not journey to Beersheba, for Gilgal will surely go into exile, and Bethel will come to nothing.
6. 6GOFEጎዳ ኮይተ፤ ህንተ ደኦን ዳና። ሄሳ እፅኮ፥ እ ዮሰፋ ኮቻ ታማዳ ፁጋና፤ ቤተለን ደእያ አሳ ታም ማና። ሄ ታማ ቶይሳና አስ ባዋ።BSBBSB: Seek the LORD and live, or He will sweep like fire through the house of Joseph; it will devour everything, with no one at Bethel to extinguish it.
7. 7GOFEህንተኖ፥ ሱረ ፕርዳ ምርቀይሳቶ፥ ፅሎተꬅ ሳአን የገይሳቶ፥ ስእተ።BSBBSB: There are those who turn justice into wormwood and cast righteousness to the ground.
8. 8GOFEፕልያድሳ ጌተትያ ላፑን ፆልንቶታ ኦꬅዳይ፥ ኦርዮና ጌተትያ ፆልንቶ ኮጫታ መꬍዳይ፥ ꬉማ ፖኦን፥ ጋላሳ ቃማን ላመይ፥ አባን ደእያ ሃꬃታ ሳሎ ፑደ ፄግድ፥ ሳአ ምጨꬃ ቦላ ዱገ ትገይ፥ እያ ሱንꬃይ ጎዳ።BSBBSB: He who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns darkness into dawn and darkens day into night, who summons the waters of the sea and pours them over the face of the earth—the LORD is His name—
9. 9GOFEእ ሚፃታ ላላናዉ ዎልቃማታ ቦላ ጋዶ ኤሄስ።BSBBSB: He flashes destruction on the strong, so that fury comes upon the stronghold.
10. 10GOFEህንተና ፕርዳ ዳባባን ሴረይሳ እፄታ፤ ቱማ ኦደይሳ ካꬌታ።BSBBSB: There are those who hate the one who reproves in the gate and despise him who speaks with integrity.
11. 11GOFEህንተ ማንቆታ የꬍድ፥ ኤንታ ካꬃ ቦንቄታ። ያትድ ሹቻ ኬꬃታ ግምብደታ፤ ሽን ህንተ እያን ደኤከታ። ሎኦ ዎይነ ቶክደታ፤ ሽን ህንተ ሄ ዎይነ ኡሻ ኡየከታ።BSBBSB: Therefore, because you trample on the poor and exact from him a tax of grain, you will never live in the stone houses you have built; you will never drink the wine from the lush vineyards you have planted.
12. 12GOFEህንተ ናቆይ አይ መላ ዳሮኮ፥ ህንተ ናጋራይ አይ መላ ግቴኮ ታኒ ኤራይስ። ህንተ ፅሎታ ናቀታ፤ ዎꬋፈ ኤኬታ፤ ቃስ ዳባባን ማንቆታ ፕርዳ ናቀታ።BSBBSB: For I know that your transgressions are many and your sins are numerous. You oppress the righteous by taking bribes; you deprive the poor of justice in the gate.
13. 13GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ዎደይ ኢታ ግድያ ግሾ፥ ሄሳ መላ ዎደን ጭንጫ አስ ስእ ጌስ።BSBBSB: Therefore, the prudent keep silent in such times, for the days are evil.
14. 14GOFEሎኦ ዶስተ፤ ኢታ እፅተ፤ ህንተ ደኦን ዳና። ሄሳ ኦꬅኮ፥ ህንተ ገይሳዳ፥ ጎዳይ፥ ኡባፈ ዎልቃማ ፆሳይ ህንተራ ግዳና።BSBBSB: Seek good, not evil, so that you may live. And the LORD, the God of Hosts, will be with you, as you have claimed.
15. 15GOFEኢታባ እፅተ፤ ሎኦባ ዶስተ። ፕርዳ በሳን ሱረ ፕርዳ ፕርድተ። ኦን ኤር ጎዳይ፥ ኡባፈ ዎልቃማ ፆሳይ ዮሰፋ ኮቻፈ አትዳ ጉꬃታስ ቃቶና አገና።BSBBSB: Hate evil and love good; establish justice in the gate. Perhaps the LORD, the God of Hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”
16. 16GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ጎዳይ፥ ኡባፈ ዎልቃማ ፆሳይ፥ “ዳባባ ኡባን ዋሶይ ስኤታና፤ ኦገ ኡባን ዘለልስ ዳራና። ጎሻንቾት ዬሆ፥ ዘሌልድ ዬክያ አሳይ ዘለልሳስ ፄገታና።BSBBSB: Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Hosts, the Lord, says: “There will be wailing in all the public squares and cries of ‘Alas! Alas!’ in all the streets. The farmer will be summoned to mourn, and the mourners to wail.
17. 17GOFEታኒ ህንተና ሴራናዉ ህንተ ግዶራ አꬍያ ግሾ፥ ዎይነ ጋደ ኡባን ዬሆይ ዳና” ያጌስ።BSBBSB: There will be wailing in all the vineyards, for I will pass through your midst,” says the LORD.
18. 18GOFEህንተኖ፥ ጎዳ ጋላሳይ ያና መላ አሞተይሳቶ፥ ህንተና አየ! ጎዳ ጋላሳ አይስ አሞቴቲ? ሄ ጋላሳይ ፖኦ ግዶናሽን ꬉማ ግዳና።BSBBSB: Woe to you who long for the Day of the LORD! What will the Day of the LORD be for you? It will be darkness and not light.
19. 19GOFEሄ ጋላሳይ አስ ጋሞፈ ባቃትድ አትያ ዎደ ማሄይ ጋከይሳ መላ ቃስ ባ ሶ ገልድ፥ ባ ኩሽያ ጎዳ ቦላ ዘምፕስያ ዎደ ሾሽ ዱክያ አሳ መላ ግዳና።BSBBSB: It will be like a man who flees from a lion, only to encounter a bear, or who enters his house and rests his hand against the wall, only to be bitten by a snake.
20. 20GOFEጎዳ ጋላሳይ ꬉማ ግዳናፐ አትሽን፥ ፖኦ ግደና፤ ሄ ጋላሳይ ሳካና ꬉማ ግዳናፐ አትሽን፥ ፖኦይ ባይና ጋላስ ግዳና።BSBBSB: Will not the Day of the LORD be darkness and not light, even gloom with no brightness in it?
21. 21GOFE“ታኒ ህንተ ቦንችያ ባለታ እፃይስነ ሻተታይስ፤ ህንተ ጌሻ ሺቆት ታና ኡፋይሶኮና።BSBBSB: “I hate, I despise your feasts! I cannot stand the stench of your solemn assemblies.
22. 22GOFEህንተ ታዉ ፁሳ ያርሾነ ካꬃ ያርሾ ሺሽያ ዎደ ታኒ ኤክከ። ቃስ ህንተ ታዉ እስፈተꬃ ያርሾስ ኤህያ ዶረትዳ ሞꬎ መሄታ በእከ።BSBBSB: Even though you offer Me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; for your peace offerings of fattened cattle I will have no regard.
23. 23GOFEህንተ ማዝሙረ ጫንጨꬃ ታ ማታፐ ሃስተ፤ ህንተ ዲፅያ ዲꬃ ስእከ።BSBBSB: Take away from Me the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.
24. 24GOFEሽን ሱረ ፕርድ ፑልቶ ሃꬃዳ፥ ፅሎተꬅ መሎና ሻፋ ሃꬃዳ ጎጎ።BSBBSB: But let justice roll on like a river, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
25. 25GOFE“ህንተኖ፥ እስራኤለ አሳዉ፥ ታኒ ህንተና መላ ቢታን ኦይታሙ ላይꬅ ካለꬅያ ዎደ፥ ታዉ ያርሾ ሺሽደቲ? ዎይኮ እሞታ እምደቲ?BSBBSB: Did you bring Me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
26. 26GOFEሄ ዎደ ህንተ፥ ህንተ ኩሸን መꬍዳ፥ ‘ካዋ ሳኩታ’ ጌተትያ ኤቃነ ‘ከዋና’ ጌተትያ ፆልንቶ ኤቃ ፆሳታ ቶክደታ።BSBBSB: You have taken along Sakkuth your king and Kaiwan your star god, the idols you made for yourselves.
27. 27GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ታኒ ህንተና ድእሳዳ ዳማስቆ ካታማፐ አꬃዳ ሃሆ በሲ የዳና” ያጌስ እያ ሱንꬃይ፥ ኡባፈ ዎልቃማ ፆሳ ጌተትያ ጎዳይ።BSBBSB: Therefore I will send you into exile beyond Damascus,” says the LORD, whose name is the God of Hosts.
