2 ULB પ્રભુ યહોવાહે પોતાની પવિત્રતાને નામે પ્રતિજ્ઞા લીધી છે કે; ''જુઓ, તમારા પર એવા આપત્તિના દિવસો આવી પડશે કે, જ્યારે તેઓ તમને કડીઓ ઘાલીને, તથા તમારામાંના બાકી રહેલાઓને માછલી પકડવાના ગલ વડે ઘસડી જવામાં આવશે. 9 ULB "મેં તમારા પર ફૂગની તથા ઝાકળની આફત આણી. તમારા સંખ્યાબંધ બાગ, તમારા દ્રાક્ષવાડી, તમારાં અંજીરનાં વૃક્ષોને, અને તમારાં જૈતૂનનાં વૃક્ષોને, તીડો ખાઈ ગયાં છે. તોપણ તમે મારી તરફ પાછા ફર્યા નહિ" એવું યહોવાહ કહે છે. BSB BSB: “I struck you with blight and mildew in your growing gardens and vineyards; the locust devoured your fig and olive trees, yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
10 ULB "મેં મિસરની જેમ તમારા પર મરકી મોકલી છે. મેં તમારા જુવાનોને તલવારથી સંહાર કર્યો છે, અને તમારા ઘોડાઓનું હરણ કરાવ્યું છે. મેં તમારી છાવણીની દુર્ગંધ તમારાં નસકોરામાં ભરી છે, તોપણ તમે મારી પાસે પાછા આવ્યા નહિ'' એવું યહોવાહ કહે છે. BSB BSB: “I sent plagues among you like those of Egypt; I killed your young men with the sword, along with your captured horses. 11 ULB "ઈશ્વરે સદોમ અને ગમોરાની પાયમાલી કરી, તેમ મેં તમારા કેટલાક પર ત્રાસદાયક આફતો મોકલી. તમે બળતામાંથી ખેંચી કાઢેલા ખોયણાના જેવા હતા, તેમ છતાં તમે મારી પાસે પાછા આવ્યા નહિ" એવું યહોવાહ કહે છે.
