1. 1LXXΕΙΠΕ δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων· εἴσελθε πρὸς Φαραώ· ἐγὼ γὰρ ἐσκλήρυνα αὐτοῦ τὴν καρδίαν καὶ τῶν θεραπόντων αὐτοῦ, ἵνα ἑξῆς ἐπέλθῃ τὰ σημεῖα ταῦτα ἐπ᾿ αὐτούς·BSBBSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials, that I may perform these miraculous signs of Mine among them,
2. 2LXXὅπως διηγήσησθε εἰς τὰ ὦτα τῶν τέκνων ὑμῶν καὶ τοῖς τέκνοις τῶν τέκνων ὑμῶν, ὅσα ἐμπέπαιχα τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις, καὶ τὰ σημεῖά μου, ἃ ἐποίησα ἐν αὐτοῖς, καὶ γνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγὼ Κύριος.BSBBSB: and that you may tell your children and grandchildren how severely I dealt with the Egyptians when I performed miraculous signs among them, so that all of you may know that I am the LORD.”
3. 3LXXεἰσῆλθε δὲ Μωυσῆς καὶ Ἀαρὼν ἐναντίον Φαραὼ καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ· τάδε λέγει Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς τῶν Ἑβραίων· ἕως τίνος οὐ βούλῃ ἐντραπῆναί με; ἐξαπόστειλον τὸν λαόν μου, ἵνα λατρεύσωσί μοι.BSBBSB: So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and told him, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.
4. 4LXXἐὰν δὲ μὴ θέλῃς σὺ ἐξαποστεῖλαι τὸν λαόν μου, ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ταύτην τὴν ὥραν αὔριον ἀκρίδα πολλὴν ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ὅριά σου,BSBBSB: But if you refuse to let My people go, I will bring locusts into your territory tomorrow.
5. 5LXXκαὶ καλύψει τὴν ὄψιν τῆς γῆς, καὶ οὐ δυνήσῃ κατιδεῖν τὴν γῆν, καὶ κατέδεται πᾶν τὸ περισσὸν τῆς γῆς τὸ καταλειφθέν, ὃ κατέλιπεν ὑμῖν ἡ χάλαζα, καὶ κατέδεται πᾶν ξύλον τὸ φυόμενον ὑμῖν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς·BSBBSB: They will cover the face of the land so that no one can see it. They will devour whatever is left after the hail and eat every tree that grows in your fields.
6. 6LXXκαὶ πλησθήσονταί σου αἱ οἰκίαι καὶ αἱ οἰκίαι τῶν θεραπόντων σου καὶ πᾶσαι αἱ οἰκίαι ἐν πάσῃ γῇ τῶν Αἰγυπτίων, ἃ οὐδέποτε ἑωράκασιν οἱ πατέρες σου, οὐδ᾿ οἱ πρόπαπποι αὐτῶν, ἀφ᾿ ἧς ἡμέρας γεγόνασιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης. καὶ ἐκκλίνας Μωυσῆς ἐξῆλθεν ἀπὸ Φαραώ.BSBBSB: They will fill your houses and the houses of all your officials and every Egyptian—something neither your fathers nor your grandfathers have seen since the day they came into this land.’” Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh’s presence.
7. 7LXXκαὶ λέγουσιν οἱ θεράποντες Φαραὼ πρὸς αὐτόν· ἕως τίνος ἔσται τοῦτο ἡμῖν σκῶλον; ἐξαπόστειλον τοὺς ἀνθρώπους, ὅπως λατρεύσωσι τῷ Θεῷ αὐτῶν· ἢ εἰδέναι βούλῃ ὅτι ἀπόλωλεν Αἴγυπτος;BSBBSB: Pharaoh’s officials asked him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the people go, so that they may worship the LORD their God. Do you not yet realize that Egypt lies in ruins?”
8. 8LXXκαὶ ἀπέστρεψαν τόν τε Μωυσῆν καὶ Ἀαρὼν πρὸς Φαραώ, καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· πορεύεσθε καὶ λατρεύσατε Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ὑμῶν· τίνες δὲ καὶ τίνες εἰσὶν οἱ πορευόμενοι;BSBBSB: So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship the LORD your God,” he said. “But who exactly will be going?”
9. 9LXXκαὶ λέγει Μωυσῆς· σὺν τοῖς νεανίσκοις καὶ πρεσβυτέροις πορευσόμεθα, σὺν τοῖς υἱοῖς καὶ θυγατράσι καὶ προβάτοις καὶ βουσὶν ἡμῶν· ἔστι γὰρ ἑορτὴ Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν.BSBBSB: “We will go with our young and old,” Moses replied. “We will go with our sons and daughters, and with our flocks and herds, for we must hold a feast to the LORD.”
10. 10LXXκαὶ εἶπε πρὸς αὐτούς· ἔστω οὕτω, Κύριος μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν· καθότι ἀποστέλλω ὑμᾶς, μὴ καὶ τὴν ἀποσκευὴν ὑμῶν; ἴδετε ὅτι πονηρία πρόσκειται ὑμῖν.BSBBSB: Then Pharaoh told them, “May the LORD be with you if I ever let you go with your little ones. Clearly you are bent on evil.
11. 11LXXμὴ οὕτως· πορευέσθωσαν δὲ οἱ ἄνδρες, καὶ λατρευσάτωσαν τῷ Θεῷ· τοῦτο γὰρ αὐτοὶ ἐκζητεῖτε. ἐξέβαλον δὲ αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου Φαραώ.BSBBSB: No, only the men may go and worship the LORD, since that is what you have been requesting.” And Moses and Aaron were driven from Pharaoh’s presence.
12. 12LXXεἶπε δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν· ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρα ἐπὶ γῆν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ ἀναβήτω ἀκρὶς ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ κατέδεται πᾶσαν βοτάνην τῆς γῆς καὶ πάντα τὸν καρπὸν τῶν ξύλων, ὃν ὑπελίπετο ἡ χάλαζα.BSBBSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt, so that the locusts may swarm over it and devour every plant in the land—everything that the hail has left behind.”
13. 13LXXκαὶ ἐπῇρε Μωυσῆς τὴν ράβδον εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν, καὶ Κύριος ἐπήγαγεν ἄνεμον νότον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν, ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἐκείνην καὶ ὅλην τὴν νύκτα· τὸ πρωΐ ἐγενήθη, καὶ ὁ ἄνεμος ὁ νότος ἀνέλαβε τὴν ἀκρίδαBSBBSB: So Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and throughout that day and night the LORD sent an east wind across the land. By morning the east wind had brought the locusts.
14. 14LXXκαὶ ἀνήγαγεν αὐτὴν ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ κατέπαυσεν ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ὅρια Αἰγύπτου πολλὴ σφόδρα· προτέρα αὐτῆς οὐ γέγονε τοιαύτη ἀκρὶς καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα οὐκ ἔσται οὕτως.BSBBSB: The locusts swarmed across the land and settled over the entire territory of Egypt. Never before had there been so many locusts, and never again will there be.
15. 15LXXκαὶ ἐκάλυψε τὴν ὄψιν τῆς γῆς, καὶ ἐφθάρη ἡ γῆ· καὶ κατέφαγε πᾶσαν βοτάνην τῆς γῆς καὶ πάντα τὸν καρπὸν τῶν ξύλων, ὃς ὑπελείφθη ἀπὸ τῆς χαλάζης· οὐχ ὑπελείφθη χλωρὸν οὐδὲν ἐν τοῖς ξύλοις καὶ ἐν πάσῃ βοτάνῃ τοῦ πεδίου, ἐν πάσῃ γῇ Αἰγύπτου.BSBBSB: They covered the face of all the land until it was black, and they consumed all the plants on the ground and all the fruit on the trees that the hail had left behind. Nothing green was left on any tree or plant in all the land of Egypt.
16. 16LXXκατέσπευδε δὲ Φαραὼ καλέσαι Μωυσῆν καὶ Ἀαρὼν λέγων· ἡμάρτηκα ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑμῶν καὶ εἰς ὑμᾶς·BSBBSB: Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.
17. 17LXXπροσδέξασθε οὖν μου τὴν ἁμαρτίαν ἔτι νῦν καὶ προσεύξασθε πρὸς Κύριον τὸν Θεὸν ὑμῶν, καὶ περιελέτω ἀπ᾿ ἐμοῦ τὸν θάνατον τοῦτον.BSBBSB: Now please forgive my sin once more and appeal to the LORD your God, that He may remove this death from me.”
18. 18LXXἐξῆλθε δὲ Μωυσῆς ἀπὸ Φαραὼ καὶ ηὔξατο πρὸς τὸν Θεόν.BSBBSB: So Moses left Pharaoh’s presence and appealed to the LORD.
19. 19LXXκαὶ μετέβαλε Κύριος ἄνεμον ἀπὸ θαλάσσης σφοδρόν, καὶ ἀνέλαβε τὸν ἀκρίδα καὶ ἔβαλεν αὐτὴν εἰς τὴν ἐρυθρὰν θάλασσαν, καὶ οὐχ ὑπελείφθη ἀκρὶς μία ἐν πάσῃ γῇ Αἰγύπτου.BSBBSB: And the LORD changed the wind to a very strong west wind that carried off the locusts and blew them into the Red Sea. Not a single locust remained anywhere in Egypt.
20. 20LXXκαὶ ἐσκλήρυνε Κύριος τὴν καρδίαν Φαραώ. καὶ οὐκ ἐξαπέστειλε τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραήλ.BSBBSB: But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let the Israelites go.
21. 21LXXΕἶπε δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν· ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρά σου εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν, καὶ γενηθήτω σκότος ἐπὶ γῆς Αἰγύπτου, ψηλαφητὸν σκότος.BSBBSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that darkness may spread over the land of Egypt—a palpable darkness.”
22. 22LXXἐξέτεινε δὲ Μωυσῆς τὴν χεῖρα εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν, καὶ ἐγένετο σκότος γνόφος, θύελλα ἐπὶ πᾶσαν γῆν Αἰγύπτου τρεῖς ἡμέρας,BSBBSB: So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and total darkness covered all the land of Egypt for three days.
23. 23LXXκαὶ οὐκ εἶδεν οὐδεὶς τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ τρεῖς ἡμέρας, καὶ οὐκ ἐξανέστη οὐδεὶς ἐκ τῆς κοίτης αὐτοῦ τρεῖς ἡμέρας· πᾶσι δὲ τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ φῶς ἦν ἐν πᾶσιν, οἷς κατεγίνοντο.BSBBSB: No one could see anyone else, and for three days no one left his place. Yet all the Israelites had light in their dwellings.
24. 24LXXκαὶ ἐκάλεσε Φαραὼ Μωυσῆν καὶ Ἀαρὼν λέγων· βαδίζετε, λατρεύσατε Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ὑμῶν, πλὴν τῶν προβάτων καὶ τῶν βοῶν ὑπολείπεσθε· καὶ ἡ ἀποσκευὴ ὑμῶν ἀποτρεχέτω μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν,BSBBSB: Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go, worship the LORD. Even your little ones may go with you; only your flocks and herds must stay behind.”
25. 25LXXκαὶ εἶπε Μωυσῆς· ἀλλὰ καὶ σὺ δώσει ἡμῖν ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ θυσίας, ἃ ποιήσομεν Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν·BSBBSB: But Moses replied, “You must also provide us with sacrifices and burnt offerings to present to the LORD our God.
26. 26LXXκαὶ τὰ κτήνη ἡμῶν πορεύσεται μεθ᾿ ἡμῶν, καὶ οὐχ ὑπολειψόμεθα ὁπλήν· ἀπ᾿ αὐτῶν γὰρ ληψόμεθα λατρεῦσαι Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν, ἡμεῖς δὲ οὐκ οἴδαμεν τί λατρεύσομεν Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν, ἕως τοῦ ἐλθεῖν ἡμᾶς ἐκεῖ.BSBBSB: Even our livestock must go with us; not a hoof will be left behind, for we will need some of them to worship the LORD our God, and we will not know how we are to worship the LORD until we arrive.”
27. 27LXXἐσκλήρυνε δὲ Κύριος τὴν καρδίαν Φαραὼ καὶ οὐκ ἐβουλήθη ἐξαποστεῖλαι αὐτούς.BSBBSB: But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he was unwilling to let them go.
28. 28LXXκαὶ λέγει Φαραώ· ἄπελθε ἀπ᾿ ἐμοῦ· πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ ἔτι προσθεῖναι ἰδεῖν μου τὸ πρόσωπον· ᾗ δ᾿ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ ὀφθῇς μοι, ἀποθανῇ.BSBBSB: “Depart from me!” Pharaoh said to Moses. “Make sure you never see my face again, for on the day you see my face, you will die.”
29. 29LXXλέγει δὲ Μωυσῆς· εἴρηκας· οὐκ ἔτι ὀφθήσομαί σοι εἰς πρόσωπον.BSBBSB: “As you say,” Moses replied, “I will never see your face again.”
