1બાબિલનો રાજા નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર યહૂદિયાના જે લોકોને બંદીવાન કરીને બાબિલ લઈ ગયો હતો, તેઓમાંના રાજાની ગુલામીમાંથી જે મુક્ત થઈને યરુશાલેમમાં તથા યહૂદિયામાં પોતપોતાનાં નગરમાં પાછા આવ્યા તે માણસોનાં નામ આ પ્રમાણે છે:Now these are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles carried away to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar its king. They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town,

2ઝરુબ્બાબેલ, યેશૂઆ, નહેમ્યા, સરાયા, રએલાયા, મોર્દખાય, બિલ્શાન, મિસ્પાર, બિગ્વાય, રહૂમ, તથા બાનાહ. ઇઝરાયલી લોકોની સંખ્યા આ પ્રમાણે છે.accompanied by Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, and Baanah. This is the count of the men of Israel:

3પારોશના વંશજો: બે હજાર એકસો બોતેર.the descendants of Parosh, 2,172;

4શફાટયાના વંશજો: ત્રણસો બોતેર.the descendants of Shephatiah, 372;

5આરાહના વંશજો: સાતસો પંચોતેર.the descendants of Arah, 775;

6યેશૂઆ તથા યોઆબથી પાહાથ-મોઆબના વંશજો: બે હજાર આઠસો બાર.the descendants of Pahath-moab (through the line of Jeshua and Joab), 2,812;

7એલામના વંશજો: એક હજાર બસો ચોપન.the descendants of Elam, 1,254;

8ઝાત્તૂના વંશજો: નવસો પિસ્તાળીસ.the descendants of Zattu, 945;

9ઝાકકાયના વંશજો: સાતસો સાઠ.the descendants of Zaccai, 760;

10બાનીના વંશજો: છસો બેતાળીસ.the descendants of Bani, 642;

11બેબાયના વંશજો: છસો ત્રેવીસ.the descendants of Bebai, 623;

12આઝગાદના વંશજો: એક હજાર બસો બાવીસ.the descendants of Azgad, 1,222;

13અદોનિકામના વંશજો: છસો છાસઠ.the descendants of Adonikam, 666;

14બિગ્વાયના વંશજો: બે હજાર છપ્પન.the descendants of Bigvai, 2,056;

15આદીનના વંશજો: ચારસો ચોપન.the descendants of Adin, 454;

16આટેરમાંના, હિઝકિયાના વંશજો: અઠ્ઠાણું.the descendants of Ater (through Hezekiah), 98;

17બેસાયના વંશજો: ત્રણસો ત્રેવીસ.the descendants of Bezai, 323;

18યોરાના વંશજો: એકસો બાર.the descendants of Jorah, 112;

19હાશુમના લોકો: બસો ત્રેવીસthe descendants of Hashum, 223;

20ગિબ્બારના લોકો: પંચાણું.the descendants of Gibbar, 95;

21બેથલેહેમના લોકો: એકસો ત્રેવીસ.the men of Bethlehem, 123;

22નટોફાના લોકો: છપ્પન.the men of Netophah, 56;

23અનાથોથના લોકો: એકસો અઠ્ઠાવીસ.the men of Anathoth, 128;

24આઝમાવેથના લોકો: બેતાળીસ.the descendants of Azmaveth, 42;

25કિર્યાથ-યારીમ, કફીરા અને બેરોથના લોકો: સાતસો તેંતાળીસ.the men of Kiriath-jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, 743;

26રામા અને ગેબાના લોકો: છસો એકવીસ.the men of Ramah and Geba, 621;

27મિખ્માશના લોકો: એકસો બાવીસ.the men of Michmash, 122;

28બેથેલ અને આયના લોકો: બસો ત્રેવીસ.the men of Bethel and Ai, 223;

29નબોના લોકો: બાવન.the descendants of Nebo, 52;

30માગ્બીશના લોકો: એકસો છપ્પન.the descendants of Magbish, 156;

31બીજા એલામના લોકો: એક હજાર બસો ચોપન.the descendants of the other Elam, 1,254;

32હારીમના લોકો: ત્રણસો વીસ.the descendants of Harim, 320;

33લોદ, હાદીદ અને ઓનોના લોકો: સાતસો પચીસ.the men of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, 725;

34યરીખોના લોકો: ત્રણસો પિસ્તાળીસ.the men of Jericho, 345;

35સનાઆહના લોકો: ત્રણ હજાર છસો ત્રીસ.and the descendants of Senaah, 3,630.

36યાજકોનાં નામ આ પ્રમાણે છે: યેશૂઆના કુટુંબના, યદાયાના વંશજો: નવસો તોંતેર.The priests: The descendants of Jedaiah (through the house of Jeshua), 973;

37ઈમ્મેરના વંશજો: એક હજાર બાવન.the descendants of Immer, 1,052;

38પાશહૂરના વંશજો: એક હજાર બસો સુડતાળીસ.the descendants of Pashhur, 1,247;

39હારીમના વંશજો: એક હજાર સત્તર.and the descendants of Harim, 1,017.

40લેવીઓના નામ આ પ્રમાણે છે: હોદાવ્યાના અને યેશૂઆના તથા કાદમીએલના વંશજો: ચુંમોતેર.The Levites: the descendants of Jeshua and Kadmiel (through the line of Hodaviah), 74.

41ભક્તિસ્થાનના ગાનારાઓ આ પ્રમાણે છે: આસાફના વંશજો એકસો અઠ્ઠાવીસ.The singers: the descendants of Asaph, 128.

42ભક્તિસ્થાનના દ્વારપાળો: શાલ્લુમ, આટેર, ટાલ્મોન, આક્કુબ, હટીટા અને શોબાયના વંશજો: કુલ એકસો ઓગણચાળીસ.The gatekeepers: the descendants of Shallum, the descendants of Ater, the descendants of Talmon, the descendants of Akkub, the descendants of Hatita, and the descendants of Shobai, 139 in all.

43ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં સેવા કરવા માટે નિયુક્ત કરાયેલા: સીહા, હસૂફા, ટાબ્બાઓથ,The temple servants: the descendants of Ziha, the descendants of Hasupha, the descendants of Tabbaoth,

44કેરોસ, સીહા, પાદોન,the descendants of Keros, the descendants of Siaha, the descendants of Padon,

45લબાના, હગાબા, આક્કુબ,the descendants of Lebanah, the descendants of Hagabah, the descendants of Akkub,

46હાગાબા, શામ્લાય, અને હાનાનના વંશજો;the descendants of Hagab, the descendants of Shalmai, the descendants of Hanan,

47ગિદ્દેલ, ગહાર, રાયા,the descendants of Giddel, the descendants of Gahar, the descendants of Reaiah,

48રસીન, નકોદા, ગાઝ્ઝામ,the descendants of Rezin, the descendants of Nekoda, the descendants of Gazzam,

49ઉઝઝા, પાસેઆ, બેસાઈ,the descendants of Uzza, the descendants of Paseah, the descendants of Besai,

50આસના, મેઉનીમ, નફીસીમના વંશજો;the descendants of Asnah, the descendants of Meunim, the descendants of Nephusim,

51બાકબુક, હાકૂફા અને હાર્હૂર,the descendants of Bakbuk, the descendants of Hakupha, the descendants of Harhur,

52બાસ્લુથ, મહિદા, હાર્શા,the descendants of Bazluth, the descendants of Mehida, the descendants of Harsha,

53બાર્કોસ, સીસરા, તેમા,the descendants of Barkos, the descendants of Sisera, the descendants of Temah,

54નસીઆ અને હટીફાના વંશજો.the descendants of Neziah, and the descendants of Hatipha.

55સુલેમાનના સેવકોના વંશજો: સોટાય, હાસ્સોફેદેથ, પરૂદા,The descendants of the servants of Solomon: the descendants of Sotai, the descendants of Hassophereth, the descendants of Peruda,

56યાઅલાહ, દાર્કોન અને ગિદ્દેલ,the descendants of Jaala, the descendants of Darkon, the descendants of Giddel,

57શફાટયા, હાટ્ટીલ, પોખરેથ-હાસ્સબાઈમ અને આમીના વંશજો.the descendants of Shephatiah, the descendants of Hattil, the descendants of Pochereth-hazzebaim, and the descendants of Ami.

58ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં સેવા કરવા માટે નિયુક્ત કરાયેલા અને સુલેમાનના સેવકોના વંશજો: કુલ ત્રણસો બાણું હતા.The temple servants and descendants of the servants of Solomon numbered 392 in all.

59તેલ-મેલાહ, તેલ હાર્શા, કરુબ, અદાન તથા ઈમ્મેરમાંથી પાછા આવેલા જેઓ ઇઝરાયલીઓમાંના પોતાના પૂર્વજોની વંશાવળી સાબિત કરી શક્યા નહિ, તેઓનાં નામ આ પ્રમાણે છે:The following came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan, and Immer, but they could not prove that their families were descended from Israel:

60દલાયા, ટોબિયા, અને નકોદાના વંશજો: છસો બાવન,the descendants of Delaiah, the descendants of Tobiah, and the descendants of Nekoda, 652 in all.

61યાજકોના વંશજોમાંના: હબાયાના વંશજો, હાક્કોસના વંશજો અને બાર્ઝિલ્લાય કે જેણે ગિલ્યાદી બાર્ઝિલ્લાયની દીકરીઓમાંથી એકની સાથે લગ્ન કર્યું હતું અને તેથી તેનું નામ બાર્ઝિલ્લાય પડ્યું હતું તેના વંશજો.And from among the priests: the descendants of Hobaiah, the descendants of Hakkoz, and the descendants of Barzillai (who had married a daughter of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name).

62તેઓએ સર્વ વંશાવળીમાં તપાસ કરી પણ તેઓનાં નામ મળ્યાં નહિ. તેઓએ યાજકપદપણાને ભ્રષ્ટ કર્યું તેથીThese men searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.

63સૂબાએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે, ઉરીમ અને તુમ્મીમ દ્વારા મંજુર કરવામાં ન આવે ત્યાં સુધી પરમપવિત્ર અર્પણોમાંથી તેઓએ ખાવું નહિ.The governor ordered them not to eat the most holy things until there was a priest to consult the Urim and Thummim.

64સમગ્ર પ્રજાની કુલ સંખ્યા બેતાળીસ હજાર ત્રણસો સાઠ હતી.The whole assembly numbered 42,360,

65તે ઉપરાંત તેઓનાં દાસો તથા દાસીઓ સાત હજાર ત્રણસો સાડત્રીસ હતા અને તેઓમાં ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં ગાયક સ્ત્રી પુરુષોની સંખ્યા બસો હતી.in addition to their 7,337 menservants and maidservants, as well as their 200 male and female singers.

66તેઓનાં જાનવરોમાં, સાતસો છત્રીસ ઘોડા, બસો પિસ્તાળીસ ખચ્ચરો,They had 736 horses, 245 mules,

67ચારસો પાંત્રીસ ઊંટો અને છ હજાર સાતસો વીસ ગધેડાં હતાં.435 camels, and 6,720 donkeys.

68જયારે તેઓ યરુશાલેમમાં, યહોવાહના ઘરમાં ગયા, ત્યારે પિતૃઓના કુટુંબોમાંથી કેટલાક વડીલોએ, સભાસ્થાનને તેની જગ્યાએ પુનઃસ્થાપિત કરવા માટે તેઓએ રાજીખુશીથી અર્પણો આપ્યાં.When they arrived at the house of the LORD in Jerusalem, some of the heads of the families gave freewill offerings to rebuild the house of God on its original site.

69તેઓએ પોતાની શક્તિ પ્રમાણે બાંધકામને માટે એકસઠ હજાર દારીક સોનું, પાંચ હજાર માનેહ ચાંદી અને યાજકના સો ગણવેશ આપ્યાં.According to their ability, they gave to the treasury for this work 61,000 darics of gold, 5,000 minas of silver, and 100 priestly garments.

70યાજકો, લેવીઓ, બીજા કેટલાક લોકો, ગાનારાઓ, દ્વારપાળો તથા ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં સેવા માટે નિયુક્ત કરવામાં આવેલા સેવકોએ, તેમના નગરોમાં વસવાટ કર્યો. સર્વ ઇઝરાયલીઓ પોતપોતાનાં નગરોમાં વસ્યા.So the priests, the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers, and the temple servants, along with some of the people, settled in their own towns; and the rest of the Israelites settled in their towns.
