Yek ma̱ wutit gwel i'e yek ma̱ ta̱nti na̱ ang ga̱na̱n, tik ɗe ga̱ɓa ga̱ mbadl gwe ba̱ a paki sowu.BSBBSB: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.
2. 2GYZGa̱ɓa ga̱ mbadl gwisi tul ten dii atli, yek ma̱ yenti, yek ma̱ hwi mbala̱n ga̱ɓa ten da̱mti gwasi yek ma̱ dla̱mikii ga̱ɓa ten mbadl gwe ba̱ a paki so ga̱misi. Tek go ta̱ ni to mal Nya Aba ka, yek ta̱ tul mal ni.BSBBSB: And this is the life that was revealed; we have seen it and testified to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.
3. 3GYZMa̱ hwikii ɗe mi wo ma̱ yenti yek ma̱ kumti wi, kangwe ɗe kaa cugaa sukmi wu. A cutgaa ga̱na̱n mi wo suk Abe ka̱n suk yen gwasi Almasihu Yesu.BSBBSB: We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
4. 4GYZMa̱ ni kii ma lishti na̱k ga̱mi ta̱ hwol tuk ga̱na̱n njika̱n ɗa.BSBBSB: We write these things so that our joy may be complete.
5. 5GYZGa̱ɓa gwe ma̱ kumi tet bi ɗatka yek ma̱ hwikii wi wuggu, Nya wo cilti ka̱n, a malti wo da̱mshal ni ɗa̱ so ko njet.BSBBSB: And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6. 6GYZKume ma̱ wuli ɗe ma̱ na̱ma cutgaa sukti ama ama̱ yima la̱t ka̱ da̱mshal go, ma̱ shela̱n lali a ba̱ ma̱ na̱nma da̱mti ka̱ gem so.BSBBSB: If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7. 7GYZAma kume ma̱ na̱nma la̱t ka̱ cilti na̱k gwe ta̱ ni ka̱ cilti go, ma cugaa suk yilkeni jina̱n, a hwulan ga̱ Yen gwasi Yesu polini da̱ska̱n ga̱ pa̱lti byas wul ka mas.BSBBSB: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8. 8GYZKume ma̱ wuli ɗe mi wo ma̱n pa̱lti byas wul ka̱ sowu, ma̱ shela̱n gaa ga̱na̱n a ba̱ gem na̱n gipni so.BSBBSB: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9. 9GYZKume ma̱ dla̱mi Nya byas wul jina̱n wu, ti wo ma̱n njika̱nti ga̱ɓa gwe ta̱ dla̱m wu ka̱n a ma̱n pa̱lti gem ka̱n, ta taas byas wul jina̱n ka, ata̱ polini da̱ska̱n ga̱ la̱shi pa̱lti gem ga̱na̱n ka mas.BSBBSB: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10. 10GYZKume ma̱ wuli ɗe mi wo ma̱ pa̱la̱n byas wul sogo, ma̱ palla̱n Nya wi ɗe ma̱n shelti lali, a ba̱ ga̱ɓa gwas mbi lu da̱mti ka̱ mbadl ga̱na̱n so.BSBBSB: If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.
