1. 1GOFEኡባ ሃርያ ጎዳይ ታና ቆንጨꬅ በስስ። ሄ ቆንጨꬃን ታኒ ካዋ ጋክያ ካꬃይ ጫከትዳፐ ጉየ፥ ናምአንꬆ ጫርዳ ዶላ ቦላ ፆሳይ ቦለ ዉደ መꬍሽን በአስ።BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts just after the king’s harvest, as the late spring crop was coming up.
2. 2GOFEኤንቲ እርፃባ ኡባ ምድ ዉርስዳ ዎደ ታኒ፥ “አቤት፥ ኡባ ሃርያ ጎዳዉ፥ ሀያና ነ ደርያ ማራርክ! ያይቆባ ዛረት ዋንድ አታናዉ ዳንዳኦና? ኤንቲ ኡባ ጉꬃ!” ያጋስ።BSBBSB: And when the locusts had eaten every green plant in the land, I said, “Lord GOD, please forgive! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
3. 3GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ጎዳይ ኤንታዉ ቃትድ፥ “ሀ ኔኒ በእዳባይ ፖለተና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen,” He said.
4. 4GOFEኡባ ሃርያ ጎዳይ ታና ሀራ ቆንጨꬅ በስስ። ኡባ ሃርያ ጎዳይ ባ አሳ ፕርዳናዉ ታማ ፄግስ፤ ሄ ታማይ ግታ ጪሞ አባ ም ድግድ፥ ቢታ ማናዉ ዶምስ።BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: The Lord GOD was calling for judgment by fire. It consumed the great deep and devoured the land.
5. 5GOFEታኒ፥ “አቤት፥ ኡባ ሃርያ ጎዳዉ፥ ሀያና ሀ ታማ ቶይሳርክ! ያይቆባ ዛረት ዋንድ አታናዉ ዳንዳኦና? ኤንቲ ኡባ ጉꬃ!” ያጋስ።BSBBSB: Then I said, “Lord GOD, please stop! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
6. 6GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ጎዳይ ቃትድ፥ “ሀይስ ፖለተና” ያጌስ ኡባ ሃርያ ጎዳይ።BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen either,” said the Lord GOD.
7. 7GOFEቃስ ፆሳይ ታና ሀራ ቆንጨꬅ በስስ። ታኒ ሄ ቆንጨꬃን በእያ ዎደ፥ ጎዳይ ቱምበ ኦይክድ፥ ቱምበን ልከትድ ግምበትዳ ግምብያ ማታን ኤቅስ።BSBBSB: This is what He showed me: Behold, the Lord was standing by a wall true to plumb, with a plumb line in His hand.
8. 8GOFEጎዳይ ታኮ፥ “አሞፀ፥ ኔኒ አይ ፄላይ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። ታኒ፥ “ቱምበ ፄላይስ” ያጋስ። ጎዳይ ታኮ፥ “ሄኮ፥ ታኒ ታ አሰ ግድዳ እስራኤለ ግዶን ቱምበ የጋይስ፤ ታኒ ኤንታ ሴሮና አግከ።BSBBSB: “Amos, what do you see?” asked the LORD. “A plumb line,” I replied. “Behold,” said the Lord, “I am setting a plumb line among My people Israel; I will no longer spare them:
9. 9GOFEይሳቃ ኮቻት ጎይንያ ꬎቃ በሳት ላለታና፤ እስራኤለ ጌሻ በሳት ꬋያና፤ እዮርባማ ካዎተꬃ ቦላ ታኒ ማሻራ ደንዳና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: The high places of Isaac will be deserted, and the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with My sword.”
10. 10GOFEቤተለ ካታማን ካህነ ግድድ ደእያ አማስያስ እስራኤለ ካዋ እዮርባማኮ ሀይሳዳ ያግድ ኪትስ፦ “አሞፀይ እስራኤለ አሳ ግዶን ደእሸ፥ ነ ቦላ ማቀቴስ፤ እ ባ ኦዳን ቢታ ꬋይሴስ።BSBBSB: Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent word to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words,
11. 11GOFEእ፥ ‘እዮርባም ማሻን ሀይቃና፤ እስራኤለ አሳይ ባንታ ቢታፈ ድኤትድ ባና’ ያጌስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: for this is what Amos has said: ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
12. 12GOFEአማስያስ አሞፀኮ፥ “ነኖ ትንብተ ኦደይሶ፥ ባ፤ ይሁዳ ቢታ ባዳ፥ ያን ኦꬃዳ አቃ፤ ያን ትንብተ ኦዳ።BSBBSB: And Amaziah said to Amos, “Go away, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah; earn your bread there and do your prophesying there.
13. 13GOFEሽን ቤተለይ ካዎይ ጎይንያ በስነ ካዎተꬃ ኬꬅ ግድያ ግሾ፥ ናምአንꬆ ሀ በሳን ትንብተ ኦዶፓ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: But never prophesy at Bethel again, because it is the sanctuary of the king and the temple of the kingdom.”
14. 14GOFEአሞፀይ ዛሪድ፥ “ታኒ መህያ ሄምያነ ቦባ አይፈ ማፅያ አሰፐ አትሽን፥ ናበ ዎይኮ ናበ ናአ ግድከ።BSBBSB: “I was not a prophet,” Amos replied, “nor was I the son of a prophet; rather, I was a herdsman and a tender of sycamore-fig trees.
15. 15GOFEሽን ጎዳይ ታና ዶርሳ ዉደ ሄምያ በሳፈ ኤክድ፥ ‘ባዳ ታ አሳ እስራኤለስ ትንብተ ኦዳ’ ያግስ።BSBBSB: But the LORD took me from following the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’
16. 16GOFEሀእ ህዛ ጎዳይ ግያባ ስአ! ኔኒ፥ ‘እስራኤለ ቦላ ትንብተ ኦዶፓ፤ ይሳቃ ኮቻታ ሳባኮፓ’ ያጋዳሳ።BSBBSB: Now, therefore, hear the word of the LORD. You say: ‘Do not prophesy against Israel; do not preach against the house of Isaac.’
17. 17GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ጎዳይ፥ ‘ነ ማችያ ካታማ ግዶን ላይማ ግዳና፤ ነ አደ ናይትነ ነ ማጫ ናይት ማሻን ሀይቃና። ነ ቢታይ ዎዶሮን ሻከታና፤ ቃስ ኔኒ ነ ሁጰን አላጋ ቢታን ሀይቃና። ስይ ባይና እስራኤለ አሳይ ባንታ ቢታፈ ድኤትድ ባና’ ያጌስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring line, and you yourself will die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
