Ezekiel 11 (LXX)

1ΚΑΙ ἀνέλαβέ με πνεῦμα καὶ ἤγαγέ με ἐπὶ τὴν πύλην τοῦ οἴκου Κυρίου τὴν κατέναντι τὴν βλέπουσαν κατὰ ἀνατολάς· καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐπὶ τῶν προθύρων τῆς πύλης ὡς εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε ἄνδρες, καὶ εἶδον ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν τὸν Ἰεζονίαν τὸν τοῦ Ἔζερ καὶ Φαλτίαν τὸν τοῦ Βαναίου, τοὺς ἀφηγουμένους τοῦ λαοῦ.Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the LORD that faces east. And there at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men. Among them I saw Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, who were leaders of the people.

2καὶ εἶπε Κύριος πρός με· υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, οὗτοι οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ λογιζόμενοι μάταια καὶ βουλευόμενοι βουλὴν πονηρὰν ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ,And the LORD said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who plot evil and give wicked counsel in this city.

3οἱ λέγοντες· οὐχὶ προσφάτως ᾠκοδόμηνται αἱ οἰκίαι; αὕτη ἐστὶν ὁ λέβης, ἡμεῖς δέ τὰ κρέα.They are saying, ‘Is not the time near to build houses? The city is the cooking pot, and we are the meat.’

4διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον ἐπ᾿ αὐτούς, προφήτευσον, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου.Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, O son of man!”

5καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπ᾿ ἐμὲ πνεῦμα Κυρίου καὶ εἶπε πρός με· λέγε· τάδε λέγει Κύριος· οὕτως εἴπατε, οἶκος Ἰσραήλ, καὶ τὰ διαβούλια τοῦ πνεύματος ὑμῶν ἐγὼ ἐπίσταμαι.And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me and told me to declare that this is what the LORD says: “That is what you are thinking, O house of Israel; and I know the thoughts that arise in your minds.

6ἐπληθύνατε νεκροὺς ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ καὶ ἐνεπλήσατε τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτῆς τραυματιῶν.You have multiplied those you killed in this city and filled its streets with the dead.

7διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει Κύριος· τοὺς νεκροὺς ὑμῶν, οὓς ἐπατάξατε ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς, οὗτοί εἰσι τὰ κρέα, αὐτὴ δὲ ὁ λέβης ἐστί, καὶ ὑμᾶς ἐξάξω ἐκ μέσου αὐτῆς.Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: The slain you have laid within this city are the meat, and the city is the pot; but I will remove you from it.

8ρομφαίαν φοβεῖσθε, καὶ ρομφαίαν ἐπάξω ἐφ᾿ ὑμᾶς, λέγει Κύριος·You fear the sword, so I will bring the sword against you, declares the Lord GOD.

9καὶ ἐξάξω ὑμᾶς ἐκ μέσου αὐτῆς καὶ παραδώσω ὑμᾶς εἰς χεῖρας ἀλλοτρίων καὶ ποιήσω ἐν ὑμῖν κρίματα.I will bring you out of the city and deliver you into the hands of foreigners, and I will execute judgments against you.

10ἐν ρομφαίᾳ πεσεῖσθε, ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ κρινῶ ὑμᾶς· καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγὼ Κύριος.You will fall by the sword, and I will judge you even to the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

11αὐτὴ ὑμῖν οὐκ ἔσται εἰς λέβητα, καὶ ὑμεῖς οὐ μὴ γένησθε ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς εἰς κρέα· ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ κρινῶ ὑμᾶς,The city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat within it. I will judge you even to the borders of Israel.

12καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε διότι ἐγὼ Κύριος.Then you will know that I am the LORD. For you have neither followed My statutes nor practiced My ordinances, but you have conformed to the ordinances of the nations around you.”

13Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ προφητεύειν με καὶ Φαλτίας ὁ τοῦ Βαναίου ἀπέθανε, καὶ πίπτω ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου καὶ ἀνεβόησα φωνῇ μεγάλῃ καὶ εἶπα· οἴμοι οἴμοι, Κύριε, εἰς συντέλειαν ποιεῖς σὺ τοὺς καταλοίπους τοῦ Ἰσραήλ;Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice, “Oh, Lord GOD, will You bring the remnant of Israel to a complete end?”

14Καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος Κυρίου πρός με λέγων·Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

15υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, οἱ ἀδελφοί σου καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας σου καὶ πᾶς ὁ οἶκος τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ συντετέλεσται, οἷς εἶπαν αὐτοῖς οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ἱερουσαλήμ· μακρὰν ἀπέχετε ἀπὸ τοῦ Κυρίου, ἡμῖν δέδοται ἡ γῆ εἰς κληρονομίαν.“Son of man, your brothers—your relatives, your fellow exiles, and the whole house of Israel—are those of whom the people of Jerusalem have said, ‘They are far away from the LORD; this land has been given to us as a possession.’

16διὰ τοῦτον εἰπόν· τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ὅτι ἀπώσομαι αὐτοὺς εἰς τὰ ἔθνη καὶ διασκορπιῶ αὐτοὺς εἰς πᾶσαν γῆν, καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς εἰς ἁγίασμα μικρὸν ἐν ταῖς χώραις, οὗ ἐὰν εἰσέλθωσιν ἐκεῖ.Therefore declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries to which they have gone.’

17διὰ τοῦτο εἶπόν· τάδε λέγει Κύριος· καὶ εἰσδέξομαι αὐτοὺς ἐκ τῶν ἐθνῶν καὶ συνάξω αὐτοὺς ἐκ τῶν χωρῶν, οὗ διέσπειρα αὐτοὺς ἐν αὐταῖς, καὶ δώσω αὐτοῖς τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ἰσραήλ.Therefore declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you from the countries to which you have been scattered, and I will give back to you the land of Israel.’

18καὶ εἰσελεύσονται ἐκεῖ καὶ ἐξαροῦσι πάντα τὰ βδελύγματα αὐτῆς καὶ πάσας τὰς ἀνομίας αὐτῆς ἐξ αὐτῆς.When they return to it, they will remove all its detestable things and all its abominations.

19καὶ δώσω αὐτοῖς καρδίαν ἑτέραν καὶ πνεῦμα καινὸν δώσω ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐκσπάσω τὴν καρδίαν τὴν λιθίνην ἐκ τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτῶν καὶ δώσω αὐτοῖς καρδίαν σαρκίνην·And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them; I will remove their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh,

20ὅπως ἐν τοῖς προστάγμασί μου πορεύωνται καὶ τὰ δικαιώματά μου φυλάσσωνται καὶ ποιῶσιν αὐτά· καὶ ἔσονταί μοι εἰς λαὸν καὶ ἐγὼ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς εἰς Θεόν.so that they may follow My statutes, keep My ordinances, and practice them. Then they will be My people, and I will be their God.

21καὶ εἰς τὴν καρδίαν τῶν βδελυγμάτων αὐτῶν καὶ τῶν ἀνομιῶν αὐτῶν, ὡς ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν ἐπορεύετο, τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτῶν εἰς τὰς κεφαλάς αὐτῶν δέδωκα, λέγει Κύριος.But as for those whose hearts pursue detestable things and abominations, I will bring their conduct down upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.”

22Καὶ ἐξῇραν τὰ Χερουβὶμ τὰς πτέρυγας αὐτῶν, καὶ οἱ τροχοὶ ἐχόμενοι αὐτῶν, καὶ ἡ δόξα Θεοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ἐπ᾿ αὐτὰ ὑπεράνω αὐτῶν.Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

23καὶ ἀνέβη ἡ δόξα Κυρίου ἐκ μέσης τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἔστη ἐπὶ τοῦ ὄρους, ὃ ἦν ἀπέναντι τῆς πόλεως.And the glory of the LORD rose up from within the city and stood over the mountain east of the city.

24καὶ ἀνέλαβέ με πνεῦμα καὶ ἤγαγέ με εἰς γῆς Χαλδαίων εἰς τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν ἐν ὁράσει ἐν πνεύματι Θεοῦ. καὶ ἀνέβην ἀπὸ τῆς ὁράσεως, ἧς εἶδον.And the Spirit lifted me up and carried me back to Chaldea, to the exiles in the vision given by the Spirit of God. After the vision had gone up from me,

25καὶ ἐλάλησα πρὸς τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν πάντας τοὺς λόγους τοῦ Κυρίου, οὓς ἔδειξέ μοι.I told the exiles everything the LORD had shown me.
