1ኮታር ሳንምስባብ ኤድንከስ ሙዳ አምሰኮ የሱሰም ኦስ ጵላጦሰደር ተይ አይሰኬ።Then the whole council rose and led Jesus away to Pilate.

2ኩነረ ጋየረኮ ክትም ካሰስ የጀኬ። “ኮና ኤችና ዎንታ ዎርሰንም ኮተርዝድንካ፥ ሮማ ባንችንካንታ ግራ ናግዳክንግንዳ ማርድንካ፥ ጉጅሰረ እታ አቅስንባብ ክርስቶስ ባንችቴ ክት ጋይድንካ Ꮊፍሶቴ”።And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation, forbidding payment of taxes to Caesar, and proclaiming Himself to be Christ, a King.”

3ጵላጦሰረ “የና አይሁድንከስታ ባንቾ?” ጋይሶ የሱሰም ኦይሴ። “የሱሰረ ይዬ የስ ጋይሳንግንዴ” ክደር ጋይሴ።So Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.

4ኮታዘንከረ ጵላጦስ ቀሰንከስም ገችዝድባብከስምኬ ዎርሰንካንታ “እታ ኮ ኤችንታ ዘን Ꮊረነረ ባች ክታዘንካ Ꮊፋክቴ” ጋይሴ።Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”

5ኬታ ማቼ “ኮና ኤችና ገሊላ ፍጫርንካ የድሶ ካሪ የለልታ ይሁዳ ፍጨናረረ ሙዳ ይንታ ኤስስንካ ኤድም አዉልዝዴ” ጋየረኮ ዳቅስሶ ኬዘኬ።But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people all over Judea with His teaching. He began in Galilee and has come all the way here.”

6ጵላጦሰረ ኮም ኤሰርሶ “ኮና ገሊላ ፍጫ ኤዶ?” ጋይሶ ኦይሴ።When Pilate heard this, he asked if the man was a Galilean.

7የሱስ ሄሮድስ ገችዝድንደታርንካ Ꮊድባብ ክታ ማትንተንም ጵላጦስ ኤስሶ ሄሮድስ ኮትᎺይካ የሩሳሌም ካተመናር ክት ዶቅድንካንታ ኦስ ክደር ክትም ኦይቼ።And learning that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself was in Jerusalem at that time.

8ሄሮድሰረ የሱሰም በድᎺይካ ሰድንካንታ ዝግድ Ꮊቃንካንታ የሱሰም ሰድንተንካ በድ ጉርምሴ፥ ክትጎካ ኤሰረሮ ይ Ꮊቃንጎካ የሱስ አታ ርም ክት ፍግዝድንካ ሰድንካንታ ጉርምድ Ꮊቄ።When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased. He had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see Him perform a miracle.

9ሄሮድሰረ የሱሰም በድ ኦይስነረ ኦይሴ፥ ኖ ማቼ Ꮊረነረ ማሳክዬ።Herod questioned Jesus at great length, but He gave no answer.

10ቄሰንከስም ገችዝድባብከስኬ ሙሴታ ህግን ኤስዝድባብከስ ዋር ዎእሰኮ ክትም ካሰዝድ Ꮊቀኬ።Meanwhile, the chief priests and scribes stood there, vehemently accusing Him.

11ሄሮድሰረ ፖልስንከስካ ክክን ክትም ቶችሰኬ፥ Ꮊልተርከረ ክታዘን ኬዘኬ፥ ቦንችምሳን አፍለረ ክትም ቆፍስሶ ኦስ ጵላጦስደር ማስሶ ኦይቼ።And even Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him. Dressing Him in a fine robe, they sent Him back to Pilate.

12ሄሮድስከ ጵላጦሰካ ኮትኮ ሰጨንታ እር ክክ ተችይ Ꮊቀኬ፥ ኮታይካ ማቼ ክክ ሱስምሰኬ።That day Herod and Pilate became friends; before this time they had been enemies.

13ጵላጦሰረ ቄሰንከስም ገችዝድባብም፥ አይሁድንከስም ቆልድባብከስምኬ ዎርሰንም የካ ሳንስሶ፥Then Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,

14“ኮና ኤችና ዎርሰን ዳቅልታ አምስዝዴ ጋይሰቶ ተይ Ꮊተትናና፥ እተረ የንታ እር ኦይስስቶ የ ክትም ካሰሳንግንዳ ዋልቀረ ዳቀልስ ክታዘን Ꮊፋክቴ።and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him.

15ጉጅሰረ ሄሮድስ ኮትኮግንዳ Ꮊረነረ ክታዘን ይ Ꮊፋክንካንታ ፈንክ ዎንደር ክትም ማስቴ፥ የ ሰድንግንዳ ኮና ኤችና ደእካንታ ክትም የልዝድንደትም Ꮊረርየረ ፍክሳክዬ።Neither has Herod, for he sent Him back to us. As you can see, He has done nothing deserving of death.

16ኮካንታ ክትም Ꮊርድስቶ ቡልድቴ” ኩነረ ከደር ጋይሴ።Therefore I will punish Him and release Him.”

17ኮም ክት ጋይሳንዳ ፋስጋ ባአልንካ ዞከርስባብከሳርንካ ዋልቃባብ ከትካንታ ቡልም ዝግዝድንካንቴ።Not in the BSB

18ዎርሰነረ ሙዳ ዋልቃትቸካ “ኮ ኤችንም ኦስ ደይስካ! ባርባንም ዎካንታ ቡልካ!” ጋየረኮ ፍፍሰኬ።But they all cried out in unison: “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”

19ባርባነረ ካተመናር አዉላ አምስስካ ኤድም ደይስሶ ዞከርስባብ ኤች Ꮊቄ።(Barabbas had been imprisoned for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)

20ጵላጦሰረ የሱሰም ቡልካንታ ይ ዝግዛንኦል አነታ ከደር ኬዜ።Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate addressed them again,

21ከታ ማቼ፥ “ክትም ሮካ! ሮካ!” ጋየረኮ ፍብድ Ꮊቀኬ።but they kept shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”

22ጵላጦሰረ ማክምስ ዱት “Ꮊረተረ? ኮና ኤችና Ꮊራር ክት ፍክሳንዳ ባች ዶቅዳ? ደእካንታ ክትም የልዝድንደትም Ꮊረነረ ባች እታ ክታዘን Ꮊፋክቴ፥ ኮካንታ Ꮊርድስቶ ክትም ቡልድቴ” ከደር ጋይሴ።A third time he said to them, “What evil has this man done? I have found in Him no offense worthy of death. So after I punish Him, I will release Him.”

23ኬታ ማቼ ኡፍስን ይንታ ጬክሳ ይሰኮ ክት ሮከርድንግንዳ ዳቅስሶ ክትም ምክሰኬ፥ ፍፍሰረ ጋምሰኬ።But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices for Jesus to be crucified. And their clamor prevailed.

24ኮካንታ ጵላጦስ ከት ኦይሳንደና ቦድምድንግንዳ ጋይሶ ክታዘን ፋረጄ።So Pilate sentenced that their demand be met.

25ዎርሰንም ባችታ አምስሳንካንተከ ኤድም ደይስሶ ዞከርስባብም ከትካንታ ቡልምድንግንዳ ከት ምክስባብ ባርባንም ከትካንታ ቡልሴ፥ የሱሰም ማቼ ከታ ዝግመትንግንዳ ስክስት ከትካንታ እምሴ።As they had requested, he released the one imprisoned for insurrection and murder, and he handed Jesus over to their will.

26የሱሰመረ የድሰኮ ከት አይድንካ ስምኦን ጋይምስባብ ቀረና ፍጫ ኤች ካተማ ማታክን ፍጫርንካ Ꮊድንካ የድሰኮ ማዝቀልን ክትም ባልስሶ የሱሰታ ካርንካ ክት አይድንግንዳ ክት ሶልማክናና ጋይሰኬ።As the soldiers led Him away, they seized Simon of Cyrene on his way in from the country, and they put the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.

27በድ ዎርሰንከሰረ ኦንገዝን ይንታ ጎደረኮ ክትካንታ ኤብድን ማነንከሰረ የሱሰታ ቡርጎካ ጎርስምድ Ꮊቀኬ።A great number of people followed Him, including women who kept mourning and wailing for Him.

28የሱስ ማቼ ፈንክ ከደር ዋልን ጋይሶ “የታ የሩሳሌማር ማነንከሶ፥ የንታ ማታካንተኬ የንታ ይንችንካንታ ኤፍከት ዳት እካንታ Ꮊይ ኤፈቴ።But Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.

29ይና ‘ሴካ ማችባብከስ፥ አጣክን ሳቅምንከስኬ፥ ጋእሳክን አምንከሰረ ጭለኬ’ የ ጋይድን ሰጫ Ꮊተሬ።Look, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore, and breasts that never nursed!’

30ኮትኮᎺይከረ “ገቼንከስም ‘ዎንዘን ይፍከቴ’ ‘ደንንከስመሬ፥ ዎም አችከቴ’ ጋይተረኬ።At that time ‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’

31“ይና Ꮊቀን ጋንድንዘን ኩን ከት ይድንዳ ማቼ፥ Ꮊቀን ዎቸንዘን Ꮊስግንደክ ይተራ?” ኩን ከደር ጋይሴ።For if men do these things while the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

32ኮታዘንከረ ክትካ ክክን ከት ደእድንግንዳ ቃስተን አብ ባችንባብከስም ተይ አይሰኬ።Two others, who were criminals, were also led away to be executed with Jesus.

33ራስቅል ጋይምሳን ካርዘን ከታ ይ የልሳንደትካ ክትም ሮክሰኬ፥ ባችንባብከስመረ ዋልቃባብም ክታ ምዝንዘን፥ ዋልቃባብመረ ክታ ከችንዘን ኬትም ሮክሰኬ።When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left.

34የሱሰረ፥ “እባቦ! ከታ ይ ይድንደትም ኤሳየኬ ነጋ ከትም ጋይካ” ጋይሴ። ዳምንባብከስ ክታ አፍለንም እጨካ ካስምሰኬ።Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His garments by casting lots.

35ዎርሰነረ ዎእሰኮ ሰደሮ Ꮊቀኬ። አይሁድንከስም ገችዝድባብከሰረ “አብንከስም አቅሴ ሳብካ እድምስባብና አቅስንባብ ክርስቶስ ይ ማቼ፥ ይና ይንታ ማተነረ ክት አቅሳ!” ጋየረኮ Ꮊልተርካ ክታዘን ኬዘኬ።The people stood watching, and the rulers sneered at Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”

36ዳምንባብከሰረ Ꮊድሰኮ Ꮊልተርካ ክታዘን ኬዘረኮ፥ ጫቅምድንደትም ዎይንን ክትካንታ እምሰኬ፥The soldiers also mocked Him and came up to offer Him sour wine.

37“ይና የና አይሁድንከስታ ባንች የስ ማቼ የስታ ማተን አቅስካ” ጋየሮ Ꮊቀኬ።“If You are the King of the Jews,” they said, “save Yourself!”

38ክታ ቃደንታ ዘርመርጎካ ማዝቀልንዘን “ኮና አይሁድንከስታ ባንቼ” ጋይድን ጻፍምሳንደትም ዎጀኬ።Above Him was posted an inscription: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39ሮከርስባብ ባችንባብከሳርንካ ዋልቃባብ “የና አቅስንባብ ክርስቶስ ካያ? ይና፥ የስታ ማተነረ ዎመረ አቅስካ” ጋየሮ ክትም የክሴ።One of the criminals who hung there heaped abuse on Him. “Are You not the Christ?” he said. “Save Yourself and us!”

40ቃስትምስ ባችንባብና ማቼ “ክክ ካምድን ፍርደም ተያዶቅደዮ ቦድሶ ሳብም ጳሳያ?But the other one rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same judgment?

41ዎታ ዎ ይሳን ሪንታ ዋጭ ዎ ተያዶቅድንካንታ ዎም ዝግዝድን ፍርድምዘኖቴ፥ ኮና ኤችና ማቼ ዋልቀረ ዳቅል ሪ ይያክዬ” ኩንጋየሮ ክትም ዋጬ።We are punished justly, for we are receiving what our actions deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

42ጉጅሰረ “የሱሶ! የስታ ባንችምንካ የስ Ꮊዳንደትካ እም ገቀርካ” ክደር ጋይሴ።Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!”

43የሱሰረ “እታ ዶፈን የስም ጋይድቴ፥ ታካ እንካ ክክን ገነታር ማተረዬ” ክትም ጋይሴ።And Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

44ኮነረ ይይምሳንዳ Ꮊየካ ላ ሳዓት ማታባብዘን፥ ሳክላ ሳዓት የለልተረ ፍጫሙደንዘን ኡም ማቼ።It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over all the land until the ninth hour.

45Ꮊይነረ ኡምሴ። ሳብታ ጭል ኤሄናር ስፍስንደና Ꮊእሶ ቃስቴንካርዘን ፋስምሴ።The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn down the middle.

46የሱሰረ አንድር ኡፍስካ ፍፍሶ፥ “እባቦ! እስታ ሰንፔንም የስታ አንናር እምድቴ!” ጋይሴ፥ ኮመረ ጋይሶ ደእሴ።Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last.

47ፖልስንከስም ክድባበረ ይምሳንደት ርን ሰድሶ “ኮና ኤችና ዶፈን ጭል Ꮊቄ” ጋይሶ ሳብም ጋለቼ።When the centurion saw what had happened, he gave glory to God, saying, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

48ኮትኮመረ ሰድንካንታ ካርንዘን ሳንምሶ Ꮊቅባብ ኤድንከስ ሙዳ ይይምሳን ርን ከታ ሰዳንደትካ ሞርእካ ይንታ ኦንገዝን ጎደረኮ ኤር ማቸኬ።And when all the people who had gathered for this spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their breasts.

49ኬዛርንካ ማቼ የሱሰም ኤዝድባብከስ ሙደና ኮትኮግንደረ ገሊላ ፍጨናርንካ የድሶ ክትም ጎርስምስባብከስ ማነና ኮም ሰደረኮ ጎትካ ዎእሶ Ꮊቀኬ።But all those who knew Jesus, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance watching these things.

50አይሁድንታ ካተመናር ዶቅድባብ ቡጫ ጋልተንከስም ዞርድባብ ዋልቃ ዮሰፍ ጋይምድባብ Ꮊልስማ ማችባብ ጭል ኤች Ꮊቄ።Now there was a Council member named Joseph, a good and righteous man,

51ኮና ኤችና ቡጫጋልተንከስታ ዞረምናርከ ከታ ይተናር ከትካ ክክን ኖ ማታክባብ Ꮊቄ። ኖየረ አርማትያስ ጋይምድን አይሁድንከስታ ካተመናርንካ ይ ማቻንካንታ ሳብታ ባንችምንታ Ꮊድንተን ካርዝድ ኖ Ꮊቄ።who had not consented to their decision or action. He was from the Judean town of Arimathea and was waiting for the kingdom of God.

52ኖ ኮና ኤችነረ ጵላጦስ ገችዝድን ይሁዳ ካተመናር አይሶ የሱሰታ ለይስንም ክትካንታ እምምድንግንዳ ኦይሴ።He went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.

53ዱካ ክትም ጋይሳንደትካ ለይስንም Ꮊንችሶ ኡርማ ዱክ አፍለካ አክሴ፥ ሰይንም ቆቅሶ አክ ኡርሰርሳን Ꮊየነረ ዱከራክን ካርዘን ዱክሴ።Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and placed it in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had yet been laid.

54ናኮና ሰጨነረ አይሁድንታ Ꮊዉስ ሰጨና የልሳንካንታ ኤድ ይንታ ር ግግዝድን ሰጫ Ꮊቄ።It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was beginning.

55ገሊላ ፍጨናርንካ የድሶ የሱሰካ ክክን Ꮊድባብ ማነንከሰረ ጎርስምሰኮ ዱክንም ሰጀኬ፥ ክታ ለይስን Ꮊስግንዳ ክት ዱክሳናንከረ ሰጀኬ።The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how His body was placed.

56ዋርንከረ ይንታ Ꮊዉስ ኤሄናር ማትሰኮ ዎዝድንደትምከ ሳየርድንደትም ግግሰኬ፥ ሙሴታ ህግና ክድንደትግንዳ አይሁድንታ Ꮊዉስ ሰጨንካ ኡክንሰኬ።Then they returned to prepare spices and perfumes. And they rested on the Sabbath, according to the commandment.
