BSB BSB: Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, so he took him and circumcised him on account of the Jews in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

BSB BSB: Among those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message.

Eventually Paul grew so aggravated that he turned and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” And the spirit left her at that very moment.

22 ULB જેઓ પાઉલ અને સિલાસ પર દોષ મૂકી રહ્યા હતા તેઓની સાથે બીજા ઘણા જોડાયાં, અને તેઓને તેમને મારવાનું શરુ કર્યું. પછી રોમન અધિકારીઓએ સૈનિકોને પાઉલ અને સિલાસના વસ્ત્રો કાઢીને તેમને કોરડાથી ફટકારવાનું કહ્યું. BSB BSB: The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered that they be stripped and beaten with rods.
23 ULB તેથી સૈનિકોએ પાઉલ અને સિલાસને ક્રુરતાથી કોરડા માર્યા. તે પછી, તેઓએ તેમને લઈ જઈને જેલમાં પૂર્યા. તેઓ નાસી ન જાય તેનું ધ્યાન રાખવાનું તેઓએ જેલરને જણાવ્યું. BSB BSB: And after striking them with many blows, they threw them into prison and ordered the jailer to guard them securely.

26 ULB એકાએક ખુબ મોટા ધરતીકંપે આખી જેલ ધ્રુજાવી નાખી. ધરતીકંપના લીધે જેલના બધા દરવાજા ઉઘડી ગયા અને બધા કેદીઓની સાંકળો નીકળી પડી. BSB BSB: Suddenly a strong earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. At once all the doors flew open and everyone’s chains came loose.
27 ULB જેલર જાગ્યો અને જોયું કે જેલના દરવાજા ધરતીકંપથી ઉઘડી ગયા છે.તેણે વિચાર્યું કે કેદીઓ જેલમાંથી ભાગી ગયા છે, તેથી તેણે પોતાને મારી નાખવા માટે તેની તલવાર કાઢી, કેમ કે તે જાણતો હતો કે જો કેદીઓ મુક્ત થઈ જશે તો શહેરના અધિકારીઓ તેને મારી નાખશે. BSB BSB: When the jailer woke up and saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, presuming that the prisoners had escaped.
28 ULB પાઉલે જેલરને જોયો અને તેને બૂમ પડી,” તારી જાતને મારી નાખતો નહિ! અમે બધા કેદીઓ અહી જ છીએ!” BSB BSB: But Paul called out in a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself! We are all here!”
29 ULB ત્યારે તે દીવો મંગાવીને અંદર કૂદી આવ્યો, અને ધ્રૂજતો ધ્રૂજતો પાઉલ તથા સિલાસને પગે પડ્યો. BSB BSB: Calling for lights, the jailer rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.
30 ULB તેઓને બહાર લાવીને તેણે કહ્યું કે, હે સાહેબો, ઉદ્ધાર પામવા સારુ મારે શું કરવું જોઈએ? BSB BSB: Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
31 ULB ત્યારે તેઓએ કહ્યું કે, પ્રભુ ઈસુ પર વિશ્વાસ કર, એટલે તું તથા તારા ઘરના સર્વ ઉદ્ધાર પામશો. BSB BSB: They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”
32 ULB ત્યારે તેઓએ પાઉલ અને સિલાસે જેલરને તથા જે તેનાં ઘરમાં હતાં તે સર્વને પ્રભુનાં વચનો કહી સંભળાવ્યા. BSB BSB: Then Paul and Silas spoke the word of the Lord to him and to everyone in his house.
33 ULB પછી રાતના તે જ સમયે તેણે જેલરે તેઓને પાઉલ તથા સિલાસને લઈને તેઓના સોળ ધોયા અને તરત તે તથા તેનાં ઘરનાં બધા માણસો બાપ્તિસ્મા પામ્યાં. BSB BSB: At that hour of the night, the jailer took them and washed their wounds. And without delay, he and all his household were baptized.
34 ULB જેલરે તેઓને પોતાને ઘરે લાવીને તેઓની આગળ ભોજન પીરસ્યું, અને તેના ઘરનાં સર્વએ ઈશ્વર પર વિશ્વાસ કરીને ઘણો આનંદ કર્યો. BSB BSB: Then he brought them into his home and set a meal before them. So he and all his household rejoiced that they had come to believe in God.
35 ULB દિવસ ઊગતાં અધિકારીઓએ સુરક્ષા કર્મચારીઓને મોકલીને કહેવડાવ્યું કે, તે માણસોને છોડી દે. BSB BSB: When daylight came, the magistrates sent their officers with the order: “Release those men.”
36 ULB પછી જેલરે પાઉલને એ વાતની ખબર આપી કે, અધિકારીઓએ તમને છોડી દેવાનું કહેવડાવ્યું છે, માટે હવે તમે નીકળીને શાંતિએ ચાલ્યા જાઓ. BSB BSB: The jailer informed Paul: “The magistrates have sent orders to release you. Now you may go on your way in peace.”
37 ULB પણ પાઉલે તેઓને કહ્યું કે, અમને ગુનેગાર ઠરાવ્યા વગર તેઓએ અમો રોમનોને જાહેર રીતે માર મારીને જેલમાં નાખ્યા છે, અને હવે શું તેઓ અમને છાની રીતે બહાર કાઢી મૂકે છે? ના, એમ તો નહિ, પણ તેઓ પોતે આવીને અમને બહાર કાઢે. BSB BSB: But Paul said to the officers, “They beat us publicly without a trial and threw us into prison, even though we are Roman citizens. And now do they want to send us away secretly? Absolutely not! Let them come themselves and escort us out!”
38 ULB ત્યારે સુરક્ષા કર્મચારીઓએ અધિકારીઓને એ વાતની ખબર આપી. ત્યારે તેઓ રોમન છે, એ સાંભળીને તેઓ ગભરાઈ ગયા. BSB BSB: So the officers relayed this message to the magistrates, who were alarmed to hear that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens.
39 ULB પછી તેઓએ અધિકારીઓએ આવીને તેઓને પાઉલ અને સિલાસને કાલાવાલા કર્યા, અને તેઓને બહાર લાવીને શહેરમાંથી નીકળી જવાને વિનંતી કરી. BSB BSB: They came to appease them and led them out, requesting that they leave the city.
40 ULB પછી તેઓ જેલમાંથી નીકળીને લુદિયાને ત્યાં આવ્યા; અને ભાઈઓને મળીને તેઓને દિલાસો આપ્યો, પછી ત્યાંથી વિદાય થયા. BSB BSB: After Paul and Silas came out of the prison, they went to Lydia’s house to see the brothers and encourage them. Then they left the city.
