1 ULB એફ્રાઇમ વાયુ પર નિર્વાહ કરે છે. પૂર્વના પવન પાછળ જાય છે. તે જૂઠ તથા હિંસાની વૃદ્ધિ કરે છે, તેઓ આશ્શૂરની સાથે કરાર કરે છે, અને મિસરમાં જૈતૂનનું તેલ લઈ જવામાં આવે છે. BSB BSB: Ephraim feeds on the wind and pursues the east wind all day long; he multiplies lies and violence; he makes a covenant with Assyria and sends olive oil to Egypt.
2 ULB યહૂદિયા વિરુદ્ધ યહોવાહને દલીલ છે તેઓ યાકૂબને તેનાં કૃત્યોની સજા આપશે; તેનાં કૃત્યો પ્રમાણે તે તેને સજા આપશે. BSB BSB: The LORD has a charge to bring against Judah. He will punish Jacob according to his ways and repay him according to his deeds.
3 ULB ગર્ભસ્થાનમાં તેણે પોતાના ભાઈની એડી પકડી, અને પુખ્ત ઉંમરે તેણે ઈશ્વર સાથે બાથ ભીડી. BSB BSB: In the womb he grasped his brother’s heel, and in his vigor he wrestled with God.

5 ULB હા, યહોવાહ, સૈન્યોના ઈશ્વર છે; "યહોવાહ" તે તેમનું સ્મારક નામ છે જેના ઉચ્ચારથી તેમને બોલાવવામાં આવે છે. BSB BSB: the LORD God of Hosts, the LORD is His name of renown.
6 ULB માટે તમારા ઈશ્વરની તરફ પાછા ફરો. ન્યાય અને વિશ્વાસુપણાને વળગી રહો, તમારા ઈશ્વરની રાહ જોતા રહો. BSB BSB: But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and always wait on your God.
7 ULB વેપારીઓના હાથમાં તો ખોટાં ત્રાજવાં છે, તેઓને છેતરપિંડી ગમે છે. BSB BSB: A merchant loves to defraud with dishonest scales in his hands.
8 ULB એફ્રાઇમ કહે છે, "ખરેખર, હું તો ધનવાન થયો છું, મને સંપત્તિ મળી છે. મારાં સર્વ કાર્યમાં તેઓને કોઈ પણ અન્યાય જડશે નહિ, કે જેનાથી પાપ થાય." BSB BSB: And Ephraim boasts: “How rich I have become! I have found wealth for myself. In all my labors, they can find in me no iniquity that is sinful.”
9 ULB "મિસર દેશથી હું યહોવાહ તમારો ઈશ્વર છું. જેમ મુકરર પર્વના દિવસોમાં તું વસતો હતો, તેમ હું તને ફરીથી મંડપોમાં વસાવીશ. BSB BSB: But I am the LORD your God ever since the land of Egypt. I will again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the appointed feast.
10 ULB મેં પ્રબોધકો સાથે વાત કરી છે. મેં તેઓને ઘણાં સંદર્શનો આપ્યાં છે. મેં તેઓને પ્રબોધકો મારફતે દ્રષ્ટાંતો આપ્યા છે." BSB BSB: I spoke through the prophets and multiplied their visions; I gave parables through the prophets.
11 ULB જો ગિલ્યાદમાં દુષ્ટતા છે, લોકો તદ્દન વ્યર્થતારૂપ છે. તેઓ ગિલ્ગાલમાં બળદોનું બલિદાન કરે છે; તેઓની વેદીઓ ખેતરના ચાસમાંના પથ્થરના ઢગલા જેવી છે. BSB BSB: Is there iniquity in Gilead? They will surely come to nothing. Do they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal? Indeed, their altars will be heaps of stones in the furrows of the field.
12 ULB યાકૂબ અરામ દેશમાં નાસી ગયો છે; ઇઝરાયલે પત્ની મેળવવા માટે સેવા કર્યું, તેણે પત્ની મેળવવા માટે ઘેટાંને ચરાવ્યાં. BSB BSB: Jacob fled to the land of Aram and Israel worked for a wife—for a wife he tended sheep.
13 ULB પ્રબોધક મારફતે યહોવાહ ઇઝરાયલી લોકોને મિસરમાંથી બહાર લાવ્યા, પ્રબોધક દ્વારા તેઓનું રક્ષણ થયું. BSB BSB: But by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.
14 ULB એફ્રાઇમે યહોવાહને ઘણા ગુસ્સે કર્યાં છે. તેના રક્તપાત માટે પ્રભુ તેને જ જવાબદાર ઠેરવશે અને તેઓએ જે અપરાધો કર્યા છે તેનો દોષ તેઓના માથે નાખશે. BSB BSB: Ephraim has provoked bitter anger, so his Lord will leave his bloodguilt upon him and repay him for his contempt.
