BSB BSB: The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered that they be stripped and beaten with rods.

26 UDB એકાએક ખૂબ મોટા ધરતીકંપે આખી જેલ ધ્રૂજાવી નાખી. ધરતીકંપના લીધે જેલના બધા દરવાજા ઊઘડી ગયા અને બધા કેદીઓની સાંકળો નીકળી પડી. BSB BSB: Suddenly a strong earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. At once all the doors flew open and everyone’s chains came loose.
27 UDB જેલર જાગ્યો અને જોયું કે જેલના દરવાજા ધરતીકંપથી ઊઘડી ગયા છે. તેણે વિચાર્યું કે કેદીઓ જેલમાંથી ભાગી ગયા છે, તેથી તેણે પોતાને મારી નાખવા માટે તેની તલવાર કાઢી, કારણ કે તે જાણતો હતો કે જો કેદીઓ મુક્ત થઇ જશે તો શહેરના અધિકારીઓ તેને મારી નાખશે. BSB BSB: When the jailer woke up and saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, presuming that the prisoners had escaped.
28 UDB પાઉલે જેલરને જોયો અને તેણે તેને બૂમ પાડી," તારી જાતને મારી નાખતો નહિ! અમે બધા કેદીઓ અહીં જ છીએ!" BSB BSB: But Paul called out in a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself! We are all here!”

31 UDB તેઓએ જવાબ આપ્યો, "ઈસુ પર વિશ્વાસ કર, જેથી તું અને તારા ઘરનાં તારણ પામશો." BSB BSB: They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”
32 UDB ત્યારબાદ પાઉલ અને સિલાસે તેને અને તેના પરિવારજનોને પ્રભુ ઈસુ વિશે જણાવ્યું. BSB BSB: Then Paul and Silas spoke the word of the Lord to him and to everyone in his house.

35 UDB બીજી સવારે, શહેરના અધિકારીઓએ જેલર પાસે કેટલાક સૈનિકોને જેલમાં એવું કહીને મોકલ્યા કે, ''હવે તે બે કેદીઓને જવા દો." BSB BSB: When daylight came, the magistrates sent their officers with the order: “Release those men.”

BSB BSB: The jailer informed Paul: “The magistrates have sent orders to release you. Now you may go on your way in peace.”
37 UDB પણ પાઉલે જેલરને કહ્યું કે, "અમે રોમન નાગરિક હોવા છતાં, શહેરના અધિકારીઓએ માણસોને જણાવ્યું કે ટોળાની સામે અમને મારે અને અમને જેલમાં પૂરે. અને હવે કોઇને જણાવ્યા વગર તેઓ અમને જતા રહેવાનું કહે છે! અમે તે સ્વીકારીશું નહિ! શહેરના અધિકારીઓ જાતે જ આવે અને અમને જેલમાંથી મુક્ત કરે." BSB BSB: But Paul said to the officers, “They beat us publicly without a trial and threw us into prison, even though we are Roman citizens. And now do they want to send us away secretly? Absolutely not! Let them come themselves and escort us out!”
38 UDB તેથી સૈનિકો ગયા અને શહેરના અધિકારીઓને જે પાઉલે કહ્યું હતું તે જણાવ્યું. જ્યારે શહેરના અધિકારીઓએ સાંભળ્યું કે, પાઉલ અને સિલાસ રોમન નાગરિકો છે, ત્યારે તેઓ ગભરાયા કારણ કે તેઓએ ખોટું કાર્ય કર્યું હતું. BSB BSB: So the officers relayed this message to the magistrates, who were alarmed to hear that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens.
