1 ULB ત્રીજા દિવસે એસ્તેર રાજપોશાક પહેરીને રાજાના ખંડની સામે મહેલની અંદરના ચોકમાં જઈને ઊભી રહી. એ વખતે રાજા રાજમહેલના પ્રવેશદ્વાર આગળ પોતાના સિંહાસન પર બિરાજેલો હતો. BSB BSB: On the third day, Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace across from the king’s quarters. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the royal courtroom, facing the entrance.
2 ULB તેણે રાણી એસ્તેરને દરબારમાં ઊભેલી જોઈ અને રાજાની રહેમનજર તેના પર થવાથી પોતાનો હાથમાંનો સોનાનો રાજદંડ તેણે એસ્તેર સામે ધર્યો એટલે એસ્તેરે આવીને રાજદંડ સ્પર્શ કર્યો. BSB BSB: As soon as the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, she found favor in his sight. The king extended the gold scepter in his hand toward Esther, and she approached and touched the tip of the scepter.
3 ULB રાજાએ તેને પૂછ્યું, "એસ્તેર રાણી, તારી શી ઇચ્છા છે? તારી શી અરજ છે? તું અડધું રાજય માગશે તો પણ તે તને આપવામાં આવશે." BSB BSB: “What is it, Queen Esther?” the king inquired. “What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be given to you.”
4 ULB એસ્તેરે રાજાને કહ્યું કે, "આપને યોગ્ય લાગે તો મેં જે મિજબાની તૈયાર કરી છે તેમાં આપ હામાન સાથે આજે પધારો." BSB BSB: “If it pleases the king,” Esther replied, “may the king and Haman come today to the banquet I have prepared for the king.”
5 ULB ત્યારે રાજાએ કહ્યું કે, "હામાનને તાકીદ કરો કે એસ્તેરના કહેવા મુજબ તે હાજર થાય." પછી જે મિજબાની એસ્તેરે તૈયાર કરી હતી તેમાં રાજા તથા હામાન આવ્યા. BSB BSB: “Hurry,” commanded the king, “and bring Haman, so we can do as Esther has requested.” So the king and Haman went to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
6 ULB દ્રાક્ષારસ પીતી વેળાએ રાજાએ એસ્તેરને કહ્યું, "એસ્તેર રાણી, તારી શી અરજ છે? તે પ્રમાણે તને આપવામાં આવશે. તારી શી વિનંતી છે? જો અર્ધા રાજ્ય સુધી તું માગશે તે હું તે મંજૂર કરીશ." BSB BSB: And as they drank their wine, the king said to Esther, “What is your petition? It will be given to you. What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be fulfilled.”
7 ULB ત્યારે એસ્તેરે પ્રત્યુત્તર આપ્યો, "મારી અરજ તથા મારી વિનંતી આ છે. BSB BSB: Esther replied, “This is my petition and my request:
8 ULB જો આપની મારા પર કૃપાદ્રષ્ટિ હોય, અને જો આપને મારી અરજ પ્રમાણે બક્ષિસ આપવાની તથા મારી વિનંતી ફળીભૂત કરવાની ઇચ્છા હોય તો રાજા અને હામાન જે મિજબાની હું તેઓને સારુ આવતી કાલે તૈયાર કરું તેમાં આવે, ત્યારે હું રાજાના પ્રશ્નોના જવાબ આપીશ". BSB BSB: If I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and fulfill my request, may the king and Haman come tomorrow to the banquet I will prepare for them. Then I will answer the king’s question.”
9 ULB ત્યારે તે દિવસે હામાન હરખાતો તથા આનંદ કરતો બહાર નીકળ્યો. ત્યારે હામાને મોર્દખાયને રાજાના દરવાજામાં બેઠેલો જોયો, પણ તેને જોઈને મોર્દખાય ઊભો થયો નહિ કે ગભરાયો પણ નહિ, તેથી હામાન મોર્દખાય પર ક્રોધે ભરાયો. BSB BSB: That day Haman went out full of joy and glad of heart. At the king’s gate, however, he saw Mordecai, who did not rise or tremble in fear at his presence. And Haman was filled with rage toward Mordecai.
10 ULB તેમ છતાં હામાન ગુસ્સા પર કાબૂ રાખી ઘરે પાછો આવ્યો અને તેની પત્ની ઝેરેશ તથા તેના મિત્રોને ભેગા કર્યા. BSB BSB: Nevertheless, Haman restrained himself and went home. And calling for his friends and his wife Zeresh,
11 ULB તેઓની સમક્ષ પોતાની પુષ્કળ સમૃદ્ધિ, પોતાનાં સંતાનોની વિશાળ સંખ્યા, કેવી રીતે રાજાએ તેનું સન્માન કર્યું અને તેને બીજા બધાં આગેવાનોથી ઊંચી પદવી આપી હામાને કહી સંભળાવ્યું. BSB BSB: Haman recounted to them his glorious wealth, his many sons, and all the ways the king had honored and promoted him over the other officials and servants.
12 ULB વળી હામાને કહ્યું: એસ્તેર રાણીએ જે મિજબાની તૈયાર કરી હતી તેમાં મારા અને રાજા સિવાય બીજા કોઈને પણ આમંત્રણ આપ્યું નહોતું અને આવતી કાલે પણ તેણે મને રાજા સાથે મિજબાની માટે આમંત્રણ આપ્યું છે. BSB BSB: “What is more,” Haman added, “Queen Esther invited no one but me to join the king at the banquet she prepared, and I am invited back tomorrow along with the king.
13 ULB પરંતુ જ્યાં સુધી પેલા યહૂદી મોર્દખાયને હું રાજાના દરવાજા આગળ બેઠેલો જોઉં છું ત્યાં સુધી આ સર્વ મને કશા કામનું નથી." BSB BSB: Yet none of this satisfies me as long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.”
14 ULB ત્યારે તેની પત્ની ઝેરેશ તથા તેના સર્વ મિત્રોએ તેને સલાહ આપી, "પચાસ ફૂટ ઊંચી એક ફાંસી તૈયાર કરાવ અને સવારે રાજાને કહે કે મોર્દખાયને તે પર ફાંસી દેવી અને પછી તું આનંદથી રાજા સાથે મિજબાની માણજે." આ સલાહ હામાનને પસંદ પડી અને તેઓના કહેવા પ્રમાણે તેણે ફાંસી ઊભી કરાવી. BSB BSB: His wife Zeresh and all his friends told him, “Have them build a gallows fifty cubits high, and ask the king in the morning to have Mordecai hanged on it. Then go to the banquet with the king and enjoy yourself.” The advice pleased Haman, and he had the gallows constructed.
