2 ULB સદોમના રાજા બેરા, ગમોરાના રાજા બિર્શા, આદમાના રાજા શિનાબ, સબોઈમના રાજા શેમેબેર અને બેલા એટલે સોઆરના રાજાની સામે લડાઈ કરી. BSB BSB: went to war against Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar).
3 ULB એ પાંચ રાજાઓ સિદ્દીમની ખીણ જે હાલમાં ખારો સમુદ્ર છે તેમાં એકત્ર થયા. BSB BSB: The latter five came as allies to the Valley of Siddim (that is, the Salt Sea).
4 ULB બાર વર્ષ સુધી તેઓ કદોરલાઓમેરના તાબે રહ્યા હતા, પણ તેરમા વર્ષે તેઓએ બળવો કર્યો. BSB BSB: For twelve years they had been subject to Chedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
5 ULB પછી ચૌદમા વર્ષે કદોરલાઓમેર તથા જે રાજાઓ તેની સાથે હતા, તેઓએ આવીને આશ્તારોથ-કારનાઈમ દેશના રફાઈઓને, હામ દેશના ઝૂઝીઓને, શાવેહ કિર્યાથાઈમ દેશના એમીઓને, BSB BSB: In the fourteenth year, Chedorlaomer and the kings allied with him went out and defeated the Rephaites in Ashteroth-karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites in Shaveh-kiriathaim,
6 ULB હોરીઓ જે પોતાના સેઈર નામના પર્વતમાં રહેતા હતા તેઓના પર અરણ્ય પાસેના એલપારાન સુધી હુમલા કરીને મારતા રહ્યા. BSB BSB: and the Horites in the area of Mount Seir, as far as El-paran, which is near the desert.
7 ULB પછી તેઓ પાછા ફર્યા અને એન-મિશ્પાટ એટલે કાદેશમાં આવ્યા અને અમાલેકીઓના આખા દેશને તથા હાસસોન-તામારમાં રહેનારા અમોરીઓને પણ તેઓએ હરાવ્યા. BSB BSB: Then they turned back to invade En-mishpat (that is, Kadesh), and they conquered the whole territory of the Amalekites, as well as the Amorites who lived in Hazazon-tamar.
8 ULB પછી સદોમનો રાજા, ગમોરાનો રાજા, આદમાનો રાજા, સબોઈમનો રાજા, બેલા એટલે સોઆરના રાજાએ યુદ્ધની તૈયારી કરીને, BSB BSB: Then the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar) marched out and arrayed themselves for battle in the Valley of Siddim
9 ULB એલામના રાજા કદોરલાઓમેર, ગોઈમના રાજા તિદાલ, શિનઆરના રાજા આમ્રાફેલ તથા એલ્લાસારના રાજા આર્યોખ, એ ચાર રાજાઓએ પેલા પાંચ રાજાઓની વિરુદ્ધ લડાઈ કરી. BSB BSB: against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar—four kings against five.
10 ULB હવે સિદ્દીમની ખીણોમાં ડામરના ઘણાં ખાડા હતા અને સદોમ તથા ગમોરાના રાજાઓ નાસી જઈને તેમાં પડ્યા. જે બાકી રહ્યા હતા તેઓ પહાડ તરફ નાસી ગયા. BSB BSB: Now the Valley of Siddim was full of tar pits, and as the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some men fell into the pits, but the survivors fled to the hill country.
11 ULB પછી સદોમ તથા ગમોરામાંની ચીજવસ્તુઓ અને તેઓની સંપત્તિ લઈને પોતાને રસ્તે ચાલ્યા ગયા. BSB BSB: The four kings seized all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food, and they went on their way.
12 ULB જયારે તેઓ ગયા, ત્યારે તેઓએ ઇબ્રામનો ભત્રીજો લોત, જે સદોમમાં રહેતો હતો, તેને પણ પકડીને તેની સર્વ સંપત્તિ લઈને તેઓ ચાલ્યા ગયા. BSB BSB: They also carried off Abram’s nephew Lot and his possessions, since Lot was living in Sodom.
13 ULB જે એક જણ બચી ગયો હતો તેણે આવીને હિબ્રૂ ઇબ્રામને ખબર આપી. તે વખતે ઇબ્રામ અમોરી મામરેનાં એલોન વૃક્ષ પાસે રહેતો હતો. મામરે ઇબ્રામના મિત્રો એશ્કોલ અને આનેરનો ભાઈ હતો. BSB BSB: Then an escapee came and reported this to Abram the Hebrew. Now Abram was living near the Oaks of Mamre the Amorite, a brother of Eshcol and Aner, all of whom were bound by treaty to Abram.
15 ULB તે રાત્રે તેણે તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ પોતાના માણસોના બે ભાગ પાડીને તેઓ પર હુમલો કર્યો અને દમસ્કસની ડાબી બાજુના હોબા સુધી તેઓનો પીછો કર્યો. BSB BSB: During the night, Abram divided his forces and routed Chedorlaomer’s army, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus.
16 ULB પછી તે પોતાના સંબંધી લોતને, તેની સંપત્તિને, સ્ત્રીઓને તથા બીજા દાસોને પાછા લાવ્યો. BSB BSB: He retrieved all the goods, as well as his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the rest of the people.
17 ULB કદોરલાઓમેર તથા તેની સાથે જે રાજાઓ હતા, તેઓને હરાવીને ઇબ્રામ પાછો આવતો હતો ત્યારે તેને મળવા સારુ સદોમનો રાજા શાવેહની ખીણમાં એટલે રાજાની ખીણમાં આવ્યો. BSB BSB: After Abram returned from defeating Chedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).
18 ULB સાલેમ નો રાજા મલ્ખીસદેક, રોટલી તથા દ્રાક્ષારસ લઈને આવ્યો. તે પરાત્પર ઈશ્વરનો યાજક હતો. BSB BSB: Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine—since he was priest of God Most High—
19 ULB તેણે ઇબ્રામ આશીર્વાદ આપીને કહ્યું, "પરાત્પર ઈશ્વર, જે આકાશ તથા પૃથ્વીના ઉત્પન્નકર્તા છે તેમનાંથી ઇબ્રામ આશીર્વાદિત થાઓ. BSB BSB: and he blessed Abram and said: “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,
20 ULB જે સર્વશ્રેષ્ઠ ઈશ્વરે તારા શત્રુઓને તારા હાથમાં સોંપ્યા છે, પરાત્પર ઈશ્વરની સ્તુતિ થાઓ." પછી ઇબ્રામે સર્વ સંપત્તિમાંથી તેને દસમો ભાગ આપ્યો. BSB BSB: and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of everything.
21 ULB સદોમના રાજાએ ઇબ્રામને કહ્યું, "મને માણસો આપ અને પોતાને સારુ સંપત્તિ લઈ લે." BSB BSB: The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people, but take the goods for yourself.”
22 ULB ઇબ્રામે સદોમના રાજાને કહ્યું, "પરાત્પર ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ કે, જેમણે આકાશ તથા પૃથ્વીને ઉત્પન્ન કર્યાં, તેમને મેં ગંભીરતાપૂર્વક વચન આપ્યું છે કે, BSB BSB: But Abram replied to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the LORD God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,
23 ULB હું તારી પાસે સૂતળી કે ચંપલની દોરીનો ટુકડોય અથવા તારી અન્ય કોઈપણ વસ્તુ લઈશ નહિ, રખેને તું કહે કે, 'મેં ઇબ્રામને આપ્યું તેથી તે ધનવાન થયો છે.' BSB BSB: that I will not accept even a thread, or a strap of a sandal, or anything that belongs to you, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’
24 ULB જુવાનોએ જે ખાધું છે તે હું સ્વીકારું છું, મારી સાથે જે ભાઈઓ આવ્યા તેઓને એટલે કે આનેર, એશ્કોલ તથા મામરેને તે મેળવેલી સંપત્તિમાંથી હિસ્સો આપજે." BSB BSB: I will accept nothing but what my men have eaten and the share for the men who went with me—Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. They may take their portion.”
