1. 1GOFEሀ ቢታን ደእያ አሳ ኡባ፥ ጎዳይ ሞትያባይ ደእያ ግሾ፥ እስራኤለ አሳቶ፥ ጎዳ ቃላ ስእተ። ሄስካ፥ ቢታ ቦላ አማነተꬅ፥ ሲቆይነ ፆሳ ኤሮይ ባዋ።BSBBSB: Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, and no knowledge of God in the land!
2. 2GOFEሀ ቢታ ቦላ ደኤይ ባደꬅ፥ ዎርዶ፥ ሸምፖ ዎꬎ፥ ካይሶቶነ ላይማ ፃላላ። ኤንቲ ዎጋ ኡባ መንꬆሶና፤ ሱꬁ ጉሶሶና።BSBBSB: Cursing and lying, murder and stealing, and adultery are rampant; one act of bloodshed follows another.
3. 3GOFEሄሳ ጋሶን ቢታ ኡባይ ዬካና፤ ቢታን ደእያ ኡባይ ዳቡራና። ሳአ ዶአት፥ ሳሎ ካፎትነ አባ ሞሎት ሀይቃና።BSBBSB: Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it will waste away with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air; even the fish of the sea disappear.
4. 4GOFEህንተኖ፥ ካህነቶ፥ ታኒ ህንተና ሞትያባይ ደእያ ግሾ፥ ኦንካ ሀራ አሳራ ፓላመቶፎ፤ ዎይኮ ሀራ አስ ሞቶፖ።BSBBSB: But let no man contend; let no man offer reproof; for your people are like those who contend with a priest.
5. 5GOFEህንተ ጋላስነ ቃማ ꬉበቴታ፤ ናበትካ ህንተራ ꬉበቶሶና። ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ታኒ ህንተ አይዉ ꬋይሳና።BSBBSB: You will stumble by day, and the prophet will stumble with you by night; so I will destroy your mother—
6. 6GOFEታ አሳስ ኤራተꬅ ባይና ግሾ ꬋይዶሶና። ህንተ ኤራተꬅ እፅዳ ግሾ፥ ታካ ህንተ ታዉ ካህነ ግዶና መላ እፃስ። ህንተ ፆሳ ህግያ ዶግዳ ግሾ፥ ታካ ህንተ ናይታ ዶጋና።BSBBSB: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you as My priests. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
7. 7GOFEካህነታ ታይቦይ ዳር ዳር ብያ ዎደ ታና ጉጅ ጉጅ ናቅዶሶና፤ ታኒ ኤንታ ቦንቹዋ ቃራዳ ዬላያና።BSBBSB: The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against Me; they exchanged their Glory for a thing of disgrace.
8. 8GOFEታ አሳ ናጋራይ ኤንታዉ ካꬅ ግድዳ ግሾ ኤንቲ ታ አሳይ ባላባ ኦꬃና መላ ኮዮሶና።BSBBSB: They feed on the sins of My people and set their hearts on iniquity.
9. 9GOFEካህነት ደርያፐ ዱማትቦኮና። ታኒ ኤንታ ሀኖታ ግሾ፥ ኤንታ ሴራና፤ ኤንታ ኦሱዋዳ ኤንታዉ ዛራና።BSBBSB: And it shall be like people, like priest. I will punish both of them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.
10. 10GOFEኤንቲ ጎዳ አግዳ ግሾ ማና፥ ሽን ካሎኮና፤ ላይማታና፥ ሽን ናአ የሎኮና።BSBBSB: They will eat but not be satisfied; they will be promiscuous but not multiply. For they have abandoned the LORD to give themselves
11. 11GOFEላይማተꬅ፥ ጋምእዳ ዎይነ ኡሽነ ማልአንቶ ዎይነ ኡሽ ታ አሳ ዎዛና ꬋይስስ።BSBBSB: to promiscuity, wine, and new wine, which take away understanding.
12. 12GOFEኤንቲ ምꬃፈ ኦሰትዳ ኤቃ ምስለ ዞረ ኦይቾሶና፤ ኤንታ ፃምአይ ኤንታ ኦይሻ ዛሬስ። ላይማተꬃ አያናይ ኤንታ ባለꬅስ፤ ኤንቲ ባንታ ፆሳፈ ሃክድ ላይማትዶሶና።BSBBSB: My people consult their wooden idols, and their divining rods inform them. For a spirit of prostitution leads them astray and they have played the harlot against their God.
13. 13GOFEደረታ ሁጰን ያርሾ ያርሾሶና፤ ሎኦ ኩያይ ደእያ ዎላ ጋርሳን፥ ፂዳ ጋርሳን እፃነ ጩይሶሶና። ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ህንተ ማጫ ናይት ላይማቶሶና፤ ህንተ ናይታ ማቸት ላሞሶና።BSBBSB: They sacrifice on the mountaintops and burn offerings on the hills, under oak, poplar, and terebinth, because their shade is pleasant. And so your daughters turn to prostitution and your daughters-in-law to adultery.
14. 14GOFEህንተ ማጫ ናይት ላይማትያ ዎደነ ህንተ ናይታ ማቸት ላምያ ዎደ ታኒ ሴርከ። አይስ ጊኮ፥ አደት ባንታ ሁጰን ላይማተይሳታራ ላገቶሶና፤ ኤንታራ ያርሾሶና። ሄሳ ግሾ፥ አኬክ ባይና ደረይ ꬋያና።BSBBSB: I will not punish your daughters when they prostitute themselves, nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery. For the men themselves go off with prostitutes and offer sacrifices with shrine prostitutes. So a people without understanding will come to ruin.
15. 15GOFE“እስራኤለ አሳቶ፥ ህንተ ላይማትኮካ፥ ይሁዳ አሳይ ህንተይሳዳ ባላ ግዶፖ። ጋልጋላ ቦፕተ፤ ቤት-አዌና (ኢታተꬃ ኬꬅ) ከዮፕተ፤ ‘ደኦ ፆሳይ ኤርያ መላ’ ግድ ጫቆፍተ።BSBBSB: Though you prostitute yourself, O Israel, may Judah avoid such guilt! Do not journey to Gilgal, do not go up to Beth-aven, and do not swear on oath, ‘As surely as the LORD lives!’
16. 16GOFEእስራኤለ አሳይ ጌላ ኡሳዳ ጌላትስ። ያትን፥ ጎዳይ ኤንታና ዳልጋ ደንባን ዶርሳ ማራዳ ዋትድ ሄማኔ?BSBBSB: For Israel is as obstinate as a stubborn heifer. Can the LORD now shepherd them like lambs in an open meadow?
17. 17GOFEኤፍሬም ኤቃታራ ጋሄትስ፤ ኤንታ አጋግተ።BSBBSB: Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone!
18. 18GOFEኤንቲ ዳሮ ዎይነ ኡሻ ኡይ ስሚድ፥ ላይማተꬅ አጎኮና፤ ኤንታ ሀላቃትካ ዬላያባ ዳሮ ዶሶሶና።BSBBSB: When their liquor is gone, they turn to prostitution; their rulers dearly love disgrace.
19. 19GOFEኤንታ ጫርኮይ ኤፋና፤ ባንታ ኤቃስ ያርሽዳ ያርሾታ ጋሶን ኤንቲ ዬላታና።”BSBBSB: The whirlwind has wrapped them in its wings, and their sacrifices will bring them shame.
