Genesis 10 (LXX)

1ΑΥΤΑΙ δὲ αἱ γενέσεις τῶν υἱῶν Νῶε, Σήμ, Χάμ, Ἰάφεθ, καὶ ἐγεννήθησαν αὐτοῖς υἱοὶ μετὰ τὸν κατακλυσμόν.This is the account of Noah’s sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, who also had sons after the flood.

2Υἱοὶ Ἰάφεθ· Γαμὲρ καὶ Μαγὼγ καὶ Μαδοὶ καὶ Ἰωύαν καὶ Ἐλισὰ καὶ Θοβὲλ καὶ Μοσόχ καὶ Θείρας.The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

3καὶ υἱοὶ Γαμέρ· Ἀσχανὰζ καὶ Ριφὰθ καὶ Θοργαμά.The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

4καὶ υἱοὶ Ἰωύαν· Ἐλισὰ καὶ Θάρσεις, Κίτιοι, Ρόδιοι.And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites, and the Rodanites.

5ἐκ τούτων ἀφωρίσθησαν νῆσοι τῶν ἐθνῶν ἐν τῇ γῇ αὐτῶν, ἕκαστος κατὰ γλῶσσαν ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν αὐτῶν.From these, the maritime peoples separated into their territories, according to their languages, by clans within their nations.

6Υἱοὶ δὲ Χάμ· Χοὺς καὶ Μερσαΐν Φοὺδ καὶ Χαναάν.The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

7υἱοὶ δὲ Χούς· Σαβὰ καὶ Εὐϊλὰ καὶ Σαβαθὰ καὶ Ρεγμὰ καὶ Σαβαθακά. υἱοὶ δὲ Ρεγμά· Σαβὰ καὶ Δαδάν.The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

8Χοὺς δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Νεβρώδ. οὗτος ἤρξατο εἶναι γίγας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς·Cush was the father of Nimrod, who began to be a mighty one on the earth.

9οὗτος ἦν γίγας κυνηγὸς ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ· διὰ τοῦτο ἐροῦσιν, ὡς Νεβρὼδ γίγας κυνηγὸς ἐναντίον Κυρίου.He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; so it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD.”

10καὶ ἐγένετο ἀρχὴ τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ Βαβυλὼν καὶ Ὀρὲχ καὶ Ἀρχὰδ καὶ Χαλάννη ἐν τῇ γῇ Σεναάρ.His kingdom began in Babylon, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11ἐκ τῆς γῆς ἐκείνης ἐξῆλθεν Ἀσσοὺρ καὶ ᾠκοδόμησε τὴν Νινευΐ καὶ τὴν Ροωβὼθ πόλιν καὶ τὴν ΧαλὰχFrom that land he went forth into Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,

12καὶ τὴν Δασὴ ἀνὰ μέσον Νινευΐ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσο Χαλάχ· αὕτη ἡ πόλις μεγάλη.and Resen, which is between Nineveh and the great city of Calah.

13καὶ Μεσραΐν ἐγέννησε τοὺς Λουδιεὶμ καὶ τοὺς Ἐνεμετιεὶμ καὶ τοὺς Λαβιεὶμ καὶ τοὺς Νεφθαλιεὶμ καὶ τοὺς ΠατροσωνιεὶμMizraim was the father of the Ludites, the Anamites, the Lehabites, the Naphtuhites,

14καὶ τοὺς Χασλωνιείμ, ὅθεν ἐξῆλθε Φυλιστιείμ, καὶ τοὺς Καφθοριείμ.the Pathrusites, the Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came), and the Caphtorites.

15Χαναὰν δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Σιδῶνα πρωτότοκον αὐτοῦAnd Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,

16καὶ τὸν Χετταῖον καὶ τὸν Ἰεβουσαῖον καὶ τὸν Ἀμορραῖον καὶ τὸν Γεργεσαῖον καὶ τὸν Εὐαῖον καὶ τὸν Ἀρουκαῖονthe Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

17καὶ τὸν Ἀσενναῖον καὶ τὸν Ἀράδιον καὶ τὸν Σαμαραῖον καὶ τὸν Ἀμαθί.the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

18καὶ μετὰ τοῦτο διεσπάρησαν αἱ φυλαὶ τῶν Χαναναίων,the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Later the Canaanite clans were scattered,

19καὶ ἐγένετο τὰ ὅραι τῶν Χαναναίων ἀπὸ Σιδῶνος ἕως ἐλθεῖν εἰς Γεραρὰ καὶ Γαζάν, ἕως ἐλθεῖν ἕως Σοδόμων καὶ Γομόρρας, Ἀδαμὰ καὶ Σεβωΐμ ἕως Δασά.and the borders of Canaan extended from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

20οὗτοι υἱοὶ Χάμ, ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς αὐτῶν, κατὰ γλώσσας αὐτῶν, ἐν ταῖς χώραις αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν αὐτῶν.These are the sons of Ham according to their clans, languages, lands, and nations.

21Καὶ τῷ Σὴμ ἐγεννήθη καὶ αὐτῷ, πατρὶ πάντων τῶν υἱῶν ¨Εβερ, ἀδελφῷ Ἰάφεθ τοῦ μείζονος.And sons were also born to Shem, the older brother of Japheth; Shem was the forefather of all the sons of Eber.

22υἱοὶ Σήμ· Ἐλὰμ καὶ Ἀσσοὺρ καὶ Ἀρφαξὰδ καὶ Λοὺδ καὶ Ἀρὰμ καὶ Καϊνᾶν.The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.

23καὶ υἱοὶ Ἀράμ· Οὒζ καί Οὒλ καὶ Γατὲρ καὶ Μοσόχ.The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.

24καὶ Ἀρφαξὰδ ἐγέννησε τὸν Καϊνᾶν, καὶ Καϊνᾶν ἐγέννησε τὸν Σαλά, Σαλὰ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν ¨Εβερ.Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber.

25καὶ τῷ ¨Εβερ ἐγεννήθησαν δύο υἱοί· ὄνομα τῷ ἑνὶ Φαλέγ, ὅτι ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ διεμερίσθη ἡ γῆ, καὶ ὄνομα τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ Ἰεκτάν.Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his days the earth was divided, and his brother was named Joktan.

26Ἰεκτὰν δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἐλμωδὰδ καὶ Σαλὲθ καὶ τὸν Σαρμὼθ καὶ Ἰαρὰχ καὶ Ὁδορρὰ καὶ Αἰβὴλ καὶ ΔεκλὰAnd Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

27καὶ Εὐὰλ καὶ Ἀβιμαὲλ καὶ ΣαβὰHadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

28καὶ Οὐφεὶρ καὶ Εὐειλὰ καὶ Ἰωβάβ.Obal, Abimael, Sheba,

29πάντες οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἰεκτάν.Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.

30καὶ ἐγένετο ἡ κατοίκησις αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Μασσῆ ἕως ἐλθεῖν εἰς Σαφηρά, ὄρος ἀνατολῶν.Their territory extended from Mesha to Sephar, in the eastern hill country.

31οὗτοι υἱοὶ Σήμ, ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς αὐτῶν, κατὰ γλώσσας αὐτῶν, ἐν ταῖς χώραις αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν αὐτῶν.These are the sons of Shem, according to their clans, languages, lands, and nations.

32Αὗται αἱ φυλαὶ υἱῶν Νῶε κατὰ γενέσεις αὐτῶν, κατὰ ἔθνη αὐτῶν· ἀπὸ τούτων διεσπάρησαν νῆσοι τῶν ἐθνῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς μετὰ τὸν κατακλυσμόν.All these are the clans of Noah’s sons, according to their generations and nations. From these the nations of the earth spread out after the flood.
