1. 1STVΤὰ τέκνα ὑπακούετε τοῖς γονεῦσιν ὑμῶν ἐν κυρίῳ· τοῦτο γάρ ἐστιν δίκαιονBSBBSB: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2. 2STVτίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα ἥτις ἐστὶν ἐντολὴ πρώτη ἐν ἐπαγγελίᾳBSBBSB: “Honor your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise),
3. 3STVἵνα εὖ σοι γένηται καὶ ἔσῃ μακροχρόνιος ἐπὶ τῆς γῆςBSBBSB: “that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on the earth.”
4. 4STVΚαὶ οἱ πατέρες μὴ παροργίζετε τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν ἀλλ’ ἐκτρέφετε αὐτὰ ἐν παιδείᾳ καὶ νουθεσίᾳ κυρίουBSBBSB: Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
5. 5STVΟἱ δοῦλοι ὑπακούετε τοῖς κυρίοις κατὰ σάρκα μετὰ φόβου καὶ τρόμου ἐν ἁπλότητι τῆς καρδίας ὑμῶν ὡς τῷ ΧριστῷBSBBSB: Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear and sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.
6. 6STVμὴ κατ’ ὀφθαλμοδουλείαν ὡς ἀνθρωπάρεσκοι ἀλλ’ ὡς δοῦλοι τοῦ Χριστοῦ ποιοῦντες τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ ἐκ ψυχῆςBSBBSB: And do this not only to please them while they are watching, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.
7. 7STVμετ’ εὐνοίας δουλεύοντες τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ οὐκ ἀνθρώποιςBSBBSB: Serve with good will, as to the Lord and not to men,
8. 8STVεἰδότες ὅτι ὃ ἐάν τι ἕκαστος ποιήσῃ ἀγαθόν τοῦτο κομιεῖται παρὰ τοῦ κυρίου εἴτε δοῦλος εἴτε ἐλεύθεροςBSBBSB: because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
9. 9STVΚαὶ οἱ κύριοι τὰ αὐτὰ ποιεῖτε πρὸς αὐτούς ἀνιέντες τὴν ἀπειλήν εἰδότες ὅτι καὶ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν ὁ κύριός ἐστιν ἐν οὐρανοῖς καὶ προσωποληψία οὐκ ἔστιν παρ’ αὐτῷBSBBSB: And masters, do the same for your slaves. Give up your use of threats, because you know that He who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Him.
10. 10STVΤὸ λοιπὸν, ἀδελφοί μου, ἐνδυναμοῦσθε ἐν κυρίῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ κράτει τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦBSBBSB: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
11. 11STVἐνδύσασθε τὴν πανοπλίαν τοῦ θεοῦ πρὸς τὸ δύνασθαι ὑμᾶς στῆναι πρὸς τὰς μεθοδείας τοῦ διαβόλου·BSBBSB: Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12. 12STVὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἡμῖν ἡ πάλη πρὸς αἷμα καὶ σάρκα ἀλλὰ πρὸς τὰς ἀρχάς πρὸς τὰς ἐξουσίας πρὸς τοὺς κοσμοκράτορας τοῦ σκότους τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου πρὸς τὰ πνευματικὰ τῆς πονηρίας ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοιςBSBBSB: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13. 13STVδιὰ τοῦτο ἀναλάβετε τὴν πανοπλίαν τοῦ θεοῦ ἵνα δυνηθῆτε ἀντιστῆναι ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ πονηρᾷ καὶ ἅπαντα κατεργασάμενοι στῆναιBSBBSB: Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.
14. 14STVστῆτε οὖν περιζωσάμενοι τὴν ὀσφὺν ὑμῶν ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ ἐνδυσάμενοι τὸν θώρακα τῆς δικαιοσύνηςBSBBSB: Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed,
15. 15STVκαὶ ὑποδησάμενοι τοὺς πόδας ἐν ἑτοιμασίᾳ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου τῆς εἰρήνηςBSBBSB: and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace.
16. 16STVἐπὶ πᾶσιν ἀναλαβόντες τὸν θυρεὸν τῆς πίστεως ἐν ᾧ δυνήσεσθε πάντα τὰ βέλη τοῦ πονηροῦ τὰ πεπυρωμένα σβέσαι·BSBBSB: In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17. 17STVκαὶ τὴν περικεφαλαίαν τοῦ σωτηρίου δέξασθε καὶ τὴν μάχαιραν τοῦ πνεύματος ὅ ἐστιν ῥῆμα θεοῦBSBBSB: And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18. 18STVδιὰ πάσης προσευχῆς καὶ δεήσεως προσευχόμενοι ἐν παντὶ καιρῷ ἐν πνεύματι καὶ εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο ἀγρυπνοῦντες ἐν πάσῃ προσκαρτερήσει καὶ δεήσει περὶ πάντων τῶν ἁγίωνBSBBSB: Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.
19. 19STVκαὶ ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ ἵνα μοι δοθείη λόγος ἐν ἀνοίξει τοῦ στόματός μου ἐν παρρησίᾳ γνωρίσαι τὸ μυστήριον τοῦ εὐαγγελίουBSBBSB: Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will boldly make known the mystery of the gospel,
20. 20STVὑπὲρ οὗ πρεσβεύω ἐν ἁλύσει ἵνα ἐν αὐτῷ παρρησιάσωμαι ὡς δεῖ με λαλῆσαιBSBBSB: for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it fearlessly, as I should.
21. 21STVἽνα δὲ εἰδῆτε καὶ ὑμεῖς τὰ κατ’ ἐμέ τί πράσσω πάντα ὑμῖν γνωρίσει Τυχικὸς ὁ ἀγαπητὸς ἀδελφὸς καὶ πιστὸς διάκονος ἐν κυρίῳBSBBSB: Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know about me and what I am doing.
22. 22STVὃν ἔπεμψα πρὸς ὑμᾶς εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο ἵνα γνῶτε τὰ περὶ ἡμῶν καὶ παρακαλέσῃ τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶνBSBBSB: I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about us, and that he may encourage your hearts.
23. 23STVΕἰρήνη τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς καὶ ἀγάπη μετὰ πίστεως ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς καὶ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ ΧριστοῦBSBBSB: Peace to the brothers and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
24. 24STVἡ χάρις μετὰ πάντων τῶν ἀγαπώντων τὸν κύριον ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦν Χριστὸν ἐν ἀφθαρσίᾳ ἀμήν πρός Εφέσιους ἐγράφη ἀπό Ῥώμης διά ΤυχικοῦBSBBSB: Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
