3तब पतरस और अन्य चेला बाहर निकले, और वे कब्र की ओर गए।Then Peter and the other disciple set out for the tomb.

4अब वे दोनों एक साथ भाग रहे थे, और अन्य चेला तेजी से पतरस से आगे भागा और कब्र पर पहले पहुँचा।The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.

5और झुककर, वह सनी के कपड़े पड़े देखता है, परन्तु वह भीतर नहीं गया।He bent down and looked in at the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in.

6फिर शमौन पतरस भी उसके बाद आया और कब्र के भीतर प्रवेश किया। और वह वहाँ सनी के कपड़े पड़े देखता हैSimon Peter arrived just after him. He entered the tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there.

7और वह कपड़ा जो उसके सिर पर था, वह सनी के कपड़ों के साथ नहीं पड़ा था, परन्तु स्वयं से लपेटा हुआ एक स्थान पर था।The cloth that had been around Jesus’ head was rolled up, lying separate from the linen cloths.

8इसलिए फिर अन्य चेला भी, जो कब्र पर पहले पहुँचा था, भीतर गया, और उसने देखकर विश्वास किया।Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in. And he saw and believed.

9क्योंकि उन्होंने अभी तक पवित्रशास्त्र को नहीं समझा था कि मरे हुओं में से जी उठना उसके लिए आवश्यक था।For they still did not understand from the Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.

10तब वे चेले फिर से{ अपने घरों को} चले गए।Then the disciples returned to their homes.

11परन्तु मरियम कब्र के बाहर खड़ी हुई, रो रही थी। फिर जब वह रो रही थी, तो उसने झुककर कब्र में देखा।But Mary stood outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent down to look into the tomb,

12और वह दो स्वर्गदूतों को श्वेत वस्त्र पहने बैठे हुए देखती है, एक को सिर के पास और एक को पाँवों के पास जहाँ यीशु के शव को लिटाया गया था।and she saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and the other at the feet.

13और वे उससे कहते हैं,“हे स्त्री, तू क्यों रो रही है?” वह उनसे कहती है,“क्योंकि वे मेरे प्रभु को उठा ले गए, और मैं नहीं जानती कि उन्होंने उसे कहाँ रखा है।”“Woman, why are you weeping?” they asked. “Because they have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I do not know where they have put Him.”

14यह कहकर, वह पीछे मुड़ी और वहाँ यीशु को खड़े देखा, और वह नहीं जानती थी कि वह यीशु था।When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there. But she did not recognize that it was Jesus.

15यीशु उससे कहता है,“हे स्त्री, तू क्यों रो रही है? तू किसे खोज रही है?” वह यह सोचकर कि वह माली है, उससे कहती है,“हे महोदय, यदि तू ही उसे उठा ले गया है, तो मुझे बता कि तूने उसे कहाँ रखा है, और मैं उसे ले जाऊँगी।”“Woman, why are you weeping?” Jesus asked. “Whom are you seeking?” Thinking He was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried Him off, tell me where you have put Him, and I will get Him.”

16यीशु उससे कहता है,“मरियम।” वह मुड़कर उससे इब्रानी भाषा में कहती है,“रब्बूनी”(जिसका अर्थ“गुरु” है)।Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).

17यीशु उससे कहता है,“मुझे मत पकड़, क्योंकि मैं अभी तक पिता के पास ऊपर नहीं गया हूँ; परन्तु मेरे भाइयों के पास जा और उनको बता कि‘मैं मेरे पिता तथा तुम्हारे पिता, और मेरे परमेश्वर तथा तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के पास ऊपर जाता हूँ।’”“Do not cling to Me,” Jesus said, “for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go and tell My brothers, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.’”

18मरियम मगदलीनी आकर, चेलों से बोली,“मैंने प्रभु को देखा है,” और यह कि उसने उससे इन बातों को बोला था।Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them what He had said to her.

19फिर, उस दिन शाम होने पर, जो सप्ताह का पहला दिन था, और जहाँ चेले थे, वहाँ के द्वार यहूदियों के भय के कारण बंद थे, तो यीशु आया और{ उनके} बीच में खड़ा हो गया और उनसे कहता है,“तुम को शान्ति मिले।”It was the first day of the week, and that very evening, while the disciples were together with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them. “Peace be with you!” He said to them.

20और यह कहकर, उसने उनको{ अपने} हाथ और{ अपनी} बगल दिखाई। तब चेले प्रभु को देखकर आनन्दित हुए।After He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

21तब उसने फिर से चेलों से कहा,“तुम को शान्ति मिले। जैसे पिता ने मुझे भेजा, वैसे ही मैं भी तुम को भेजता हूँ।”Again Jesus said to them, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so also I am sending you.”

22और यह कहकर, उसने{ उन} पर फूँका और उनसे कहता है,“पवित्र आत्मा ग्रहण करो।When He had said this, He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

23जिस किसी के पाप तुम क्षमा करो, तो वे उनके लिए क्षमा कर दिए गए हैं; जिस किसी के{ पाप} तुम बरकरार रखो, तो वे बरकरार रखे गए हैं।”If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you withhold forgiveness from anyone, it is withheld.”

24परन्तु उन बारहों में से एक, थोमा, जो दिदुमुस कहलाता था, जब यीशु आया तो उनके साथ नहीं था।Now Thomas called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.

25तब अन्य चेलों ने बाद में उससे कहा,“हम ने प्रभु को देखा है।” परन्तु उसने उनसे कहा,“जब तक मैं उसके हाथों में कीलों के निशान न देख लूँ, और उन कीलों के निशान में अपनी उंगली न डाल लूँ, और उसकी बगल में अपना हाथ न डाल लूँ, तब तक निश्चय ही मैं विश्वास नहीं करूँगा।”So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “Unless I see the nail marks in His hands, and put my finger where the nails have been, and put my hand into His side, I will never believe.”

26और आठ दिनों के बाद उसके चेले फिर से भीतर थे, और थोमा उनके साथ ही था। जब द्वार बंद थे तो यीशु आया, और{ उनके} बीच में खड़ा हो गया, और कहा,“तुम को शान्ति मिले।”Eight days later, His disciples were once again inside with the doors locked, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”

27फिर वह थोमा से कहता है,“अपनी उंगली यहाँ रख और मेरे हाथों को देख। और अपना हाथ लेकर आ और उसे मेरी बगल में डाल। और अविश्वासी नहीं, परन्तु विश्वासी बन।”Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”

28थोमा ने उत्तर दिया और उससे कहा,“हे मेरे प्रभु और हे मेरे परमेश्वर।”Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!”

29यीशु उससे कहता है,“क्योंकि तूने मुझे देखा, इसलिए तूने विश्वास किया; धन्य हैं वे जिन्होंने नहीं देखा, और विश्वास किया।”Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

30फिर यीशु ने अपने चेलों की उपस्थिति में अन्य बहुत से चिन्ह भी प्रकट किए, जिनको इस पुस्तक में लिखा नहीं गया है,Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book.

31परन्तु इन बातों को इसलिए लिखा गया है ताकि तुम विश्वास करो कि यीशु ही मसीह, अर्थात परमेश्वर का पुत्र है, और जिससे कि विश्वास करके, तुम उसके नाम में जीवन प्राप्त करो।But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.
