1 ULB પછી ઈસુનું પરીક્ષણ શેતાનથી થાય એ માટે આત્મા તેમને અરણ્યમાં લઈ ગયા. BSB BSB: Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2 ULB ચાળીસ રાતદિવસ ઉપવાસ કર્યા પછી તેમને ભૂખ લાગી. BSB BSB: After fasting forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.
3 ULB પરીક્ષણ કરનારે તેમની પાસે આવીને કહ્યું કે, “જો તું ઈશ્વરનો દીકરો છે, તો આ પથ્થરોને કહે કે, તેઓ રોટલી થઈ જાય.” BSB BSB: The tempter came to Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 ULB પણ ઈસુએ ઉત્તર આપતા કહ્યું કે, “એમ લખેલું છે કે, ‘માણસ એકલી રોટલીથી નહિ, પણ દરેક શબ્દ જે ઈશ્વરના મુખમાંથી નીકળે છે તેથી જીવશે.’” BSB BSB: But Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
5 ULB ત્યારે શેતાન તેમને પવિત્ર નગરમાં લઈ ગયો અને ભક્તિસ્થાનના બુરજ પર તેમને ઊભો રાખ્યો, BSB BSB: Then the devil took Him to the holy city and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple.
6 ULB અને તેમને કહ્યું કે, “જો તું ઈશ્વરનો દીકરો છે, તો પોતાને નીચે પાડી નાખ; કેમ કે એમ લખેલું છે કે, ‘ઈશ્વર પોતાના સ્વર્ગદૂતોને તારા સંબંધી આજ્ઞા કરશે; અને દૂતો તને પોતાના હાથો પર ધરી લેશે, જેથી તારો પગ પથ્થર સાથે ન અફળાય.” BSB BSB: “If You are the Son of God,” he said, “throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command His angels concerning You, and they will lift You up in their hands, so that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’”
7 ULB ઈસુએ તેને કહ્યું, “એમ પણ લખેલું છે કે, ‘પ્રભુ તારા ઈશ્વરનું તું પરીક્ષણ ન કર.’ BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
8 ULB ફરીથી શેતાન તેને ઘણાં ઊંચા પહાડ ઉપર લઈ ગયો અને દુનિયાના સઘળાં રાજ્યો તથા તેઓનો વૈભવ તેમને બતાવ્યું. BSB BSB: Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 ULB અને તેને કહ્યું કે, “જો તું પગે પડીને મારું ભજન કરશે, તો આ સઘળાં હું તને આપીશ.” BSB BSB: “All this I will give You,” he said, “if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 ULB ત્યારે ઈસુએ તેને કહ્યું કે, “અરે શેતાન, દૂર જા! કેમ કે લખેલું છે કે, ‘પ્રભુ તારા ઈશ્વરનું ભજન કર અને એકલા તેમની જ સેવા કર.’” BSB BSB: “Away from Me, Satan!” Jesus told him. “For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’”
11 ULB ત્યારે શેતાન તેમને મૂકીને ગયો; અને સ્વર્ગદૂતોએ તેમની પાસે આવીને તેમની સેવા કરી. BSB BSB: Then the devil left Him, and angels came and ministered to Him.
12 ULB યોહાન બંદીવાન કરાયો છે, એવું સાંભળીને ઈસુ ગાલીલમાં પાછા આવ્યા. BSB BSB: When Jesus heard that John had been imprisoned, He withdrew to Galilee.
13 ULB પછી નાસરેથ મૂકીને ઝબુલોનના તથા નફતાલીના પ્રદેશમાંના સમુદ્ર પાસેના કપરનાહૂમમાં તે આવીને રહ્યા. BSB BSB: Leaving Nazareth, He went and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,
14 ULB એ માટે કે પ્રબોધક યશાયાએ જે કહ્યું હતું તે પૂરું થાય કે, BSB BSB: to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
15 ULB “ઝબુલોનના પ્રાંત, નફતાલીના પ્રાંત, યર્દન નદીની પેલે પાર, એટલે બિનયહૂદીઓના ગાલીલ! BSB BSB: “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 ULB જે લોકો અંધકારમાં જીવતા હતા, તેઓએ મોટું અજવાળું જોયું અને તે વિસ્તારમાં તથા મરણની છાયામાં જેઓ બેઠેલા હતા, તેમના પર અજવાળું પ્રકાશ્યું.” BSB BSB: the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.”
17 ULB ત્યાર પછી ઈસુ ઉપદેશ આપતા કહેવા લાગ્યા કે, “પસ્તાવો, કેમ કે સ્વર્ગનું રાજ્ય પાસે આવ્યું છે.” BSB BSB: From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
18 ULB ઈસુ ગાલીલના સમુદ્રને કિનારે ચાલતા હતા ત્યારે તેમણે બે ભાઈઓને, એટલે સિમોન જે પિતર કહેવાય છે તેને તથા તેના ભાઈ આન્દ્રિયાને સમુદ્રમાં જાળ નાખતા જોયા, કેમ કે તેઓ માછીમાર હતા. BSB BSB: As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
19 ULB ત્યારે ઈસુ તેઓને કહ્યું કે, ‘મારી પાછળ આવો અને હું તમને માણસોના પકડનારા કરીશ.’ BSB BSB: “Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
20 ULB તેઓ તરત જાળો મૂકીને તેમની પાછળ ગયા. BSB BSB: And at once they left their nets and followed Him.
21 ULB ત્યાંથી આગળ જતા તેમણે બીજા બે ભાઈઓને, એટલે ઝબદીના દીકરા યાકૂબને તથા તેના ભાઈ યોહાનને, તેઓના પિતા સાથે વહાણમાં પોતાની જાળો સાંધતા જોયા. તે તેઓને બોલાવ્યા, BSB BSB: Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. Jesus called them,
22 ULB અને તેઓ તરત વહાણને તથા પોતાના પિતાને મૂકીને તેમની પાછળ ગયા. BSB BSB: and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed Him.
24 ULB ત્યારે આખા સિરિયામાં તેમની કીર્તિ ફેલાઈ ગઈ, અને લોકો તેમની પાસે સઘળાં માંદાઓને, અનેક જાતનાં રોગીઓ અને દર્દીઓને, દુષ્ટાત્મા વળગેલાંઓને, વાઈ તથા લકવાગ્રસ્તથી પીડાતાઓને લાવ્યા; અને તેમણે તેઓને સાજાં કર્યા. BSB BSB: News about Him spread all over Syria, and people brought to Him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering acute pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and He healed them.
25 ULB ગાલીલથી, દસનગરથી, યરુશાલેમથી, યહૂદિયાથી તથા યર્દનને પેલે પારથી લોકોનાં ટોળેટોળાં તેમની પાછળ ગયા. BSB BSB: Large crowds followed Him, having come from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
