Leviticus 6 (LXX)

1Καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων·And the LORD said to Moses,

2ψυχὴ ἣ ἐὰν ἁμάρτῃ καὶ παριδὼν παρίδῃ τὰς ἐντολὰς Κυρίου καὶ ψεύσηται τὰ πρὸς τὸν πλησίον ἐν παραθήκῃ ἢ περὶ κοινωνίας ἢ περὶ ἁρπαγῆς ἢ ἠδίκησέ τι τὸν πλησίον“If someone sins and acts unfaithfully against the LORD by deceiving his neighbor in regard to a deposit or security entrusted to him or stolen, or if he extorts his neighbor

3ἢ εὗρεν ἀπώλειαν καὶ ψεύσηται περὶ αὐτῆς καὶ ὀμόσῃ ἀδίκως περὶ ἑνὸς ἀπὸ πάντων, ὧν ἐὰν ποιήσῃ ὁ ἄνθρωπος, ὥστε ἁμαρτεῖν ἐν τούτοις,or finds lost property and lies about it and swears falsely, or if he commits any such sin that a man might commit—

4καὶ ἔσται ἡνίκα ἐὰν ἁμάρτῃ καὶ πλημμελήσῃ, καὶ ἀποδῷ τὸ ἅρπαγμα, ὃ ἥρπασεν, ἢ τὸ ἀδίκημα, ὃ ἠδίκησεν, ἢ τὴν παραθήκην, ἥτις παρετέθη αὐτῷ, ἢ τὴν ἀπώλειαν, ἣν εὗρεν,once he has sinned and becomes guilty, he must return what he has stolen or taken by extortion, or the deposit entrusted to him, or the lost property he found,

5ἀπὸ παντὸς πράγματος, οὗ ὤμοσε περὶ αὐτοῦ ἀδίκως, καὶ ἀποτίσει αὐτὸ τὸ κεφάλαιον καὶ τὸ ἐπίπεμπτον προσθήσει ἐπ᾿ αὐτό· τίνος ἐστίν, αὐτῷ ἀποδώσει ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ ἐλεγχθῇ.or anything else about which he has sworn falsely. He must make restitution in full, add a fifth of the value, and pay it to the owner on the day he acknowledges his guilt.

6καὶ τῆς πλημμελείας αὐτοῦ οἴσει τῷ Κυρίῳ κριὸν ἀπὸ τῶν προβάτων ἄμωμον, τιμῆς, εἰς ὃ ἐπλημμέλησε.Then he must bring to the priest his guilt offering to the LORD: an unblemished ram of proper value from the flock.

7καὶ ἐξιλάσεται περὶ αὐτοῦ ὁ ἱερεὺς ἔναντι Κυρίου, καὶ ἀφεθήσεται αὐτῷ περὶ ἑνὸς ἀπὸ πάντων, ὧν ἐποίησε καὶ ἐπλημμέλησεν αὐτῷ.In this way the priest will make atonement for him before the LORD, and he will be forgiven for anything he may have done to incur guilt.”

8ΚΑΙ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων·Then the LORD said to Moses,

9ἔντειλαι Ἀαρὼν καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ, λέγων· οὗτος ὁ νόμος τῆς ὁλοκαυτώσεως· αὐτὴ ἡ ὁλοκαύτωσις ἐπὶ τῆς καύσεως αὐτῆς ἐπὶ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου ὅλην τὴν νύκτα ἕως τὸ πρωΐ, καὶ τὸ πῦρ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καυθήσεται ἐπ᾿ αὐτοῦ, οὐ σβεσθήσεται.“Command Aaron and his sons that this is the law of the burnt offering: The burnt offering is to remain on the hearth of the altar all night, until morning, and the fire must be kept burning on the altar.

10καὶ ἐνδύσεται ὁ ἱερεὺς χιτῶνα λινοῦν καὶ περισκελὲς λινοῦν ἐνδύσεται περὶ τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀφελεῖ τὴν κατακάρπωσιν, ἣν ἂν καταναλώσῃ τὸ πῦρ, τὴν ὁλοκαύτωσιν, ἀπὸ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου, καὶ παραθήσει αὐτὸ ἐχόμενον τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου.And the priest shall put on his linen robe and linen undergarments, and he shall remove from the altar the ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed and place them beside it.

11καὶ ἐκδύσεται τὴν στολὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐνδύσεται στολὴν ἄλλην, καὶ ἐξοίσει τὴν κατακάρπωσιν ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς εἰς τόπον καθαρόν.Then he must take off his garments, put on other clothes, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a ceremonially clean place.

12καὶ πῦρ ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον καυθήσεται ἀπ᾿ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται, καὶ καύσει ἐπ᾿ αὐτοῦ ὁ ἱερεὺς ξύλα τὸ πρωΐ πρωΐ· καὶ στοιβάσει ἐπ᾿ αὐτοῦ τὴν ὁλοκαύτωσιν καὶ ἐπιθήσει ἐπ᾿ αὐτὸ τὸ στέαρ τοῦ σωτηρίου·The fire on the altar shall be kept burning; it must not be extinguished. Every morning the priest is to add wood to the fire, arrange the burnt offering on it, and burn the fat portions of the peace offerings on it.

13καὶ πῦρ διὰ παντὸς καυθήσεται ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον, οὐ σβεσθήσεται.The fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it must not be extinguished.

14Οὗτος ὁ νόμος τῆς θυσίας, ἣν προσάξουσιν αὐτὴν οἱ υἱοὶ Ἀαρὼν ἔναντι Κυρίου ἀπέναντι τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου·Now this is the law of the grain offering: Aaron’s sons shall present it before the LORD in front of the altar.

15καὶ ἀφελεῖ ἀπ᾿ αὐτοῦ τῇ δρακὶ ἀπὸ τῆς σεμιδάλεως τῆς θυσίας σὺν τῷ ἐλαίῳ αὐτῆς καὶ σὺν παντὶ τῷ λιβάνῳ αὐτῆς τὰ ὄντα ἐπὶ τῆς θυσίας καὶ ἀνοίσει ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον κάρπωμα, ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας, τὸ μνημόσυνον αὐτῆς τῷ Κυρίῳ.The priest is to remove a handful of fine flour and olive oil, together with all the frankincense from the grain offering, and burn the memorial portion on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

16τὸ δὲ καταλειφθὲν ἀπ᾿ αὐτῆς ἔδεται Ἀαρὼν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ· ἄζυμα βρωθήσεται ἐν τόπῳ ἁγίῳ, ἐν αὐλῇ τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἔδονται αὐτήν.Aaron and his sons are to eat the remainder. It must be eaten without leaven in a holy place; they are to eat it in the courtyard of the Tent of Meeting.

17οὐ πεφθήσεται ἐζυμωμένη· μερίδα αὐτὴν ἔδωκα αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ τῶν καρπωμάτων Κυρίου· ἅγια ἁγίων ἐστίν, ὥσπερ τὸ τῆς ἁμαρτίας καὶ ὥσπερ τὸ τῆς πλημμελείας.It must not be baked with leaven; I have assigned it as their portion of My food offerings. It is most holy, like the sin offering and the guilt offering.

18πᾶν ἀρσενικὸν τῶν ἱερέων ἔδονται αὐτήν· νόμιμον αἰώνιον εἰς τὰς γενεὰς ὑμῶν ἀπὸ τῶν καρπωμάτων Κυρίου. πᾶς ὃς ἐὰν ἅψηται αὐτῶν, ἁγιασθήσεται.Any male among the sons of Aaron may eat it. This is a permanent portion from the food offerings to the LORD for the generations to come. Anything that touches them will become holy.”

19Καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων·Then the LORD said to Moses,

20τοῦτο τὸ δῶρον Ἀαρὼν καὶ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ, ὃ προσοίσουσι Κυρίῳ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ, ᾗ ἂν χρίσῃς αὐτόν· τὸ δέκατον τοῦ οἰφὶ σεμιδάλεως εἰς θυσίαν διὰ παντός, τὸ ἥμισυ αὐτῆς τὸ πρωΐ, καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ αὐτῆς τὸ δειλινόν.“This is the offering that Aaron and his sons must present to the LORD on the day he is anointed: a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half in the evening.

21ἐπὶ τηγάνου ἐν ἐλαίῳ ποιηθήσεται, πεφυραμένην οἴσει αὐτήν, ἑλικτά, θυσίαν ἐκ κλασμάτων, θυσίαν εἰς ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας Κυρίῳ.It shall be prepared with oil on a griddle; you are to bring it well-kneaded and present it as a grain offering broken in pieces, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

22ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ χριστὸς ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ ποιήσει αὐτήν· νόμος αἰώνιος, ἅπαν ἐπιτελεσθήσεται.The priest, who is one of Aaron’s sons and will be anointed to take his place, is to prepare it. As a permanent portion for the LORD, it must be burned completely.

23καὶ πᾶσα θυσία ἱερέως ὁλόκαυτος ἔσται καὶ οὐ βρωθήσεται.Every grain offering for a priest shall be burned completely; it is not to be eaten.”

24Καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων·And the LORD said to Moses,

25λάλησον Ἀαρὼν καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ λέγων· οὗτος ὁ νόμος τῆς ἁμαρτίας· ἐν τόπῳ, οὗ σφάζουσι τὸ ὁλοκαύτωμα, σφάξουσι τὰ περὶ τῆς ἁμαρτίας ἔναντι Κυρίου· ἅγια ἁγίων ἐστίν.“Tell Aaron and his sons that this is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering shall be slaughtered before the LORD; it is most holy.

26ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ ἀναφέρων αὐτὴν ἔδεται αὐτήν· ἐν τόπῳ ἁγίῳ βρωθήσεται, ἐν αὐλῇ τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου.The priest who offers it shall eat it; it must be eaten in a holy place, in the courtyard of the Tent of Meeting.

27πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τῶν κρεῶν αὐτῆς ἁγιασθήσεται· καὶ ᾧ ἐὰν ἐπιρραντισθῇ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῆς ἐπὶ τὸ ἱμάτιον, ὃς ἐὰν ραντισθῇ ἐπ᾿ αὐτό, πλυθήσεται ἐν τόπῳ ἁγίῳ.Anything that touches its flesh will become holy, and if any of the blood is spattered on a garment, you must wash it in a holy place.

28καὶ σκεῦος ὀστράκινον, οὗ ἐὰν ἑψηθῇ ἐν αὐτῷ, συντριβήσεται· ἐὰν δὲ ἐν σκεύει χαλκῷ ἑψηθῇ, ἐκτρίψει αὐτὸ καὶ ἐκκλύσει ὕδατι.The clay pot in which the sin offering is boiled must be broken; if it is boiled in a bronze pot, the pot must be scoured and rinsed with water.

29πᾶς ἄρσην ἐν τοῖς ἱερεῦσι φάγεται αὐτά· ἅγια ἁγίων ἐστὶ Κυρίῳ.Any male among the priests may eat it; it is most holy.

30καὶ πάντα τὰ περὶ τῆς ἁμαρτίας, ὧν ἐὰν εἰσενεχθῇ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῶν εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἐξιλάσασθαι ἐν τῷ ἁγίῳ, οὐ βρωθήσεται· ἐν πυρὶ κατακαυθήσεται.But no sin offering may be eaten if its blood has been brought into the Tent of Meeting to make atonement in the Holy Place; it must be burned.
