1 HGLT अब फसह के पर्व से पहले, यीशु जान गया कि उसका समय आ गया था कि वह इस संसार से निकल कर पिता के पास जाए। उसके{ अपनों से} जो संसार में थे जैसा वह प्रेम करता था, वह अंत तक उनसे वैसा ही प्रेम करता रहा। BSB BSB: It was now just before the Passover Feast, and Jesus knew that His hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the very end.
2 HGLT और जब भोजन का समय आने वाला था, तो शैतान पहले से ही शमौन इस्करियोती के{ पुत्र}, यहूदा के हृदय में डाल चुका था, कि वह यीशु को धोखा दे। BSB BSB: The evening meal was underway, and the devil had already put into the heart of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.
3 HGLT यह जानकर कि पिता ने सब कुछ उसके हाथों में सौंप दिया था, और यह कि वह परमेश्वर के पास से आया था और परमेश्वर के पास वापस जा रहा था, BSB BSB: Jesus knew that the Father had delivered all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was returning to God.
4 HGLT तो वह भोजन पर से उठा और{ अपने} ऊपरी कपड़ों को उतार दिया। और एक तौलिया लेकर, उसे अपने चारों ओर लपेट लिया। BSB BSB: So He got up from the supper, laid aside His outer garments, and wrapped a towel around His waist.
5 HGLT फिर उसने एक प्याले में पानी भरा और चेलों के पाँवों को धोना और उनको उस तौलिए से पोंछना आरम्भ कर दिया जो उसने अपने चारों ओर लपेटा हुआ था। BSB BSB: After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and dry them with the towel that was around Him.
6 HGLT फिर वह शमौन पतरस के पास आता है। वह उससे कहता है,“हे प्रभु, क्या तू मेरे पाँवों को धोता है?” BSB BSB: He came to Simon Peter, who asked Him, “Lord, are You going to wash my feet?”
7 HGLT यीशु ने उत्तर दिया और उससे कहा,“जो मैं करता हूँ उसे तू अभी नहीं समझता, परन्तु इन बातों के बाद में तू समझ जाएगा।” BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
8 HGLT पतरस उससे कहता है,“निश्चय ही तू अनन्तकाल तक मेरे पाँवों को धोने न पाएगा।” यीशु ने उसे उत्तर दिया,“यदि मैं तुझे न धोऊँ, तो मेरे साथ तेरा कोई भाग नहीं।” BSB BSB: “Never shall You wash my feet!” Peter told Him. Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me.”
9 HGLT शमौन पतरस उससे कहता है,“हे प्रभु, केवल मेरे पाँवों को ही नहीं, परन्तु{ मेरे} हाथों और{ मेरे} सिर को भी धो दे।” BSB BSB: “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not only my feet, but my hands and my head as well!”
10 HGLT यीशु उससे कहता है,“जो धुल चुका है उसे{ अपने} पाँवों को धोने के अलावा, कुछ और आवश्यक नहीं, परन्तु वह पूर्ण रूप से शुद्ध है, और तुम शुद्ध हो, परन्तु सब नहीं।” BSB BSB: Jesus told him, “Whoever has already bathed needs only to wash his feet, and he will be completely clean. And you are clean, though not all of you.”
11 HGLT (क्योंकि वह जानता था कि कौन उसे धोखा दे रहा है; इसी कारण से उसने कहा,“सब के सब शुद्ध नहीं हो।”) BSB BSB: For He knew who would betray Him. That is why He said, “Not all of you are clean.”
12 HGLT अतः जब वह उनके पाँवों को धो चुका और अपने वस्त्रों को पहन लिया और फिर से बैठ गया, तो उसने उनसे कहा,“क्या तुम समझते हो कि मैंने तुम्हारे साथ क्या किया है? BSB BSB: When Jesus had washed their feet and put on His outer garments, He reclined with them again and asked, “Do you know what I have done for you?
13 HGLT तुम मुझे‘गुरु’ और‘प्रभु’ कहते हो, और तुम ठीक ही कह रहे हो, क्योंकि मैं वही हूँ। BSB BSB: You call Me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so, because I am.
14 HGLT फिर यदि मैंने, जो प्रभु और गुरु है, तुम्हारे पाँवों को धोया, तो तुम को भी एक- दूसरे के पाँवों को धोना चाहिए। BSB BSB: So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
15 HGLT क्योंकि मैंने तुम को एक उदाहरण दे दिया है ताकि तुम भी वैसा करो जैसा मैंने तुम्हारे साथ किया है। BSB BSB: I have set you an example so that you should do as I have done for you.
16 HGLT मैं तुम से सच- सच कहता हूँ, कि कोई दास अपने स्वामी की तुलना में बढ़कर नहीं है; और न संदेशवाहक उसकी तुलना में बढ़कर है जिसने उसे भेजा है। BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
17 HGLT यदि तुम इन बातों को जान लो, यदि तुम उनका पालन करो तो तुम धन्य हो। BSB BSB: If you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
18 HGLT मैं तुम सब के बारे में बात नहीं कर रहा हूँ; जिनको मैंने चुना उनको मैं जानता हूँ— परन्तु इसलिए कि पवित्रशास्त्र पूरा हो जाए:‘जो मेरे साथ रोटी खाता है उसी ने अपनी लात मेरे विरोध में उठाई।’ BSB BSB: I am not speaking about all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the Scripture: ‘The one who shares My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’
19 HGLT इससे पहले कि यह घटित हो मैं तुम को यह अभी से बता देता हूँ, ताकि जब यह घटित हो, तो तुम विश्वास करो कि मैं वही हूँ। BSB BSB: I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it comes to pass, you will believe that I am He.
20 HGLT मैं तुम से सच- सच कहता हूँ कि जिस किसी को मैं भेजूँ जो उसे ग्रहण करे तो वह मुझे ग्रहण करता है, और जो मुझे ग्रहण करे वह उसे ग्रहण करता है जिसने मुझे भेजा है।” BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever receives the one I send receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives the One who sent Me.”
21 HGLT ऐसा कहकर, यीशु अपनी आत्मा में परेशान हो गया, और उसने गवाही देकर कहा,“मैं तुम से सच- सच कहता हूँ कि तुम में से एक मुझे धोखा देगा।” BSB BSB: After Jesus had said this, He became troubled in spirit and testified, “Truly, truly, I tell you, one of you will betray Me.”
22 HGLT चेले आश्चर्य करते हुए एक- दूसरे की तरफ देखने लगे, कि वह किसके बारे में बोल रहा था। BSB BSB: The disciples looked at one another, perplexed as to which of them He meant.
23 HGLT अब उसका एक चेला, जिससे यीशु प्रेम करता था, यीशु की छाती की ओर झुका हुआ भोजन करने के लिए बैठा हुआ था। BSB BSB: One of His disciples, the one whom Jesus loved, was reclining at His side.
24 HGLT इसलिए, शमौन पतरस ने उसे यह पूछने के लिए संकेत किया,“वह कौन है जिसके बारे में वह बोल रहा है।” BSB BSB: So Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus which one He was talking about.
25 HGLT अतः वैसे ही यीशु की छाती की ओर झुककर, वह उससे कहता है,“हे प्रभु, वह कौन है?” BSB BSB: Leaning back against Jesus, he asked, “Lord, who is it?”
26 HGLT यीशु ने उत्तर दिया,“वह वही है जिसे मैं रोटी का टुकड़ा डुबोने के बाद उसे सौंपकर दे दूँगा।” फिर रोटी को डुबोकर, उसने उसे शमौन इस्करियोती के{ पुत्र}, यहूदा को दे दिया। BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I give this morsel after I have dipped it.” Then He dipped the morsel and gave it to Judas son of Simon Iscariot.
27 HGLT और रोटी लेने के बाद, फिर शैतान उसमें प्रवेश कर गया। अतः, यीशु उससे कहता है,“जो तू कर रहा है, शीघ्रता से कर।” BSB BSB: And when Judas had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to Judas, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”
28 HGLT (अब जो मेज पर बैठे हुए थे उनमें से कोई नहीं जानता था कि उसने उससे ऐसा क्यों कहा। BSB BSB: But no one at the table knew why Jesus had said this to him.
29 HGLT क्योंकि कुछ सोच रहे थे, चूँकि यहूदा के पास धन की थैली रहती थी, इसलिए यीशु उससे कहता है,“पर्व के लिए हमें जिन वस्तुओं की आवश्यकता है वह खरीद ले,” या यह कि वह निर्धनों को कुछ दे।) BSB BSB: Since Judas kept the money bag, some thought that Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the feast, or to give something to the poor.
30 HGLT अतः, रोटी लेकर, वह तुरन्त ही बाहर चला गया। अब वह रात का समय था। BSB BSB: As soon as he had received the morsel, Judas went out into the night.
31 HGLT इसलिए, जब वह बाहर चला गया, तो यीशु कहता है,“अब मनुष्य के पुत्र का महिमामंडन हुआ है, और उसमें परमेश्वर का महिमामंडन हुआ है। BSB BSB: When Judas had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him.
32 HGLT और परमेश्वर अपने में उसका महिमामंडन करेगा, और वह तुरन्त ही उसका महिमामंडन करेगा। BSB BSB: If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify the Son in Himself—and will glorify Him at once.
33 HGLT हे छोटे बच्चों, मैं अभी थोड़े समय के लिए तुम्हारे साथ हूँ। तुम मुझे खोजोगे, और जैसा मैंने यहूदियों से कहा था,‘जहाँ मैं जाता हूँ, वहाँ तुम नहीं आ सकते।’ अब मैं तुम से भी यही कहता हूँ। BSB BSB: Little children, I am with you only a little while longer. You will look for Me, and as I said to the Jews, so now I say to you: ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’
35 HGLT यदि तुम एक- दूसरे के लिए प्रेम रखो, तो इसके द्वारा हर कोई जान लेगा कि तुम मेरे चेले हो।” BSB BSB: By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”
36 HGLT शमौन पतरस उससे कहता है,“हे प्रभु, तू कहाँ जा रहा है?” यीशु ने उसे उत्तर दिया,“जहाँ मैं जाता हूँ, वहाँ तू मेरे पीछे अभी नहीं आ सकता, परन्तु तू बाद में पीछे आएगा।” BSB BSB: “Lord, where are You going?” Simon Peter asked. Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you cannot follow Me now, but you will follow later.”
37 HGLT पतरस उससे कहता है,“हे प्रभु, मैं तेरे पीछे अभी क्यों नहीं आ सकता? मैं तो तेरे लिए अपना जीवन भी दे दूँगा।” BSB BSB: “Lord,” said Peter, “why can’t I follow You now? I will lay down my life for You.”
38 HGLT यीशु ने उत्तर दिया,“क्या तू मेरे लिए अपना जीवन भी दे देगा? मैं तुझ से सच- सच कहता हूँ, इससे पहले कि तू तीन बार मेरा इन्कार न कर दे निश्चय ही मुर्गा बाँग नहीं देगा।” BSB BSB: “Will you lay down your life for Me?” Jesus replied. “Truly, truly, I tell you, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.
