1 ULB સાતમે વર્ષે યહોયાદા બળવાન થયો. તેણે શતાધિપતિ એટલે યરોહામનો દીકરો અઝાર્યા, યહોહાનાનનો દીકરો ઇશ્માએલ, ઓબેદનો દીકરો અઝાર્યા, અદાયાનો દીકરો માસેયા તથા ઝિખ્રીનો દીકરો અલીશાફાટને લઈને તેઓની સાથે કોલકરાર કર્યા. BSB BSB: Then in the seventh year, Jehoiada strengthened himself and made a covenant with the commanders of hundreds—with Azariah son of Jeroham, Ishmael son of Jehohanan, Azariah son of Obed, Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zichri.
2 ULB તેઓએ સમગ્ર યહૂદિયામાં ફરીને ત્યાંના બધાં નગરોમાંથી લેવીઓને તેમ જ ઇઝરાયલી કુટુંબોના વડીલોને એકઠા કર્યા અને તેઓ યરુશાલેમ આવ્યા. BSB BSB: So they went throughout Judah and gathered the Levites from all the cities of Judah and the heads of the families of Israel. And when they came to Jerusalem,
3 ULB તે આખી સભાએ ઘરમાં રાજા સાથે કોલકરાર કર્યો. યહોયાદાએ તેઓને કહ્યું, "જે પ્રમાણે ઈશ્વરે દાઉદનાં સંતાનો સંબંધી વચન આપ્યું હતું કે તેના વંશજો રાજ કરશે તેમ જુઓ, રાજાનો દીકરો રાજ કરશે. BSB BSB: the whole assembly made a covenant with the king in the house of God. “Behold, the king’s son!” said Jehoiada. “He must reign, just as the LORD promised concerning the descendants of David.
4 ULB તમારે આ પ્રમાણે કામ કરવાનું છે: વિશ્રામવારે સેવા કરનાર તમારે એટલે યાજકો અને લેવીઓ ત્રીજા ભાગે દરવાજા આગળ દ્વારપાળ તરીકે ઊભા રહેવું. BSB BSB: This is what you are to do: A third of you priests and Levites who come on duty on the Sabbath shall keep watch at the doors,
5 ULB અને બીજા એક તૃતીયાંશ ભાગે રાજાના મહેલ આગળ ખડા રહેવું; બાકીના ત્રીજા ભાગે ઘોડાના દરવાજા આગળ ઊભા રહેવું. બધા લોકોએ ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનના આંગણામાં રહેવું. BSB BSB: a third shall be at the royal palace, and a third at the Foundation Gate, while all the others are to be in the courtyards of the house of the LORD.
6 ULB યાજકો તથા લેવીઓ જે સેવા કરતા હોય તેઓના સિવાય કોઈને પણ ઘરમાં પ્રવેશ કરવા દેવો નહિ; માત્ર તેઓએ જ અંદર જવું, કેમ કે તેઓ પવિત્ર હોઈને આજના દિવસના કામ માટે તેઓને નિયત કરાયા છે. સર્વ લોકોએ ઈશ્વરની આજ્ઞા પાળવી. BSB BSB: No one is to enter the house of the LORD except the priests and those Levites who serve; they may enter because they are consecrated, but all the people are to obey the requirement of the LORD.
7 ULB લેવીઓએ પોતપોતાની તલવાર હાથમાં રાખીને રાજાની આસપાસ ઊભા રહેવું. જે કોઈ ઘરમાં પ્રવેશે તેને મારી નાખવો. રાજા અંદર આવે કે બહાર જાય ત્યારે તમારે તેની સાથે રહેવું." BSB BSB: The Levites must surround the king with weapons in hand, and anyone who enters the temple must be put to death. You must stay close to the king wherever he goes.”
8 ULB તેથી યહોયાદા યાજકે જે જે આજ્ઞા કરી તે સર્વનો લેવીઓએ તથા યહૂદિયાના બધાં લોકોએ પાલન કર્યુ. તેઓએ પોતપોતાનાં માણસોને એટલે વિશ્રામવારે અંદર આવનાર અને બહાર જનારને ભેગા કર્યા; કેમ કે યહોયાદા યાજકે વારા પ્રમાણે પાછા જનારાઓને જવા દીધાં નહોતા. BSB BSB: So the Levites and all Judah did everything that Jehoiada the priest had ordered. Each of them took his men—those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty—for Jehoiada the priest had not released any of the divisions.
9 ULB યાજક યહોયાદાએ ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં દાઉદ રાજાની જે નાનીમોટી ઢાલો અને ભાલા હતા તે શતાધિપતિ અધિકારીઓને આપ્યાં. BSB BSB: Then Jehoiada the priest gave to the commanders of hundreds the spears and the large and small shields of King David that were in the house of God.
10 ULB યહોયાદાએ લોકોના હાથમાં હથિયાર આપીને સભાસ્થાનની જમણી બાજુ અને ડાબી બાજુ સુધી વેદી અને સભાસ્થાનને ઘેરીને રાજાનું રક્ષણ કરવા તેઓને ગોઠવી દીધા. BSB BSB: He stationed all the troops, with their weapons in hand, surrounding the king by the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.
11 ULB પછી યહોયાદા રાજાના દીકરાને લઈ આવ્યો. અને તેના માથા ઉપર મુગટ પહેરાવ્યો. તેણે તેને નિયમશાસ્ત્રના ગ્રંથની નકલ આપી. પછી તેને રાજા તરીકે જાહેર કર્યો. યહોયાદા અને તેના પુત્રોએ તેનો રાજયાભિષેક કર્યો. પછી તેઓએ કહ્યું, "રાજા ઘણું જીવો." BSB BSB: Then Jehoiada and his sons brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, presented him with the Testimony, and proclaimed him king. They anointed him and shouted, “Long live the king!”
12 ULB જયારે અથાલ્યાએ લોકોની ભાગદોડનો અવાજ અને રાજાની સ્તુતિનો અવાજ સાંભળ્યો ત્યારે તે યહોવાહના ઘરમાં આવી. BSB BSB: When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and cheering the king, she went out to them in the house of the LORD.
13 ULB અને તેણે જોયું કે રાજા સ્તંભ પાસે દરવાજા આગળ ઊભો હતો. તેની પાસે લશ્કરી અધિકારીઓ અને રણશિંગડાં વગાડનારાઓ ઊભા હતા. દેશના બધા લોકો આનંદ કરતા હતા અને રણશિંગડાં વગાડતા હતા. ગાયકો વાજિંત્રો સાથે ગીતો ગાઈને ઈશ્વરની સ્તુતિ કરતા હતા. તે જોઈને અથાલ્યાએ પોતાનાં વસ્ત્રો ફાડ્યાં અને તેણે મોટે સાદે બૂમ પાડી, "રાજદ્રોહ, રાજદ્રોહ!" BSB BSB: And she looked and saw the king standing by his pillar at the entrance. The officers and trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets, while the singers with musical instruments were leading the praises. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed, “Treason, treason!”
14 ULB પછી યાજક યહોયાદાએ સૈન્યના ઉપરી સેનાધિપતિઓને બોલાવીને કહ્યું, "તેને સૈનિકોની હરોળની વચમાં થઈને બહાર લાવો; જે કોઈ તેની પાછળ જાય તેને મારી નાખો." યાજકે ચેતવણી આપતા કહ્યું, "ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં તેને મારી નાખવી નહિ." BSB BSB: And Jehoiada the priest sent out the commanders of hundreds in charge of the army, saying, “Bring her out between the ranks, and put to the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest had said, “She must not be put to death in the house of the LORD.”
15 ULB તેથી તેઓએ તેને રસ્તો આપ્યો અને તે ઘોડા-દરવાજાના પ્રવેશદ્વાર પાસેથી પસાર થઈને તે રાજમહેલ પાસે આવી. ત્યાં તેઓએ તેને મારી નાખી. BSB BSB: So they seized Athaliah as she reached the entrance of the Horse Gate on the palace grounds, and there they put her to death.
16 ULB પછી યહોયાદાએ પોતે, સર્વ લોકો અને રાજાની વચ્ચે કરેલ કરાર કર્યો કે, તેઓ ઈશ્વરના લોકો જ બનીને રહેશે. BSB BSB: Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself and the king and the people that they would be the LORD’s people.
17 ULB તેથી બધા લોકોએ જઈને બઆલના મંદિરને તોડી નાખ્યું; તેઓએ બઆલની વેદીઓ અને મૂર્તિઓને ભાંગીને તેના ટુકડાં કરી નાખ્યા. અને બઆલના યાજક માત્તાનને તે વેદીઓની સામે જ મારી નાખ્યો. BSB BSB: So all the people went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces and killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars.
18 ULB મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્ર પ્રમાણે ઈશ્વરને દહનીયાર્પણ ચઢાવવા માટે દાઉદ રાજાએ જે લેવી યાજકોની ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં સેવા આપવા નિમણૂક કરી હતી તેઓના હાથ નીચે આનંદ તથા કિર્તન કરવાને દાઉદના સંચાલન મુજબ યહોયાદાએ સભાસ્થાન માટે કારભારીઓ નીમ્યા. BSB BSB: Moreover, Jehoiada put the oversight of the house of the LORD into the hands of the Levitical priests, whom David had appointed over the house of the LORD, to offer burnt offerings to the LORD as written in the Law of Moses, with rejoicing and song, as ordained by David.
19 ULB તેણે ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનના દરવાજાઓ આગળ દ્વારપાળો ગોઠવી દીધા જેથી કોઈ પણ રીતે અશુદ્ધ હોય એવો માણસ તેમાં દાખલ ન થાય. BSB BSB: He stationed gatekeepers at the gates of the house of the LORD, so that no one who was in any way unclean could enter.
20 ULB યહોયાદા પોતાની સાથે શાતાધિપતિઓને, કુલીન પુરુષોને, લોકોના અધિકારીઓને તથા દેશના બધા લોકોને લઈને રાજાને સભાસ્થાનથી નીચે લઈ આવ્યો અને પછી ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનના 'ઉપલા દરવાજાથી' તેને રાજમહેલમાં લઈ ગયો અને તેને રાજસિંહાસન ઉપર બેસાડ્યો. BSB BSB: And he took with him the commanders of hundreds, the nobles, the rulers of the people, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD and entered the royal palace through the Upper Gate. They seated King Joash on the royal throne,
21 ULB દેશના સર્વ લોકો ખૂબ આનંદ પામ્યા અને નગરમાં સર્વત્ર શાંતિ વ્યાપી ગઈ. કેમ કે તેઓએ અથાલ્યાને તલવારથી મારી નાંખી હતી. BSB BSB: and all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because Athaliah had been put to the sword.
