1 ULB ઈશ્વરનો આત્મા ઓદેદના દીકરા અઝાર્યા પર આવ્યો. BSB BSB: Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah son of Oded.
2 ULB તેથી તે આસાને મળીને બોલ્યો, "આસા તથા સમગ્ર યહૂદિયા અને બિન્યામીનના બધા લોકો, મારી વાત સાંભળો જ્યાં સુધી તમે ઈશ્વર સાથે રહેશો ત્યાં સુધી તેઓ તમારી સાથે રહેશે. તમે જો તેમને શોધશો તો તે તમને મળશે; પણ જો તમે તેમનો ત્યાગ કરશો, તો તે તમારો ત્યાગ કરશે. BSB BSB: So he went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
3 ULB હવે ઘણાં લાંબા સમયથી, ઇઝરાયલીઓ ખરા ઈશ્વરની ભક્તિ કરતા ન હતા. તેઓ સદ્દ્બોધ આપનાર યાજક વિનાના અને નિયમશાસ્ત્ર વિનાના હતા. BSB BSB: For many years Israel has been without the true God, without a priest to instruct them, and without the law.
4 ULB પરંતુ સંકટના સમયે તેઓ ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર, એટલે પોતાના પ્રભુ તરફ ફર્યા અને તેમનો પોકાર કર્યો ત્યારે ઈશ્વર તેમને મળ્યા. BSB BSB: But in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought Him, and He was found by them.
5 ULB તે દિવસોમાં ત્યાં કોઈ માણસમાં શાંતિ નહોતી, દેશના સર્વ રહેવાસીઓ બહુ દુઃખી હતા. BSB BSB: In those days there was no safety for travelers, because the residents of the lands had many conflicts.
6 ULB પ્રજાઓ એકબીજાની વિરુદ્ધ અને નગરો એકબીજા વિરુદ્ધ લડીને પાયમાલ થતાં હતાં, તેઓ તૂટી ગયા હતા, કેમ કે ઈશ્વર તેઓને દરેક પ્રકારની આફતો વડે શિક્ષા કરતા હતા. BSB BSB: Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God afflicted them with all kinds of adversity.
7 ULB પણ તમે બળવાન થાઓ અને તમારા હાથોને ઢીલા પડવા ન દો, કેમ કે તમારી મહેનતનું ફળ તમને મળશે." BSB BSB: But as for you, be strong; do not be discouraged, for your work will be rewarded.”
8 ULB જયારે આસાએ પ્રબોધક ઓદેદની પ્રબોધવાણી સાંભળી ત્યારે હિંમત રાખીને યહૂદિયા તથા બિન્યામીનના સર્વ દેશમાંથી તથા જે નગરો એફ્રાઇમના પહાડી પ્રદેશમાં કબજે કરી લીધાં હતા, તે બધામાંથી ધિક્કારપાત્ર મૂર્તિઓને હઠાવી દીધી. અને તેણે ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનના દ્વારમંડપ આગળની ઈશ્વરની વેદીને ફરીથી બાંધી. BSB BSB: When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Azariah son of Oded the prophet, he took courage and removed the detestable idols from the whole land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim. He then restored the altar of the LORD that was in front of the portico of the LORD’s temple.
9 ULB તેણે આખા યહૂદિયા તથા બિન્યામીનને, તેમ જ જેઓ તેઓની સાથે રહેતા હતા તેઓમાં- એફ્રાઇમ, મનાશ્શા તથા શિમયોનમાંથી આવી વસેલાઓને એકત્ર કર્યા. જયારે તેઓએ જોયું કે પ્રભુ તેઓના ઈશ્વર તેની સાથે છે, ત્યારે ઇઝરાયલમાંથી ઘણાં લોકો તેના પક્ષમાં આવ્યા. BSB BSB: And he assembled all Judah and Benjamin, along with those from the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who had settled among them, for great numbers had come over to him from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
10 ULB આસાની કારકિર્દીના પંદરમા વર્ષે ત્રીજા મહિનામાં યરુશાલેમમાં તેઓ ભેગા થયા. BSB BSB: So they gathered together in Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign.
11 ULB તેઓએ પોતાને મળેલી લૂંટમાંથી તે દિવસે ઈશ્વરને સાતસો બળદો તથા સાત હજાર ઘેટાંનું અર્પણ કર્યું. BSB BSB: At that time they sacrificed to the LORD seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep from all the plunder they had brought back.
12 ULB તેઓએ ઈશ્વરને શોધવાને માટે પોતાના પિતૃઓના પ્રભુ ઈશ્વરની સાચા હૃદયથી તથા સંપૂર્ણ ભાવથી સ્તુતિ કરવાનો કરાર કર્યો. BSB BSB: Then they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul.
13 ULB નાનો હોય કે મોટો, સ્ત્રી હોય કે પુરુષ, જે કોઈ ઇઝરાયલના પ્રભુ ઈશ્વરની સ્તુતિ ન કરે તેને મૃત્યુદંડ આપવાને એકમત થયા. BSB BSB: And whoever would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, would be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.
14 ULB તેઓએ ઈશ્વરની આગળ ઊંચા અવાજે પોકારીને તથા રણશિંગડાં અને શરણાઈ વગાડીને સોગન ખાધા. BSB BSB: They took an oath to the LORD with a loud voice, with shouting, trumpets, and rams’ horns.
15 ULB તે સોગનથી યહૂદિયાના સર્વ લોકો ખૂબ આનંદ પામ્યા, કારણ કે તેઓએ પોતાના પૂરા અંત:કરણથી સોગન ખાધા હતા અને તેઓએ પોતાની સંપૂર્ણ ઇચ્છાથી ઈશ્વરને શોધ્યા અને તે તેઓને મળ્યા. ઈશ્વરે તેઓને ચારેતરફની શાંતિ આપી. BSB BSB: And all Judah rejoiced over the oath, for they had sworn it with all their heart. They had sought Him earnestly, and He was found by them. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.
16 ULB આસાએ પોતાની દાદી માકાને પણ રાજમાતાની પદવી પરથી દૂર કરી, કારણ કે તેણે અશેરાને માટે ધિક્કારપાત્ર મૂર્તિ બનાવી હતી. આસાએ તે મૂર્તિને કાપી નાખી, તેનો ભૂકો કરીને કિદ્રોન નાળાં આગળ તેને સળગાવી દીધી. BSB BSB: King Asa also removed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother because she had made a detestable Asherah pole. Asa chopped down the pole, crushed it, and burned it in the Kidron Valley.
17 ULB જો કે ઇઝરાયલમાંથી ધર્મ સ્થાનો કાઢી નંખાયા નહિ. તોપણ આસાનું હૃદય તેના દિવસોમાં ઈશ્વર પ્રત્યે સંપૂર્ણ હતું. BSB BSB: The high places were not removed from Israel, but Asa’s heart was fully devoted all his days.
18 ULB તેના પિતાની પવિત્ર વસ્તુઓ તથા તેની પોતાની પવિત્ર વસ્તુઓ, એટલે સોનું તથા ચાંદીની વસ્તુઓ તે ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં લાવ્યો. BSB BSB: And he brought into the house of God the silver and gold and the articles that he and his father had dedicated.
19 ULB આસાની કારકિર્દીના પાંત્રીસમા વર્ષ સુધી ત્યાં એક પણ યુદ્ધ થયું નહિ. BSB BSB: And there was no war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s reign.
