1. 1HMBוביום השלישי היתה חתנה בקנה אשר בגליל ואם ישוע היתה שם׃BSBBSB: On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,
2. 2HMBוישוע ותלמידיו היו גם הם קרואים אל החתנה׃BSBBSB: and Jesus and His disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
3. 3HMBויחסר היין ותאמר אם ישוע אליו יין אין להם׃BSBBSB: When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to Him, “They have no more wine.”
4. 4HMBויאמר אליה ישוע מה לי ולך אשה עתי עדין לא באה׃BSBBSB: “Woman, what is that to you and to Me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
5. 5HMBותאמר אמו אל המשרתים ככל אשר יאמר לכם תעשו׃BSBBSB: His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.”
6. 6HMBוהנה ששה כדי אבן ערוכים שם כמשפט היהודים לטהרתם שתים או שלש בתים יכיל כל אחד׃BSBBSB: Now six stone water jars had been set there for the Jewish rites of purification. Each could hold from twenty to thirty gallons.
7. 7HMBויאמר אליהם ישוע מלאו לכם הכדים מים וימלאום עד למעלה׃BSBBSB: Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them to the brim.
8. 8HMBויאמר שאבו נא והביאו אל רב המסבה ויביאו׃BSBBSB: “Now draw some out,” He said, “and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so,
9. 9HMBויטעם רב המסבה את המים אשר נהפכו ליין ולא ידע מאין הוא ואולם המשרתים אשר שאבו את המים ידעו ויקרא רב המסבה אל החתן׃BSBBSB: and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not know where it was from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside
10. 10HMBויאמר אליו כל איש יתן בראשונה את היין הטוב וכאשר ישכרו יתן להם את הגרוע ואתה צפנת היין הטוב עד עתה׃BSBBSB: and said, “Everyone serves the fine wine first, and then the cheap wine after the guests are drunk. But you have saved the fine wine until now!”
11. 11HMBזאת תחלת האתות אשר עשה ישוע בקנה אשר בארץ הגליל וגלה את כבודו ויאמינו בו תלמידיו׃BSBBSB: Jesus performed this, the first of His signs, at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.
12. 12HMBויהי אחרי כן וירד אל כפר נחום הוא ואמו ואחיו ותלמידיו ולא ארכו ימי שבתם שם׃BSBBSB: After this, He went down to Capernaum with His mother and brothers and His disciples, and they stayed there a few days.
13. 13HMBויקרבו ימי חג הפסח אשר ליהודים ויעל ישוע ירושלים׃BSBBSB: When the Jewish Passover was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14. 14HMBוימצא במקדש מכרי בקר וצאן ובני יונה ואת מחליפי כסף ישבים שם׃BSBBSB: In the temple courts He found men selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and money changers seated at their tables.
15. 15HMBויקח חבלים ויעבתם לשוט ויגרש כלם מן המקדש ואת הצאן ואת הבקר ויפזר את מעות השלחנים ויהפך שלחנתיהם׃BSBBSB: So He made a whip out of cords and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle. He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
16. 16HMBואל מכרי היונים אמר הוציאו אלה מזה ואל תעשו את בית אבי לבית מסחר׃BSBBSB: To those selling doves He said, “Get these out of here! How dare you turn My Father’s house into a marketplace!”
17. 17HMBויזכרו תלמידיו את הכתוב כי קנאת ביתך אכלתני׃BSBBSB: His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for Your house will consume Me.”
18. 18HMBויענו היהודים ויאמרו אליו אי זו אות תראנו כי כזאת אתה עשה׃BSBBSB: On account of this, the Jews demanded, “What sign can You show us to prove Your authority to do these things?”
19. 19HMBויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם הרסו את ההיכל הזה ובשלשה ימים אקימנו׃BSBBSB: Jesus answered, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again.”
20. 20HMBויאמרו היהודים הנה זה ארבעים ושש שנה נבנה ההיכל הזה ואתה בשלשה ימים תקימנו׃BSBBSB: “This temple took forty-six years to build,” the Jews replied, “and You are going to raise it up in three days?”
21. 21HMBוהוא דבר על היכל גויתו׃BSBBSB: But Jesus was speaking about the temple of His body.
22. 22HMBואחרי קומו מן המתים זכרו תלמידיו כי זאת אמר להם ויאמינו בכתוב ובדבר אשר דבר ישוע׃BSBBSB: After He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this. Then they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
23. 23HMBויהי בהיתו בירושלים בחג הפסח האמינו רבים בשמו כי ראו האתות אשר עשה׃BSBBSB: While He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the signs He was doing and believed in His name.
24. 24HMBוהוא ישוע לא הפקיד את עצמו בידם על אשר ידע את כלם׃BSBBSB: But Jesus did not entrust Himself to them, for He knew them all.
25. 25HMBולא הצטרך לעדות איש על האדם כי הוא ידע מה בקרב האדם׃BSBBSB: He did not need any testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man.
