1. 1HMBאם כן מה נאמר הנעמד בחטא למען ירבה החסד׃BSBBSB: What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase?
2. 2HMBחלילה לנו כי מתנו לחטא ואיך נוסיף לחיות בו׃BSBBSB: Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?
3. 3HMBאו האינכם ידעים כי כלנו הנטבלים למשיח ישוע למותו נטבלנו׃BSBBSB: Or aren’t you aware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4. 4HMBלכן נקברנו אתו בטבילה למות למען כאשר נעור המשיח מן המתים בכבוד האב כן נתהלך גם אנחנו בחיים מחדשים׃BSBBSB: We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life.
5. 5HMBכי אם נדבקנו בדמיון מותו אכן גם נהיה דבוקים לתחיתו׃BSBBSB: For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection.
6. 6HMBבאשר ידעים אנחנו כי נצלב אתו האדם הישן אשר בנו למען תבטל גוית החטא לבלתי היותנו עוד עבדים לחטא׃BSBBSB: We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.
7. 7HMBכי אשר מת הוא נקה מן החטא׃BSBBSB: For anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
8. 8HMBוהנה אם מתנו עם המשיח נאמין כי גם נחיה עמו׃BSBBSB: Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him.
9. 9HMBבאשר ידענו כי המשיח אחרי אשר נעור מן המתים לא ימות עוד והמות לא ישלט בו עוד׃BSBBSB: For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him.
10. 10HMBכי אשר מת מת לחטא פעם אחת ואשר חי חי הוא לאלהים׃BSBBSB: The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God.
11. 11HMBוכן גם אתם חשבו אתכם מתים לחטא וחיים לאלהים במשיח ישוע אדנינו׃BSBBSB: So you too must count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
12. 12HMBאם כן אפוא אל תמלך החטאת בגופכם אשר ימות לנטות אחריה בתאותיו׃BSBBSB: Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires.
13. 13HMB]31-21[ גם אל תכינו את אבריכם להיות כלי עול לחטא אך תכינו את נפשכם לאלהים כחיים מעם המתים ואבריכם כלי צדקה לאלהים כי החטא לא יוכל למשל עוד בכם יען אינכם תחת יד התורה כי אם תחת יד החסד׃BSBBSB: Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.
14. 14HMB]31-21[׃BSBBSB: For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.
15. 15HMBועתה מה הנחטא יען איננו תחת יד התורה כי אם תחת יד החסד חלילה׃BSBBSB: What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Certainly not!
16. 16HMBהלא ידעתם כי לאשר תתנו את נפשכם להיות עבדיו לסור למשמעתו הן עבדים אתם לאשר תשמעו לו אם לחטא אלי מות אם למשמעת אלי צדקה׃BSBBSB: Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness?
17. 17HMBאבל תודת לאלהים כי הייתם עבדי החטא ואחר שמעתם בכל לבבכם אל תכונת הלקח אשר נמסרתם לו׃BSBBSB: But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed.
18. 18HMBשחררתם מידי החטא לכן השתעבדתם לצדקה׃BSBBSB: You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
19. 19HMBכדרך בני אדם אני מדבר מפני רפיון בשרכם כי כאשר לפנים הכינותם את אבריכם לעבודת החטאה והרשע להרשיע כן עתה הכינו את אבריכם לעבודת הצדקה להתקדש׃BSBBSB: I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.
20. 20HMBכי בעת היותכם עבדי החטא חפשים הייתם מן הצדקה׃BSBBSB: For when you were slaves to sin, you were free of obligation to righteousness.
21. 21HMBומה אפוא הפרי שהיה לכם אז מן המעשים אשר עתה תבשו מהם כי אחריתם המות׃BSBBSB: What fruit did you reap at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? The outcome of those things is death.
22. 22HMBאכן עתה בהיותכם משחררים מידי החטא ומשעבדים לאלהים יש לכם פריכם לקדשה ואחריתו חיי עולם׃BSBBSB: But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the fruit you reap leads to holiness, and the outcome is eternal life.
23. 23HMBכי שכר החטא הוא המות ומתנת חסד אלהים היא חיי העולם במשיח ישוע אדנינו׃BSBBSB: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
