1 UDB પાઉલે યહૂદી ન્યાયસભાની સામે જોઇને કહ્યું: "મારા યહૂદી ભાઈઓ, મારા જીવન પર્યંત હું આપણા ઈશ્વરને માન આપતો આવ્યો છું, અને હું જાણતો નથી કે મેં કશું ખોટું કર્યું હોય." BSB BSB: Paul looked directly at the Sanhedrin and said, “Brothers, I have conducted myself before God in all good conscience to this day.”

3 UDB ત્યારે પાઉલે અનાન્યાને કહ્યું, "ઓ પાખંડી! ઈશ્વર તને આ માટે શિક્ષા કરશે. ઈશ્વરે મૂસાને જે નિયમો આપ્યા હતા, તે પ્રમાણે તું ત્યાં બેસીને મારો ન્યાય કરે છે. પણ તું પોતે તે નિયમોનો ભંગ કરે છે, કારણ કે મેં કશો ગુનો કર્યો હોય કે મેં કશું ખોટું કર્યું છે તે સાબિત થયા પહેલાં તેં મને મારવાની આજ્ઞા કરી!" BSB BSB: Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! You sit here to judge me according to the law, yet you yourself violate the law by commanding that I be struck.”
4 UDB જે લોકો પાઉલની નજીક ઊભા હતા તેમણે તેને કહ્યું, "તારે ઈશ્વરના સેવક, આપણા મુખ્ય યાજક જોડે અયોગ્ય રીતે વાત કરવી જોઈએ નહિ!" BSB BSB: But those standing nearby said, “How dare you insult the high priest of God!”

BSB BSB: “Brothers,” Paul replied, “I was not aware that he was the high priest, for it is written: ‘Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.’”

BSB BSB: Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee. It is because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial.”

BSB BSB: A great clamor arose, and some scribes from the party of the Pharisees got up and contended sharply, “We find nothing wrong with this man. What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”
10 UDB ત્યારબાદ ફરોશીઓ અને સદૂકીઓ એકબીજા પ્રતિ હિંસક થઈ ગયા. તેથી સેનાપતિ ગભરાઈ ગયો કે રખેને તેઓ પાઉલના ટુકડે-ટુકડા કરી નાખે. સેનાપતિએ સૈનિકોને આજ્ઞા કરી કે તેઓ પાઉલને જેલમાં યહૂદી ન્યાયસભાના સભ્યો મધ્યેથી બહાર લઈ આવે અને કિલ્લામાં ઉપર લઈ જાય BSB BSB: The dispute grew so violent that the commander was afraid they would tear Paul to pieces. He ordered the soldiers to go down and remove him by force and bring him into the barracks.
11 UDB તે રાત્રે, પાઉલે પ્રભુ ઈસુને તેની પાસે આવીને ઊભા રહેલા જોયા. પ્રભુએ તેને કહ્યું, "હિંમત રાખ! તેં અહીં યરુશાલેમમાં મારા વિષે લોકોને સાક્ષી આપી છે, અને તારે રોમમાં પણ મારા વિષે લોકોને સાક્ષી આપવાની છે." BSB BSB: The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so also you must testify in Rome.”
12 UDB બીજે દિવસે સવારે થોડા યહૂદીઓ જેઓ પાઉલને ધિક્કારતા હતા તેઓ ભેગા થયા અને તેને કઈ રીતે મારી નાખવો તેની ચર્ચા કરી. તેઓએ એક બીજાને કહ્યું કે જ્યાં સુધી તે મરી નહિ જાય ત્યાં સુધી તેઓ કંઈ ખાશે કે પીશે નહિ. તેઓએ ઈશ્વર સમક્ષ પ્રતિજ્ઞા લીધી કે જો કોઈ આમ ન કરે તો ઈશ્વર તેમના પર આફત લાવે. BSB BSB: When daylight came, the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.
13 UDB જેઓ પાઉલને મારી નાખવા માગતા હતા તેઓ ચાળીસથી વધારે હતા. BSB BSB: More than forty of them were involved in this plot.
14 UDB તેઓ મુખ્ય યાજકો અને યહૂદી આગેવાનો પાસે ગયા અને તેમને કહ્યું, "અમે પ્રતિજ્ઞા લીધી છે કે જ્યાં સુધી અમે પાઉલને મારી નહિ નાખીએ, ત્યાં સુધી અમે કઈ ખાઈશું કે પીશું નહિ તે ઈશ્વરે સાંભળી છે." BSB BSB: They went to the chief priests and elders and said, “We have bound ourselves with a solemn oath not to eat anything until we have killed Paul.
15 UDB તેથી અમે તમને સેનાપતિ પાસે જવા કહીએ છીએ અને તમે તેને જઈને વિનંતી કરો કે આખી યહૂદી ન્યાયસભાના બદલે, પાઉલને નીચે અમારી પાસે લાવવામાં આવે. સેનાપતિને એવું કહેવામાં આવે કે તમારે પાઉલ સાથે વધારે વાત કરવી છે. જ્યારે પાઉલ માર્ગમાં આવતો હશે ત્યારે અમે તેને મારી નાખવા તૈયાર રહીશું. BSB BSB: Now then, you and the Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him down to you on the pretext of examining his case more carefully. We are ready to kill him on the way.”
16 UDB પણ તેઓ જે યોજના બનાવી રહ્યા હતા તે વિશે પાઉલની બહેનના દીકરાએ સાંભળ્યું, તેથી તે કિલ્લામાં ગયો અને પાઉલને તે વિશે જણાવ્યું. BSB BSB: But when the son of Paul’s sister heard about the plot, he went into the barracks and told Paul.

18 UDB તેથી અધિકારી તે જુવાનને સેનાપતિ પાસે લઈ ગયો. અધિકારીએ સેનાપતિને કહ્યું, "પાઉલ નામના કેદીએ મને બોલાવીને કહ્યું, 'આ જુવાનને સેનાપતિ પાસે લઈ જાઓ, કારણ કે તેણે તેમને કંઈક જણાવવું છે." BSB BSB: So the centurion took him to the commander and said, “Paul the prisoner sent and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.”
19 UDB સેનાપતિ તે જુવાનનો હાથ પકડીને તેને બાજુએ લઈ ગયો અને પૂછ્યું, "જુવાન તું મને શી માહિતી આપવા માગે છે?" BSB BSB: The commander took the young man by the hand, drew him aside, and asked, “What do you need to tell me?”
20 UDB તેણે કહ્યું, "થોડા યહૂદીઓ છે જેઓ પાઉલને કાલે બહાર ન્યાયસભાની સામે લાવવા માગે છે. તેઓ કહેશે કે તેમને પાઉલને થોડા પ્રશ્નો પૂછવા છે. પણ તે સાચું નથી. BSB BSB: He answered, “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul to the Sanhedrin tomorrow on the pretext of acquiring more information about him.
21 UDB તેઓ જે તમને કહે તે કરશો નહિ, કારણ કે ચાળીસ કરતાં વધારે યહૂદી માણસો ત્યાં સંતાઈ રહ્યા હશે અને ન્યાયસભા માટે પાઉલને જ્યારે લઈ જવામાં આવતો હશે ત્યારે રસ્તા પર તેની રાહ જોઈ રહ્યા હશે. તેઓએ ઈશ્વર સમક્ષ પ્રતિજ્ઞા લીધી છે કે જ્યાં સુધી તેઓ પાઉલને મારી નહિ નાખે ત્યાં સુધી તેઓ કંઈપણ ખાશે કે પીશે નહિ. અને તેઓ તે કરવા તૈયાર છે, અને હાલમાં તેઓ તમને જે કહે તેની સંમતિની રાહ જોઈ રહ્યા છે." BSB BSB: Do not let them persuade you, because more than forty men are waiting to ambush him. They have bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him; they are ready now, awaiting your consent.”
22 UDB સેનાપતિએ તે જુવાનને કહ્યું, "તેં મને તેઓની યોજના વિષે જણાવ્યું છે તે કોઇને કહીશ નહિ, "ત્યારબાદ તે જુવાનને તેણે મોકલી દીધો. BSB BSB: So the commander dismissed the young man and instructed him, “Do not tell anyone that you have reported this to me.”
23 UDB ત્યારબાદ સેનાપતિએ બે અધિકારીઓને બોલાવ્યા અને કહ્યું, "બસો સૈનિકોની ટુકડીને મુસાફરી માટે તૈયાર કરો. સિત્તેર ઘોડેસવાર સૈનિકોને સાથે લો, અને બસો ભાલાવાળા સૈનિકોને સાથે લો. તમારે બધાએ આજે નવ વાગ્યા સુધી, કાઇસારિયા શહેરમાં જવા માટે તૈયાર રહેવાનું છે. BSB BSB: Then he called two of his centurions and said, “Prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea in the third hour of the night.

28 UDB મારે એ જાણવું હતું કે યહૂદીઓ જે કહેતા હતા તે પ્રમાણે તેણે શો ગુનો કર્યો છે. તેથી હું તેને તેમની યહૂદી ન્યાયસભામાં લઈ ગયો. BSB BSB: and since I wanted to understand their charges against him, I brought him down to their Sanhedrin.
