1. 1GOFEያይቆብ ꬎቁ ግድ ፄልያ ዎደ ኤሳዌይ ባ ኦይዱ ፄቱ አሳራ የይሳ በእስ። ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ናይታ ልያስ፥ ራሄልስነ ናምኡ አይለታስ ሻክ እሚስ።BSBBSB: Now Jacob looked up and saw Esau coming toward him with four hundred men. So he divided the children among Leah, Rachel, and the two maidservants.
2. 2GOFEአይለታነ ኤንታ ናይታ ስንꬃን፥ ልያነ እ ናይታ ኤንታ ጌዶን፥ ራሄሎነ ዮሰፋ ዉርሰꬃን ዎꬅስ።BSBBSB: He put the maidservants and their children in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph at the rear.
3. 3GOFEሽን እ ባዉ ስን አꬍድ ባ እሻኮ ማትሸ ሳአ ጋክ ጋክ ላፑንቶሆ ዝግስ።BSBBSB: But Jacob himself went on ahead and bowed to the ground seven times as he approached his brother.
4. 4GOFEሽን ኤሳዌይ እያራ ጋሄታናዉ ዎፅ ይድ እያ ቆꬍያ ቆምድ ዬርስ። ናምአይካ ዬክዶሶና።BSBBSB: Esau, however, ran to him and embraced him, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. And they both wept.
5. 5GOFEኤሳዌይ ꬎቁ ግድ ፄልድ ማጫሳታነ ናይታ በእድ፥ “ሀ ኔራ ደኤይሳት ኦናንቴ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። ያይቆብ፥ “ታ ጎዳዉ፥ ሀይሳቲ ፆሳይ ነ አይልያስ ባ ኬሀተꬃን እምዳ ናይታ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: When Esau looked up and saw the women and children, he asked, “Who are these with you?” Jacob answered, “These are the children God has graciously given your servant.”
6. 6GOFEአይለት ባንታ ናይታራ ሺቅድ እያዉ ዝግዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then the maidservants and their children approached and bowed down.
7. 7GOFEካልድ ልያራነ እ ናይታራ ይድ ዝግዶሶና። ዉርሰꬃን ዮሰፋራነ ራሄልራ ይድ ዝግዶሶና።BSBBSB: Leah and her children also approached and bowed down, and then Joseph and Rachel approached and bowed down.
8. 8GOFEኤሳዌይ፥ “ሀ ስንꬃን ብሸ ታራ ጋሄትዳ ዉደይ ኡባይ አይቤ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። ያይቆብ፥ “ታ ጎዳዉ፥ ሄስ ታኒ ነ ስንꬃን ሳባ ደማናዉ የድዳይሳታ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: “What do you mean by sending this whole company to meet me?” asked Esau. “To find favor in your sight, my lord,” Jacob answered.
9. 9GOFEሽን ኤሳዌይ፥ “ታ እሻዉ፥ ታዉ ግድያ ሻሎይ ደኤስ፥ ነባይ ነዉ ግዶ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: “I already have plenty, my brother,” Esau replied. “Keep what belongs to you.”
10. 10GOFEያይቆብ፥ “ሀያና፥ ሀእ ታኒ ነ ስንꬃን ሳባ ደምዳባ ግድኮ፥ ሀ ታኒ እመይሳ ኤካ። ኔኒ ታና ሞካ ኤክዳ ግሾ፥ ታ ነ ሶምኡዋ በኤይስ ፆሳ ሶምኦ በኤይሳ መላ።BSBBSB: But Jacob insisted, “No, please! If I have found favor in your sight, then receive this gift from my hand. For indeed, I have seen your face, and it is like seeing the face of God, since you have received me favorably.
11. 11GOFEታኒ ነዉ ኤህዳ ሀ እሞታ ኤካ። ፆሳይ ታዉ ኬህ እምዳ ግሾ ኩምስ” ያግስ። ያይቆብ ዎስድ አጎና እፅዳ ግሾ፥ ኤሳዌይ እያ እሞታ ኤክስ።BSBBSB: Please accept my gift that was brought to you, because God has been gracious to me and I have all I need.” So Jacob pressed him until he accepted.
12. 12GOFEኤሳዌይ፥ “አነ የꬋ፥ ታኒ ኔራ እስፈ ባና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Then Esau said, “Let us be on our way, and I will go ahead of you.”
13. 13GOFEሽን ያይቆብ፥ “ታ ጎዳዉ፥ ናይት ሹጎ ግደይሳ ኤራሳ። ቃስ ታኒ ጋሎ ማራታ ꬋንꬅያ ዶርሳታነ ሚዛ ናጋናዉ ኮሼስ። አሳይ ኤንታ ሀር አቶሽን፥ እስ ጋላስ ምንꬅ ላግኮ፥ መሄ ኡባይ ሀይቃና።BSBBSB: But Jacob replied, “My lord knows that the children are frail, and I must care for sheep and cattle that are nursing their young. If they are driven hard for even a day, all the animals will die.
14. 14GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ታ ጎዳዉ፥ ነ አይለታፐ ስንꬃታዳ ባ። ታኒ ሳይረን ታ ጎዳ ጋካናስ፥ ታ ስንꬃን ደእያ መህያነ ናይታ ሄመꬃ መላ ሎዳን ካላዳ ታ ጎዳ ታኒ ኤዶመን ጋካና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Please let my lord go ahead of his servant. I will continue on slowly, at a comfortable pace for the livestock and children, until I come to my lord at Seir.”
15. 15GOFEኤሳዌይ፥ “ያንኮ፥ ታኒ ታ አሳፐ ጉꬃራ ነዉ አሾ” ያግስ። ሽን ያይቆብ፥ “ኮሸና፤ ታኒ ታ ጎዳ ስንꬃን ሳበትዳይስ ታዉ ግዳና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: “Let me leave some of my people with you,” Esau said. But Jacob replied, “Why do that? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord.”
16. 16GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ኤሳዌይ ሄ ጋላስ ኦገን ዎꬍድ ሳይረ ስምስ።BSBBSB: So that day Esau started on his way back to Seir,
17. 17GOFEሽን ያይቆብ ሱኮታ ብስ። ያን ባዉ ኬ ኬፅስ፥ ባ መሄታስ ሻቃራ ሻቃርስ። ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ሄ በሳ ሱኮታ (ኩያ ዎይኮ ጋባ) ግድ ሱንꬅስ።BSBBSB: but Jacob went on to Succoth, where he built a house for himself and shelters for his livestock; that is why the place was called Succoth.
18. 18GOFEያይቆብ ማሰጰፆመፐ ስሚድ ካናነ ቢታን ደእያ ሴከማ ካታማ ሳሮን ጋክስ። እ ሄ ካታማስ ስንꬃ ባጋራ ዱንካነ ቶክድ ኡትስ።BSBBSB: After Jacob had come from Paddan-aram, he arrived safely at the city of Shechem in the land of Canaan, and he camped just outside the city.
19. 19GOFEባ ዱንካንያ ቶክዲ ኡትዳ ጋድያ ሴከማ አዋ ሀሞራ ናይታፐ እስ ፄቱ ብራ ሳንትመን ሻምስ።BSBBSB: And the plot of ground where he pitched his tent, he purchased from the sons of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for a hundred pieces of silver.
20. 20GOFEያን ያርሾ በሲ ጊግስድ፥ “ጎዳ፥ እስራኤለ ፆሳ” ግድ ሱንꬅስ።BSBBSB: There he set up an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel.
