1 ULB યહૂદિયાના રાજા ઉઝિયાના દીકરા યોથામના દીકરા આહાઝના સમયમાં, અરામના રાજા રસીન તથા ઇઝરાયલના રાજા રમાલ્યાનો દીકરો પેકાહ યરુશાલેમની સામે લડવાને ચઢી આવ્યા; પણ તેઓ તેના પર ફતેહ પામી શક્યા નહિ. BSB BSB: Now in the days that Ahaz son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, was king of Judah, Rezin king of Aram marched up to wage war against Jerusalem. He was accompanied by Pekah son of Remaliah the king of Israel, but he could not overpower the city.
2 ULB દાઉદના વંશના રાજાને એ ખબર મળી કે, અરામ એફ્રાઇમ સાથે મળી ગયો છે. ત્યારે તેનું મન અને તેના લોકોનાં મન જેમ વનનાં વૃક્ષો પવનથી કંપે એમ ગભરાયાં. BSB BSB: When it was reported to the house of David that Aram was in league with Ephraim, the hearts of Ahaz and his people trembled like trees in the forest shaken by the wind.
3 ULB ત્યારે યહોવાહે યશાયાને કહ્યું, "તું તારા પુત્ર શાર-યાશૂબને લઈને તમે બંને ધોબીના ખેતરને રસ્તે આવતા ઉપલા કુંડના નાળાંના છેડા આગળ આહાઝને મળવા જાઓ. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Isaiah, “Go out with your son Shear-jashub to meet Ahaz at the end of the aqueduct that feeds the upper pool, on the road to the Launderer’s Field,
4 ULB તું તેને કહે કે, 'સાવધ રહે, શાંત રહે, ગભરાઈશ નહિ અને આ હોલવાઈ જતી મશાલના બે છેડાથી, એટલે અરામના રસીન તથા રમાલ્યાના દીકરા પેકાના રોષથી ભયભીત ન થા. BSB BSB: and say to him: Calm down and be quiet. Do not be afraid or disheartened over these two smoldering stubs of firewood—over the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram and of the son of Remaliah.
5 ULB અરામે, એફ્રાઇમે તથા રમાલ્યાના દીકરાએ તારા પર વિપત્તિ લાવવાની મસલત કરીને, કહ્યું છે કે BSB BSB: For Aram, along with Ephraim and the son of Remaliah, has plotted your ruin, saying:
6 ULB "આપણે યહૂદિયા પર ચઢી જઈને તેને ત્રાસ પમાડીએ અને આપણે માટે તેમાં ભંગાણ પાડીએ અને ત્યાં ટાબએલના દીકરાને રાજા બનાવીએ." BSB BSB: ‘Let us invade Judah, terrorize it, and divide it among ourselves. Then we can install the son of Tabeal over it as king.’
7 ULB પણ પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે કે, "એમ થશે નહિ; અને તે યોજના સફળ થશે નહિ, BSB BSB: But this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘It will not arise; it will not happen.
8 ULB કારણ કે અરામનું શિર દમસ્કસ છે અને દમસ્કસનું શિર રસીન છે. અને પાંસઠ વર્ષમાં એફ્રાઇમ નાશ પામશે અને પ્રજાની ગણતરી રહેશે નહિ. BSB BSB: For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin. Within sixty-five years Ephraim will be shattered as a people.
9 ULB એફ્રાઇમનું શિર સમરુન છે અને સમરુનનું શિર રમાલ્યાનો દીકરો છે. જો તમે વિશ્વાસમાં સ્થિર રહેશો નહિ તો તમે સુરક્ષિત રહેશો નહિ."'" BSB BSB: The head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is the son of Remaliah. If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all.’”
11 ULB "તું તારે માટે તારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ પાસે ચિહ્ન માગ; ચાહે તો ઊંડાણમાંથી અથવા ચાહે તો ઊંચાણમાંથી માગ." BSB BSB: “Ask for a sign from the LORD your God, whether from the depths of Sheol or the heights of heaven.”
12 ULB પરંતુ આહાઝે કહ્યું, "હું માગીશ નહિ, કે યહોવાહની પરીક્ષા કરીશ નહિ." BSB BSB: But Ahaz replied, “I will not ask; I will not test the LORD.”
13 ULB પછી યશાયાએ જવાબ આપ્યો, "હે દાઉદના વંશજો સાંભળો, તમે માણસોની ધીરજની પરીક્ષા કરો છો તે શું પૂરતું નથી? કેમ કે તમે હવે મારા ઈશ્વરની ધીરજની પરીક્ષા કરવા માગો છો?" BSB BSB: Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of men? Will you try the patience of my God as well?
15 ULB તે ખોટું નકારવાને તથા ભલું પસંદ કરવાને સમજણો થશે, ત્યારે તે દહીં અને મધ ખાશે. BSB BSB: By the time He knows enough to reject evil and choose good, He will be eating curds and honey.
16 ULB એ બાળક ખોટું નકારવાને તથા ભલું પસંદ કરવાને સમજણો થશે, તે અગાઉ જે બે રાજાથી તું ભયભીત થાય છે તેઓનો દેશ ઉજ્જડ થઈ જશે. BSB BSB: For before the boy knows enough to reject evil and choose good, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste.
17 ULB એફ્રાઇમ યહૂદાથી જુદો પડ્યો ત્યાર પછી આવ્યા નહોતા એવા દિવસો યહોવાહ તારા પર, તારી પ્રજા પર તથા તારા પિતાના કુટુંબ પર લાવશે, એટલે તે આશ્શૂરના રાજાને લાવશે." BSB BSB: The LORD will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since the day Ephraim separated from Judah—He will bring the king of Assyria.”
18 ULB વળી તે સમયે યહોવાહ મિસરની નદીના છેડાઓ પર જે માખી છે તેને અને આશ્શૂરમાંથી જે મધમાખીઓ છે તેમને યહોવાહ સીટી વગાડીને બોલાવશે. BSB BSB: On that day the LORD will whistle to the flies at the farthest streams of the Nile and to the bees in the land of Assyria.
19 ULB તેઓ બધી આવીને, કોતરોમાં, ખડકોની ફાટોમાં, સર્વ કાંટાનાં છોડવાઓમાં અને સર્વ બીડોમાં ભરાઈ રહેશે. BSB BSB: And they will all come and settle in the steep ravines and clefts of the rocks, in all the thornbushes and watering holes.
20 ULB તે દિવસે પ્રભુ ફ્રાત નદીને પેલે પારથી ભાડે રાખેલા અસ્ત્રા વડે, એટલે આશ્શૂરના રાજા વડે, તમારું માથું અને પગોના વાળ મૂંડી નાખશે; અને દાઢી પણ કાઢી નાખશે. BSB BSB: On that day the Lord will use a razor hired from beyond the Euphrates—the king of Assyria—to shave your head and the hair of your legs, and to remove your beard as well.
21 ULB તે દિવસે માણસ એક વાછરડી અને બે ઘેટાં પાળશે. BSB BSB: On that day a man will raise a young cow and two sheep,
22 ULB અને તેઓના દૂધની પુષ્કળ આવકને લીધે તે દહીં ખાશે, જે બધા દેશમાં બાકી રહ્યા હશે તેઓ સર્વ દહીં અને મધ ખાશે. BSB BSB: and from the abundance of milk they give, he will eat curds; for all who remain in the land will eat curds and honey.
23 ULB તે સમયે, એમ થશે કે જ્યાં એક હજાર રૂપિયાના એક હજાર દ્રાક્ષાવેલા રોપેલા હતા, તેવી દરેક જગ્યા કાંટા અને ઝાંખરાંનું સ્થાન થઈ જશે. BSB BSB: And on that day, in every place that had a thousand vines worth a thousand shekels of silver, only briers and thorns will be found.
24 ULB પુરુષો ધનુષ લઈને ત્યાં શિકાર કરવા જશે, કારણ કે આખી ભૂમિ કાંટા અને ઝાંખરાં થશે. BSB BSB: Men will go there with bow and arrow, for the land will be covered with briers and thorns.
25 ULB તે સર્વ ટેકરાઓ જે પાવડાથી ખોદવામાં આવતા, ત્યાં કાંટા અને ઝાંખરાંની બીક હતી નહિ; પણ ત્યાં બળદો તથા ઘેટાંને ચરવાની જગ્યા થઈ પડશે. BSB BSB: For fear of the briers and thorns, you will no longer traverse the hills once tilled by the hoe; they will become places for oxen to graze and sheep to trample.
